Hi Everyone and pleased to meet u all. I am form the island of Malta in Europe. I am 29 years old, Male.

I have been interested for a long time in [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) and about 8 years ago I had bought Pheromol Factor from love-scent which didn’t make any effect. Well now I am willing to try again.

I sometimes have from Panic Attacks due to some anxiety but it is controlled with medication. I contacted Steveo to tell him about my condition and said pheromones might not be for me.

I am still very interested in pheromones though.

What do you think?

All help assistance is appreciated.

I think they might work for you, but ask yourself how you are in getting in touch with possibly bizarre or frightening situations and feelings? Steve-O has been into pheros far longer than I, so obviously he knows what he’s talking about. I tried pheros before and they did very little, it wasn’t until I found this site that I realized, wow, they do work (even the ones I bought before), and then I fell down the Rabbit Hole.

I did not realize what a deep Rabbit Hole this was, and it scared me a bit starting out when I finally caught on to what was going on. Plus, pheros can have wierd effects on you, especially once you get to the level where you can actually use them (yes they require skill to use)- emotionally you must be strong willed and have a definite sense of “self”. It’s really a form of hypnosis, you are choosing what to suggest to people, and it won’t make anybody “controlled” by you if they don’t want to be controlled.

The truth is we all use pheromones every day, we just aren’t aware of how. We may not use them the way people who are true “pheronauts” do, however, and that creates problems for somebody with a medical condition, since pheros are mostly hormones and chemicals that travel through the air and might affect somebody else’s biochemistry (and our own as well), and some of us use very high dosages of pheromones to influence. I’ll be frank, if you are easily upset or startled, exploring pheromones is probably not for you. Explore some other way to positively influence people- good, natural hygene, nice fragrances, social skills therapies and self-help books are all useful and there are ways to influence people beyond the way you smell.

I’ve only had 2 panic attacks in my whole life (well in the past), but I have had depression in the past (usually seasonal related). Androstenone seems to bug the hell out of me, causes alot of anxiety in high doses. So it might not be good for you. Plus as I said, the realization of what they do can be scary/spooky in its own right.

SteveO obviously works for the company and as such he or any of the other employees need to err on the side of caution in advising you.

I am not but then again I am not a medical professional so my opinion does not really count.

I personally do not think that that several of the pheromones will affect you however you do need to understand that all can affect your mood so if you do decide to proceed you need to do so with some caution: as in start any testing lightly and slowly.

If you do wish to proceed lightly and slowly I would start with something that would most likely not cause anxiety or panic. Something along that line might be [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/) which makes most people feel happy or IO which usually helps people open up and talk.

Note that IFM has definitely been know to cause guys feel depressed and anything with 'none in it can make you feel aggressive or in your case may cause anxiety. If that is the case then Ammo, TUTH of A314 could cause this.

SteveO may very well be right. Most of us are not doctors though, and cannot really tell or guess how any medications you’re on may influence the pheromonal impact on yourself. I Think I would suggest avoiding anything with Androstenone in it though, as that could easily have a negative and/or undesirable effect on you.

If you do want to try pheromones though, you might try some of the social pheormones like Instant Shine, Instant Openness, Instant Honesty or [Instant Gentleman](https://a314.com/product/gentleman/). I think that as you start with low doses and are conservative, you will probably be ok. But again, I am not a qualified medical professional and am only offering an opinion.

Pheromone are **NOT** by any stretch a form of hypnosis. They do **NOT** have the ability to control or make anybody **change** their mind about you. They simply act as enhancers and can help to “grease the wheels”.

Think of pheromones more like very subtle nudges. If a person is interested in you, they may respond. If not, you can beat them over the head all you want and they are not suddenly going to become interested.

I hate disclaimers, but to protect myself and Androtics…

_ **The following are the ideas, thoughts, and opinions of me, Jon, the real name behind Data4. I am not a doctor, nor am I presuming to advise in the stead of any medical professional. Androtics does not necessarily share my beliefs and opinions, as they are strictly my own.** _

I take Effexor 75mg for depression and anxiety. More for depression, but it does have a component that alleviates mild to moderate anxiety. I’ve been on this stuff since before my divorce in February. I’ve reduced my dose to 1 pill every other day, and supplementing it with meditation and breathing exercises to control stress, which for me is what leads to anxious and depressed states.

