They say that it might be linked to liver damage, but they need to do more research to verify. In order to protect consumer’s health, the product is being put on recall and everyone who is bought that product is advised to get a refund at their store. I work for GNC (1st day today WOOT 😃), and there were 3 customers so far that has returned this product. Two said the product was working for them but they didn’t want to risk any bad side effects, which is understandable, and one customer said it made his wife dizzy (duh!) 😛. This product is supposed to be a huge energy boost, make you hyper, jittery, shaky, etc.

I think all those products are junk…it seems that the good stuff isn’t shown on TV because the companies that make it get paid off by supplement giants.

Apparently, the world could’ve been free of oil dependence years ago when an alternative was invented, however it was kept under wraps by the oil companies who bought the patent and nipped it in the bud…

And no, I’m not one of those conspiracy-9/11 guys. 😛

I am not defending hydroxycut, but from what i understand the person who died, die in 2007

so why did they wait so long?

anyway truth is i dont trust anything FDA does, nor do i trust hydroxycut

if you look at any pamphlet you get whenever you get a perscription, half of the side effects can be coma and death…so what is the difference between hydroxycut and 90% of the prescription drugs out there?

What he probably means is that they have pulled a recent version of the product off the shelves, and the company has responded by re-introducing an older, different, formula.

And I can agree with one thing. One death or serious reaction amongst the thousands of users isn’t much, given the numbers (as was also pointed out) of deaths caused by supposedly “tested” prescription medications (Vioxx anyone?). After reading the precautions on some medications I get the feeling the “cure” is far worse and more dangerous that the disease it’s treating. Plus so many perscription medications only address the _symptoms_ of the illness/disease, not the illness/disease itself.

I’ve tried a few of those weight-loss products over the years mostly out of curiosity, although I do so only after researching them quite a bit, and I go with minimum dosages. That included the “FDA approved” Alli product. So far I haven’t been impressed. My usual routine of following the volumetrics diet and plain old walking did far far better. And cheaper too. Although with the way some people drive around here walking may be as dangerous a thing as popping some of those pills…

I am not familiar with hydroxycut. I haven’t used anything like that since the old dexatrim days but have you ever seen the commercials for some medications. Good Goddess its a wonder anyone will take them.

I forget which one but, I think it was for people who have joint problems and are stiff. It said may cause sudden death then went on to say if any of these problems occur please call your doctor. How ya gonna do that with sudden death ? No thanks, I would rather be stiff then dead.

Well, one euphinism for being dead is being “stiff.”

And some of us older guys who don’t get “stiff” may feel better off dead…
☹

That was my point..exactly

you have to see the warnings that come with the drug i take to prevent my migraines

but i have yet to get any side effects…and it has reduced my migraines by about 50%
