Yeah, I know this sounds really random, but I thought I would call on my phero-friends (you guys) for some helpful advice. Especially since you guys are mostly social and know your game well.

I’m trying to get girls from my school (college) to pose for a calendar I’m making to sell later. It will be something like FHM/Stuff (this is what I mean … [Cover Girls of Stuff Magazine](http://www.stuffmagazine.com/cover_girls/) … [http://www.fhm.com/Girls/CoverGirls/](http://www.fhm.com/Girls/CoverGirls/))…they’ll be wearing bikinis, lingerie, and other revealing type outfits.

I don’t have a huge budget at the moment. I would be paying them $30 upfront and $400 once everything is published, but I promise to deliver (contract). I asked one of my friends who knows a bunch of hot chicks, and he said that they probably wouldn’t pose in bikinis for less than $300.

I still think it’s possible, I’m just not thinking of it the right way, there has to be some way to spin it to make girls want to do this for little money up front. Maybe some sort of a contest?

So anyway, I know 1-2 girls who are willing, but I need around 15 girls total. So far I just posted an ad on Craigslist (w/ no responses yet), and maybe one of my friends can find me one other girl.

I’m really hoping someone can give some tips on how to approach random girls on campus and ask them to do this. I just bought some [P93](https://pheromonelabs.com/product/p93/), which I hope I get soon 😃 …I can go up and start a conversation, but there has to be a way to ask them lightly/subtly.

I’ll of course post flyers and stuff like that, but it would be ideal to be able to actively choose the girls I want for the photos. Thanks for any tips/ideas 😉

15? Only 12 months dude. Just settle on 12. One for each month. Offer each 250 cash upfront, that’s an initial $3000 investment. But since you’re probably broke ass, let’s talk about doin it as cheaply as possible.

First off I hope you’re relatively good with photography. Everybody assumes there’s nothing to it, but that’s what seperates professional from amateur. Composition, angle, poses, facial expression, lighting, and even the quality of the camera play an important role. I hope you don’t intend on shooting this calender with a digital camera you purchased from Wal Mart.

But if you can cough up at least $1600 there’s a very great angle to play with potential hotties for your calender. Approach them and compliment them on how attractive they are, then ask them if they ever modeled before. If they say no then tell them you don’t believe them cause they look like a model. Then tell them you’re a photographer and you need models for your calender and you’d love to have her in your calender.

If she answers yes, tell her your a photographer and ask her if she’d like to expand her portfolio. You’re offering $50 for the shoot, and a chance to win a $1000. Could be a draw with a 1 in 12 chance to win, or maybe do an internet site to go with the calender and get people to vote on who takes the grand.

Smoothplayer,

Can’t say for sure this would work, but I would probably take the approach of offering them the opportunity to audition and qualify to be in the calendar, instead of trying to buy them. My thought is that people are more interested in doing something that they have to qualify for, rather than something that they were the only ones willing to do.

I think this could hold especially true with college girls. Women are often competitive and catty towards each other. (Tisha, if you happen to see this, notice that I didn’t say all women 🙂 ) When women go out they are not dressing up to impress us, they dress up to try to out do other women. They may accept your offer, just out of the competitiveness.

I might try something like this: When you approach these girls try asking them if they have ever modeled before, and tell them you are a talent scout, searching for fresh faces for a swim suit calendar. Tell the girls that you cannot promise them anything but ask if they would be interested in auditioning for the calendar. Then tell them that whether they are selected or not, they will get copies of the photo’s taken during the shoot, which they can add to their portfolio should they pursue a career in modeling.

Yeah, the reason I may want 15 is because the company I’m going to print the calendar with makes a 14-page calendar (2 extra pages, so I might as well use them…I guess I’ll just pictures from the same girls).

I’m actually going to cough up $1600, but the reason I can’t pay the girls as much upfront is because I’m hiring professional photographers with lights, studios, high-tech cameras, etc…it’s going to be really professional. I also just registered an LLC (company) for $250 to make sure it’s all official. I can afford to pay the girls after, and I promise to deliver.

…I think that’s a great way to approach it, I’ll try that approach, thanks.

Hmm, good tips, that makes sense. I will combine this approach with Pheraoh’s approach. Thanks.

I guess even though just going up and asking seems pretty self-explanatory, I didn’t think of phrasing it this way. 🙂

22 years in sales, life experiences and dealing with people has tought me it’s not so much what you say or ask, but how you say or ask it.

Good example:

Revolutionary new drug study. Seeking men and women from 21 to 40 with blah, blah, blah. To **QUALIFY** for this study you must meet the folowing requirements: blah, blah, blah, Call today to see if you **QUALIFY** for participation. Participants shall receive compensation in the amount of $500.00.

_ **Translation:** _

Need human guinnea pigs for medical experimentation with a new drug. Side effects may include, loss of limbs, eyesight, hearing, skin, privates may wither away. Stroke, heart attack and sudden death are not uncommon. In order to **QUALIFY** for participation, you just need to be stupid enough to risk everything for $500.00. Call today, and start today.

Smoothplayer,

In my experience, girls don’t need persuading to get in front of the camera. Trust me.

I frequently take photos for charity events, advertising photos for companies - fireworks mostly - a mate’s stag do etc.

Women come out of nowhere, throwing themselves in front of the camera, dragging other girls in front of the lens, kissing, touching, hugging. On a mate’s stag do in a nightclub, let’s just say the nightclub was wild and the girls wilder. 😃 😉 🆒

Above all, project a professional image. Preferably wear a suit, or smart casual at the very least. Only the rugged, Diet Coke guys get away with jeans and T-shirt. A suit’s worth at least 5 drops of A314, and boosts your professional image no end. It reassures your would-be models, puts girls at ease, and they’ll start flirting with you as well as the camera. Read up on aperture, exposure, ISO settings etc. It helps to reassure them that you’re not a perv wanting to take pics of them in their knicks, but a actual photographer. But don’t start waffling on about it unless they ask you questions about the camera, and try to use everyday metaphors to explain the camera functions. Believe me, if you start talking in technogeek, that is what you’ll be in their eyes, an overdressed AFC technogeek with a whizbang camera, and they turn down geeks in a flash - pun not intended.

The camera is also important. It’s the star as much as you are. I’ve tried it with a mobile phone camera, and very nearly got slapped. Same goes for your normal digital compact cameras. You’ll be blown off. A digital SLR? Now you’re talking. I use a Pentax K10D, and I love it to bits. Girls get their bits out for that thing - in nightclubs anyway. No persuasion required.

At the end, or during the negotiation, promise them that you’ll give them a copy of the photos you took of them. Put a little note in an envelope with the photos with a flattering comment. Tell them they’re sexy, the camera adores them, and they’ll be very appreciative. 😉

Damn, I should do this for my paid job. Maybe it’s true what they say about the artistic types. Very easy to get the babes.

You probably already have one if you’re as no-BS about this as you sound (LLC, hiring pros, etc.), but just in case you don’t… get a professional-looking business card together. May sound like overkill, but if you’re approaching random girls on campus and you want to look legit, a card would be a good thing to have on-hand.