I have not noticed any ill effects from pheromone use, however my condition is more situational than chronic. As time has gone by, I’m noticing that my dependence on the meds is less. I’ll be getting with my doctor soon to see about reducing the dose to 35mg and then eventually wean myself off it. Unfortunately, going cold turkey for more than 5 or 6 days can lead to panic attacks, so weaning is required.

I’m just posting this for informative purposes only, as your condition may be chronic and more severe. You might even consider asking your doctor if colognes containing androstenol, androstenone, etc would cause any sort of problems. (it’s easier to try to slip that into conversation, rather than saying bluntly “Hey Doc, can I use pheromones?”, since some professionals still refuse to believe that [human pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/) work.).

Hi Data 4,

I use Cipralex 10mg half of the pill so 5mg and sedoxil 1mg also half so 0.50mg.

I did ask plainly my doc can I use pheromones as I am very open with him and he had nothing wrong with it. Still asking is never bad right??

Thanks to all of you who are leaving your opinions.

Nope, not at all. Just respect that SteveO said what he said to err on the side of caution, as Boss said. Use the pheromones at your own risk. It’s not likely that you’ll encounter some kind of deadly mix, but caution is always prudent.

You’ll want to start small. Try getting a few to-gos on the [social pheromones](https://a314.com/product-category/social-pheromones/). IShine is a good one to try, and only use 1 spray to start.

It’ll also help to know what you’re wanting to accomplish by using pheros, so we can direct you to more specifically tuned products.

Going off instant shine is like leaving a great party or a movie- you feel “down” a bit. If that bugs you and causes you to have panic attacks, you definitely don’t want instant shine. I also experience something similar with androsterone (Instant Gentleman)- I feel a bit “naked”, for lack of a better term. This lasts for 3-5 minutes and then I feel adjusted. It’s sort of like changing clothes- you feel different depending on what clothes you are wearing- a sunday suit, jogging suit, bathing suit, nothing, etc. I can imagine situations where feeling “naked” might be uncomfortable, even if it is transitory.

And I do it can be like hypnosis/trance, it is possible to give suggestions to people by using pheromone (though they don’t have to be used that way, but if you want to really influence people, you have to be aware of the influence). It doesn’t control people, but it does involve suggestions (or nudges as Mark puts it) to a part of a person’s being that most people are not usually aware of- call it the lower brain or the “subconscious”- pheromones are talking to people on a non-rational level in a different part of the brain than speech. Probably a good deal of what we “think” originates from this part of our brain/mind, most of the time we walk around on auto-pilot and that’s why pheromones can work, we use them as shortcuts to say “I feel attracted to person X” or “I feel trusting around person Y”. Of course there are other influences, as well- our sense of smell is just one sense. We use our eyes and hearing too, and on rare occasions we use our reasoning powers as well to decide if something is favorable or not.

For some people, all these new experiences can be freaky, just like skidiving, riding roller coasters, or a dozen other things can alter your mental states, scare you, etc, which, however melodramatic it sounds, can result in injury/death. That’s why most places put warnings outside of amusement park rides, and I’m sure this is what Steve is thinking; he can’t assume any responsibility for your mental health or the possible consequences of you using pheromones for whatever reason. We live in a litigious society where often times it’s assumed people will not act like adults and own up to their choices, so companies have to be careful.

Plus I’m sure Steve’s a great guy and would be worried about you and wants to keep you safe. 🙂

Ammo, 1x strength. Even though you’re approaching 30, I’m going to play it safe and recommend the lower strength. You can always increase the sprays if you find it isn’t working for you. Start with one spray for a week and see what happens.

A314 is widely regarded around here as THE work pheromone. With a little [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/), you can get a friendly and worthy of respect vibe going that’s great at work, plus is attractive to women who are status conscious.

I made the statement that pheromones are not like hypnosis because while I agree that both hypnosis and pheromones act on us at the sub-conscious level, I believe the term hypnosis sounds more ominous and threatening than something like suggestions or nudges.

Pheromones connect with the Limbic System within the brain, which is one of the more ancient parts of the brain and constitutes our unconscious thought processes. The Limbic System is responsible for generating emotions, appetites and urges that help us behave in ways to survive.

