Hi all, I’ve never experienced TAH or TAL on their own before. So I was wondering what strength is suggested for each? Personality details in the last paragraph.

I don’t want to go with too little, then find I have to add 5 sprays for it to work. I don’t like being over-perfumed.

I can’t stand the generic neroli fragrance, so was wondering in your experiences how much less effect you get from the other fragrances. I’ve tried all but cookie and didn’t like them much, is that one any good?

I’ve used IS-B before (hit and miss using 2-3 sprays), which made me chatty, silly, easygoing and girly I suppose. Some have commented that I must be in love, but I’m pretty sure others thought I was high…

Also is there any fragrance besides Pink Sugar that masks neroli for you? I would like something less sugary and sweet as I’m not interested in appearing overly girly, it’s too much of a contrast with the way I dress (fairly androgynous). I’ve worn Burberry Brit in the past which I like because it’s not too overpowering or suggestive, have to reorder, but would this work?

I’m not very feminine and have element masculinity (which I don’t mind). I’m generally reserved and lack confidence until I’m in the right company and then have outgoing moments, but often I seem lost and confused. I can sometimes be quite cutting and direct in my manner. Not really alpha though.

I’m not looking to make me completely girly but a touch more feminine and generally more easygoing, approachable and happy. When I want to, I’d like the option to be more dominant.

Appreciate the advice.

Personally I would go with 12.5mcg/spray until you find your sweet spot! Generally I wear 2 sprays of each when wearing them together but it could be different for you.

I have TAL and TAH in coconut vanilla and I absolutely love it! In my opinion it’s sooo much nicer than neroli but I have never tried cookie. It’s got a lot of good reviews though!

Most perfumes will work relatively well - as long as you allow the mones to dry before covering them with a cover scent.

In my opinion - TAH and TAL should give you both options. TAH tends to be more feminine and softer, whereas TAL is more dominant. [P74](https://pheromonelabs.com/product/p74/) is also very feminine - it increases comfort but also draws people closer!

Thanks for the quick reply.

I’ve got coconut vanilla and it seriously gets on my nerves. Too sweet. Is grapefruit/cookie less powerful?

Isn’t neroli supposed to diffuse the phereomones better? Has anyone got some experiences re: this to share? I don’t mind the smell of neroli, it’s just too obvious and easy to suss out. Especially if I wear a perfume that doesn’t completely mask it.

I assume that’s 12.5mcg for TAH, TAL and [P74](https://a314.com/product/p74/)?

Not sure about the science behind the neroli - maybe some of the other members will be able to help you out!

Yep I think 12.5 mcg/spray is a good starting place for any [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/).

Thanks. If anyone else could chime in on the potence of neroli as a diffuser, that would be great.

I’m ordering a bunch of perfume samples, they’ll probably be expensive ones, so I really need the most subtle scent with the pheromone. Is it a problem to just order unscented? I’m afraid the scents won’t layer well.

That vanilla coconut smells like detergent to me, I sprayed it this morning to make sure and I was sneezing all over the place and developed a headache!! Can’t get rid of it.

I prefer testing with doses of 7.5mcg. That dose makes it easier for me to find my sweet spot/see results without having to use too many sprays, which can mean being overscented. 😉 For testing, I find 2.5mcg is too little and 12.5mcg is a little too much but you can’t get less than 12.5mcg in a to-go. You’d have to order it in 30ml.

As far as fragrances go, I should say that I’m not adverse to using something that doesn’t totally appeal to me, especially if it works/involves [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/). However, I do have limitations as to just how far I’ll go, lol.

Fragrance is so personal. Oh, boy. Lordy, honey. I feel you, lol. You say you can’t stand the generic Neroli but then you say you don’t mind the smell, it’s just too obvious and easy to suss out. Well, if you can’t learn to tolerate/hide Neroli to your satisfaction and you also dislike sweet scents… you soooo in trouble. I’m partial to Neroli because it’s the least offensive/most unobtrusive scent that AD offers and the easiest to work with because it’s light enough to cover with _most_ other scents. You don’t have to use Pink Sugar. While it’s a great strong cover for EoW, it’s kinda overkill for Neroli. You should be fine covering with your Burberry Brit. If not, then you’ll just have to try a little bit stronger cover that’s to your liking.

I’ve have all the scents AD offers and, other than Neroli, I find them to be too cloying/sweet/too foodie and a too overpowering bold presence in general. The scents also last a very long time even after the pheromonal effects have worn off. I’m all for great diffusion/sillage/longevity and have fragrances with said that are strong, but not heavy, and very elegant… that I _like_. The AD scents, except for Neroli and possibly Grapefruit for some, are more in your face/brash and I can’t comfortably wear them. They’re just so not me. ☹

I don’t believe any of the scents were actually created/formulated with any covering in mind. They are intended to be used as is. Not that you can’t spray whatever you like over them, of course. Being the dauntless crusaders we are, we’ll try anything, lol.

