Well today I woke up at 5 A.m a little to early for my taste but it wast my fault. My mother was coughing up a lung.So i go in to her room and check on her.I take her temperature she had a small fever.So i give her some med and she try to go to sleep.20 min later she starts having an asthma attack and her medication is not working she just getting worst.So i call a cab ignore going to school at take her to the emergency room.A doctor come in he ask her what going on how she feel she tell him horrible then he leave saying" I’ll be back in a few minutes to treat you".Five hour later my mom is getting worst he hasn’t shown up yet.i asked a couple of nurse to find him nothing. I start walking around and i find him flirting with a nurse I’m pissed off already.So i walk up to him and tell him" can you go treat my mom". He looks at me sizes me up and tell me"watch your tone". then tell me “I’m going on break for an hour I’ll treat her when i get back”. I lose control punch him right on his face bust his lip open he fall to the ground surprised that that actually happen.I offer my hand to help him up.Idiot take the bait. I put him in a wrist lock and force him to where my mom was and i tell him to start treating.and he dose. security get there and escort me out. my mom got her treatment and was out within 30 min with some prescription. ---

I seriously doubt the ending of this story, for the simple reason that hospital security would have absolutely, positively arrested the poster for assault and battery. The mom was probably sick, the doc was probably a douche, but it’s not credible to suggest that the doc isn’t going to pursue charges since there were many witnesses present. Most likely this poster WISHED he had hit the doc, but it never happened. Good advice for everyone reading this: there are better ways to get what you want in a hospital. You know what they say about flies and honey! Making friends with the nurses is always the way to go-- then they can put pressure on the doc to see your loved one. I don’t know whether this kid’s story is true or not but I don’'t understand how some of you seem to applaud his actions if it actually did happen the way he said… Don’t get me wrong, I’m in now way defending the slack and rude behaviour of the Dr, but being slack and rude is no excuse to get violent and assault someone. I work in the medical field myself it’s unfortunately not an uncommon occurrence that we as staff get attacked both verbally and physically. You enter the healthcare profession because you want to help people. It’s horrible to have to work in an environment where you can’t feel safe, and where those you try and help sometimes assault you. I have 2 colleagues that ended up quitting their jobs because they couldn’t cope emotionally after being attacked, 1 by a patient and 1 by a patients relative… ---

The guy was a douche. he wasn’t treating her for 4 hour and when i asked him to go help her he told me to watch my tone and I’m going on break. WTF. Im not an agressive person at all outside of a ring but common.If a person enter a field to help people dont ignore your petient when there suffering. An i know your not defendig rude doctors, But even the nurse tending to my mother told us that were screwed with this guy.I believe that hes in the wrong field of work. ---

Hey Perrai, first things first. I’m glad your mom is feeling better, and I understand the need to protect family. I wouldn’t hesitate to take aggressive action if my mom’s health was at risk. **I respect that.** However, I can’t say I would have chosen that form of aggressive action. You’re close to being a legal adult now. Are you aware of the consequences of being charged with assault and battery? Time spent in court, time spent in jail/prison, money spent on fines/court matters/programs, is just the tip of the iceberg. Legal matters _will_ follow you for the rest of your life when you are an adult, and honestly at age 17, there’s a possibility you’ll be charged as an adult. If you get charged, get a good lawyer. Hopefully, you won’t get charged, let alone convicted, but if you do, I really hope it’s on your juvenile record, not your permanent record. Finally, you mention in and out of the ring. It sounds like you’re either a boxer or otherwise trained in some form of fighting. You should be aware that if you reach a certain level of training, your limbs are considered ‘deadly weapons’ and if you assault someone that’s assault with a deadly weapon, not simple assault. Other than the obvious pitfalls of legal action being taken against you, punching people out and coercing them into treating your mom isn’t…ahh..shall we say the smoothest approach? I would not have waited 5 hours to confront the doctor. I would have waited no longer than 30 minutes to ask about the availability of the doctor if he had told me ‘a few minutes’. I would have gone to a nurse, another doctor or whoever and let them know that the doctor told us a couple minutes and it’s been a half hour. I would repeat this every 30 minutes until they either assigned us a new doctor or my mom received treatment. Depending on the responses I get, I would increase my intensity accordingly. If the doctor was flirting, I would call him out on that right there. I would get into contact with someone with authority. I would let him know which doctor it was, let them know that they told me ‘a few minutes’, that it has been over a couple hours, no to mention that you saw him flirting with a nurse and that I consider that completely irresponsible and negligent. I’m sure you would have received much faster care than waiting for 5 hours, then dragging the doctor to treat her. You can fight this guy in a much smarter manner Perrai, I’m sure of it. If you do go to court, try and get a nurse (preferably a nurse that was involved in the treatment of your mom) to testify that the doctor was negligent. That will hurt him loads more than you punching him in the face. He’ll lose his license, and thus his job. Chances are, it will hurt him very badly, not only financially, and emotionally, but psychologically as well. You really want to hurt a guy? Sweep his feet out from underneath him. For most people in the rat race of life, a good paying job is definitely the solid footing you want to sweep away. ---

I know my action where justified i lost control.And it not like I didn’t try to find my mother another doctor. Also My mother lawyer seem to be on top of this situation. He got a hold of the man were suing records and for what he told us well have a solid case against him.Seeing that hes has a nice little record of negligence law suits. Also if we don’t do so well hes sure to get my punishment down to a misdemeanor. and I’m hoping his license is taken away a man like this isn’t meant to be doctor ---

Your state will have some agency in charge of physician licencing and handling of complaints. Look up your state laws/regulations related to the practice of medicine and see if there are any guidelines he violated. Then file a complaint enumerating the violations. I got in a little (nonphysical) tussle with a physician. He ended up losing his licence to practice after I filed a complaint. ---

My mother had to be re admitted to the hospital today this time they want her to stay a few nights for testing.