Even though hypnosis is really only providing suggestions or nudges to the sub-conscious mind and will not make anybody do anything they do not want, or are not already predisposed to, there are still people that believe that one can be hypnotized into doing anything. And TV and movies have not helped the perception much! 🙂

Last, pheromones are part of our natural biological makeup, while hypnosis is an artificial intrusion into the mind. Granted, what we are using are artificially synthesized copies of those pheromones, they are duplicating the real thing. 🙂

Right… and the more I thought about it, the more I decided to delete my post. If I seemed to “called you out”, I’m sorry. You don’t “have” to be interested in the subconscious stuff that pheromones do to the mind/body to use them, but it can help. Just like you don’t need to know what a carburetor is to drive a car, but it can be very useful. I think alot of people don’t start seeing how they work, however, until they start looking past the “obvious”.

In fact, I sat down and thought about it, I could concieve of situations where it might be bad to know how pheromones work. Suppose we discover a pheromone that makes everything you say much more likely to be obeyed. You use this pheromone for work, and constantly in your social life, aware of the effects, and gradually becomming part of your unconscious expectations. . Then one day for some reason you don’t have the pheromone and you are used to telling people what to do and you believe this on a subconscious level. You might be perplexed by the response and it will be a learning experience all over again. Sometimes it is indeed better just to “go with the flow” and have no expectations.

I can think of other situations, though, where it requires some self-awareness. Like when I was driving under the influence of MX172 (not that I approve of this + the usual disclaimers). In the back of my mind I was expecting cars to just stop whatever they were doing for me, because I was really important and had to get somewhere. Good thing I have a rational part of my brain and knew I was being influenced. 🙂 To a novice that probably sound really scary, as if I were driving drunk, but it’s not as bad as alcohol because alcohol disables your reasoning, pheromones don’t.

I didn’t see it as you calling me out, I just wanted to make sure that anyone not really familiar with pheromones would understand that pheros can not and will not make anybody do anything. And that they didn’t pereive pheros as mind control magic. 🙂

I agree, and that’s one of the things I think people don’t realize when they try pheromones, and something I had problems with understanding, that I wouldn’t magically have things happen around me. When scientists generally talk about pheromones, this is the effect they are usually talking about- insects and lower mammals instinctively reacting to smells. In humans its much more complicated because we are, for the most part, quite a bit smarter (some of us anyways LOL 🙂 ).

That’s why I compared it to hypnosis or suggestion, but you are right, most people don’t understand what hypnosis can or cannot do (it can only make you quack like a duck if you want it to… actually hypnosis isn’t a perfect analogy, either… but it’s the closest I can think of. I like my clothing analogy better. Actually I think Tisha thought of it first).

I guess we can agree that it is difficult to explain how pheromones work to somebody who hasn’t become aware of their influence.

“expert in pheromones”? I think there is no such thing. Always something new to learn, new experiences to share. Such a thing does not exist.

The truth is… you will never know how you react to pheromones until you actually use them, and that involves risks to you and personal responsibility; don’t blame anybody but yourself if you have a panic attack. I believe most of the “Instant” products, except [Instant Female Magic](https://a314.com/product/instant-female-magic/) or Turn Up the Heat, are relatively safe for anybody, in moderation. “Instant Shine” can be a downer when it wears off, and if you have “drug seeking behavior”, might not be the best thing for you. I wouldn’t say it’s “drug” like, but some people might try and use it that way- I think it’s more like “turning up the volume”, like a party in your head and everybody’s invited 🙂 The putatives and “experimones” and test mixes? Forget those, they are too much of a question mark, an unknown for you to even think about trying.

I know one way you can use pheros, without any risk- bath/shower regularly. Seriously. Some of the pheros out there can produce “bad” feelings in some people, some of them probably even come from your own body. Wash 'em down the drain. Some of those pheros may even be contributing to your anxiety problems.

None of the above is endorsed by Androtics/Smartmones and is purely my personal opinion. OK?

Might I ask… what triggers your panic attacks? Social situations? You need to get some talking therapy and behavioral therapy for that. Medications are fine but desensitization may eventually let you get by without medications, if your doctor approves. If social situations make you profoundly uneasy, I wouldn’t recommend any pheromones until your doctor thinks it is OK, because all pheromones tend to promote social interactions and social feelings. I’m socially anxious and respond well to Instant Honesty and Instant Openness, but it’s also been years since I had a panic attack and hyperventillation.