Naturally, at first, I tried covering them. That was a laugh and neigh on impossible, really, except for Neroli. The best I could do to take the edge off in any way was to take a different tact. Instead of trying to _bury_ the offensive scent, I tried “blending” it with complimentary scents sprayed over top to mellow/tone down the AD scent. MX135/Chocolatini “covered” in Demeter’s Caramel, for example. (A note on Demeter fragrances. Some of them are known to be lovely, dead on accurate in scent, but fleeting/they dissipate quickly. Caramel isn’t one of them. It’s got some staying power.) Like I said, I don’t like sweet foodie scents but I was desperate to mellow out the Chocolatini! That helped somewhat but, like everything else, only for a short period of time until the inevitable bleed through of the AD scent happened. So, I finally gave up trying to wear them, except for Neroli. I’ve learned my lesson and won’t order anything I can’t get in Neroli.

Too much trouble, too little success. So, I stick with Neroli. 🙂 It’s so much easier for me than trying to wrestle the others into submission. I don’t care how diffusive the other scents are suppose to be. No matter how effective the pheromones are, what’s the point of buying products that I can’t stand the smell of?

I once accidentally sprayed some MX135/Chocoatini in my hair. 😮 I didn’t have time to wash my hair the next morning and the sickly sweet smell drove me nuts until I finally washed it out later that day. Ew, lol, never did that again!

One of my first products was TAH/25mcg/Cookie scent. (I don’t recommend starting out with 25mcg!) I loved the TAH _effects_ but OMG, the Cookie scent 😮, I thought I might have to kill myself, lol. I don’t like smelling like cotton candy/a cookie/plastic coconut vanilla and when given other choices would never choose them. Nor do I want to wear a fragrance that I’m uncomfortable smelling on myself. They’re so strongly scented/overpowering even at higher doses, where you only need but a spray or two, it’s still too much scent for me. I’m all for diffusion/sillage but I don’t want my scent to announce me before I enter a room. I prefer a more understated scent trail. Unless I’m huntin’ bear, I like something that’s more subtle/intimate. You need to be close to me to get a good whiff.

Now, I didn’t smell it on me _all_ the time. After the initial olfactory overload, I stop smelling it because my nose was too saturated with the smell to perceive it. But when I smelled another very different scent, then I began to perceive it again. So, like a wave, it ebbs and flows. Neroli lays down nicely and is much easier to cover than trying to fight City Hall. Throughout the day when I get the natural ebb and flow of fragrance I want to _like_ the scent! Sorry, to the ladies who love City Hall. 🙂 Chocolatini, Cookie, Coconut Vanilla, just don’t jibe with me. We’re all different. To each her own. 😉

Although Neroli _is_ diffusive in it’s own right, the other scents offered are considered to be even more so. Aside from it’s diffusive properties, Neroli is used frequently in Aromatherapy for it’s many other beneficial properties.

[http://www.anandaapothecary.com/aromatherapy-essential-oils/neroli-essential-oil.html](http://www.anandaapothecary.com/aromatherapy-essential-oils/neroli-essential-oil.html)

Unscented products might sound like an appealing alternative but they’re not _really_ unscented. They have their own funky armpit/crotch/butthole fragrance and therefore can be harder to cover than one might think. EoW is unscented and just ask the boys about trying to cover the catpiss smell of Androstenone.

AD pheromones are top notch and I’m not trying to be unduly unkind in my critique of the ladies scents… BUT… in all honesty, they leave _alot_ to be desired. Especially for gals who don’t like uber sweet/ foodie scents.

All that said, there is _one_ other scent _you_ might find workable and that’s Grapefruit. Alone, _not_ the Cookie/Grapefruit combo! It’s not quite as easy to cover as Neroli but it’s still relatively light when compared to the other scents and therefore it’s easier to cover/mute/blend with other fragrances. It’s still not my cuppa cappuccino. Again, it boils down to personal preference. The Grapefruit offered here is still too sweet for my taste and dries down to a kinda powdery floral scent on me that I just don’t like. Others will tell you it smells just like grapefruit! Maybe it does _on them!_ We must be eating different types of grapefruit. 😃 To me it lacks the clean, bright, sharpness found in “real” grapefruit that naturally balances the sweetness of the overall scent. Yes, grapefruit _is_ sweet smelling but _my_ favorite grapefruit scents also have a sharp clean edge that is _not_ floral and doesn’t smell like a grapefruit dipped in baby powder. Ick, lol. Sorry. 🙄 I ended up giving a bottle of MX335/Grapefruit to a friend because all it did was give me a headache and there’s no way I could wear it. Until they get something else together for us girls, it’s Neroli all the way.

For a touch more femininity, TAH… for generally more easy going approachability, IO (P74 is also a good sugestion 😉)… and happy, IShine. 🙂 When you want to be more dominant, add TAL to your neck/chest where you can huff it and TAH to the back of your hair/neck so you still get the benefits but are, somewhat, less effected by it. Or, if you’re feelin’ particularly sassy, swap out TAH and just use TAL instead. 😉

Whew, lol. Hope that helps!

Oh my god, what a brilliant response! I just can’t get over how artificial the other scents are.

Well you’ve pretty much made my decision, [Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/) it is. I don’t mind the smell at all, but yeah, too obvious. I’ve smelled it on other people…

I just wish the Neroli could be toned down a lot.

Anyway. Thanks for all your insight. Great to hear your experiences.
