Years! Pheros are very resilliant and need extreme heat to do them damage. Cold is not a problem at all. What does for pheros more than anything else is light - so dark storage is best and oils don’t keep quite as long as sprays but its still in years, rather than months.

However, some of the scent/solvent components are more volatile and prone to evaporation if stored in overly warm conditions - you will likely wreck them long before you do for the pheros.

How do we know that the [pheromones](https://a314.com/) mix/composition is uniform? Do we have to shake the bottle before using it? In oil based products you can see layers if you leave the bottles unused for long time.

What happens to the alcohol based products?

I’d recommend shaking the bottles for 1-2 minutes before every use regardless. Keeps the pheros fresh, potent, and effective. It’s likely you’ll need to take more time shaking after long periods of storage, but assuming they’re stored properly in a cold, dark place, you should have no problem going back to an old mix.

Shaking is needed with olis, yes but its much less of an issue with alcohol. Alcohol also keeps far longer because it helps restrict breakdown/contamination.

I would not suggest storing it in your car long term. While extreme heat is needed to damage the mones evap occurs much quicker in a car environment. If its winter your fine but once those warmer months hit you want to store in a COOL dark place.

I store them upright in my refrigerator, no matter what. A cool environment will keep volatilizing to a minimum, and this is especially important with the togo sized bottles, which aren’t perfectly sealed. But I keep them in an airtight container so the smell doesn’t seep into food. I don’t want to know what neroli salad tastes like.
