THe mice could be interested in the bird food that falls on the floor. I have birds, so I know what a mess they can make even when you constantly try and keep things clean around the cages.

I have computers in every room. This was one of my “skeletons” that was resting in my office.

Roomba’s are good for this. they get the bigger parts of the daily bird chaff.

I have seen mice climbing the cage to get into the seed dish. My Amazon was in the corner on the opposite side of the cage, hanging backward, looking defensive. but this is the same bird I find hanging upside down in the top of her cage in the morning. (I think she is part bat)

> With mice/rats, you have to make sure there is absolutely no food sources for them in your house. If there’s no food available, they won’t waste their time in your house.

Weelll yahhh, but the little buggers will eat anything that you or i eat. So what are you planning to have for lunch tomorrow?

The decision tree seems pretty short.

Try to starve 'em and the humans (and their animals) go hungry.

Could catch 'em. Dead and you have to clean up the mess and probably listen to their little screams of agony. Live and you have to transport them to a place that nature will probably kill them and lose a buch of sleep in the process. Hazard, you are a flaming pacifist and a nice guy.

Could seal them out. They can squeeze thru any crack big enough to slide a wood ruler into. We all have those, unless you live in a house built by a Japanese cabinetmaker. If you try to seal the cracks, I don’t see how you can still get in and out of the house.

Could turn the place into Battlestar Rodentia and power up the force field. Hmmm. Force field? A repellent? WAIT! I’VE GOT IT! An ultrainfrasonicilistic coherent dispersion apparition focusing interferometer! That ought to do it! Ohhh, awwright. There are sonic repellents that use different frequencies for insects and rodents. I don’t know what effect it would have on birds or dogs or other animals. I guess we could just use rosemary and camphor. Fresh bay leaves keep roaches out of cupboards. Don’t know if they work on mice. There are probably other wood or spice oils that good replellents. Cedar spray or shampoo keeps fleas off of dogs (Makes cats sick.) Citrus oils have that nice sharp acidity. Don’t count out the flower oils. Pyrethrun, a widely used broad spectrum insecticide, is simply marigold oil. Anybody know anything about natural repellents? Or about the sonic repellents?

Tiger urine is an effective garden repellent for rabbits and deer. I suppose we could just pee on the door sill to mark our territory.

Whadda ya think?

Put food into containers so it can’t be nibbled upon by the critters…

We managed to get rid of them thankfully.

I didn’t lose sleep over it 😛 If that little pain in the ass can’t make it on his own… too bad. I gave him his last shot at life… rather than take it on the spot.

If need be… i’ll put out poison _shrugs_ they wont run my life…