Dear Daedelus 76,

Not even I know what is triggering it. I am very social, i work as a customer care clerk in a local council office. What I know is that in the past I sometimes used to have some frightening situations like I get afraid of dying of getting sick and those type of stuff, I got over those thank god, still 2 years ago I got married and after about 6 months while I was asleep all of a sudden started my first panic attack out of nothing during the night, I thought I had a heart attack. After that a lot followed even twice a day. So I went to a psychiatrist for help and gave me medication. When I tried to stop medication with doctors advice the panic attack got worse so now I take very low dose but i take medication as its still effective on me on low doses. i also went to a psychologist but had no success with that one, talks a lot hahah but I got nowhere, I am very very much better than before, I dont have bad thoughts like before.

i wish that I stop the medication but i think its still a bit early.

Interesting… usually panic attacks, at least here in the US, are assosciated with social anxiety or specific phobias/fears. You seem to have a generalized fear. It may be genetic for you, or the result of very early trauma or the way you were you brought up. Perhaps someone died when you were young, and the death was handled poorly by you or your family, or perhaps you have fears you are not a good spouse. Many things are possible. For many years I was intensely afraid of the movie E.T. (can you believe that? I love that movie now… but it can be intense for a child) and of funeral homes/cemetaries, and only later did I realize why, when I was adult- I was afraid of the feelings assosciated with these experiences that I got when I was a child and never felt comfortable about talking about them and picking part just exactly what I was afraid of.

After talking to my mother when I was a late teen, I realized why I hated funeral homes. When my grandmother died, my father didn’t talk for a month and the house was silent, and I felt guilty about the experience. I did not go to the funeral and say goodbye to my grandmother. I felt bad and began repressing her memory and memories of the event- I hid things belong to her, I believed it was wrong to speak of her or of her death- gradually I forgot alot about her or the event. Some of this stuff was so repressed it only came back into my conscious mind when I confronted my mother and she told me the truth. When my grandfather died shortly after this revelation had happened, I did not go to the funeral (I was in school) but I was able to deal with it by cherishing his memory and making peace with my regrets.

The same thing is true of ET. I never felt comfortable talking about why he looked so wierd, or why the “Bad people” were after him… it didn’t make sense to me. All I saw was pain, spookiness, and suffering, it made no sense. Now I understand it is a universal story that, while scary, I can personally relate to it- everybody feels different and “alien”, every lonely kid wishes they had a friend with special powers, etc. But as a kid it didn’t make any sense at all, and I was ridiculed for my fears and taunted. I only started watching the film again later as a young adult, and I realized why I was scared- I was afraid because of subconscious influences caused by unintentional _conditioning_.

Are you comfortable talking about your feelings with your psychiatrist/psychologist? Perhaps there is a feeling behind your anxiety you are not exploring and confronting. You might benefit from hypnosis from a psychologist familiar with hypnotherapy and who is reputable and ethical. You might also just benefit from a long course of talking therapy exploring your past, sometimes things just pop up on their own, and often this is the better approach as “bad” hypnosis can cloud your memory and introduce false memories and impressions.

When I said pheromones could induce bizarre experiences, this is not entirely true. It only refers to what I call “phero-reading” or “vibe-reading”, reading the “vibe” or “aura” of a pheromone. This involves studying subconscious influences it produces and the inner emotional states, something that can produce anxiety and bizarre feelings (as can any hypnotic or trance state, rarely). However, to just use a [pheromone product](https://a314.com/shop/) does not really have to involve this, but you won’t always pick up on how it is working for you, affecting the social situations. This is so common, a person comes on a board and says “pheromone X isn’t working. I took Pheromone X and no girls talked to me”.

I thought the exact same thing when I tried pheromones, until I realized alot of pheromones only exert their influence subconsciously, very subtle, and I began to seek out the “vibes” that I was experiencing. Initially this was somewhat jarring as I rarely interacted with this part of my mind (except experiencing trance and hypnosis), and initially did not recognize the familiar sensation, but I can handle it now. Some people are uncomfortable dealing with their subconscious and opening up to that, and for them this kind of introspection is not good without guidance (it can cause anxiety), but they can still use pheromones and just “trust” they will work for them- just buy from a reputable company, use low doses. It’s not perfect but it’s like trying to drive your car without knowing much about what’s under the hood/bonnet- acceptable but knowledge usually gives you more insight. Some people are not ready to find out, or perhaps they don’t have the time, resources, or inclination. It is not wrong or right, it’s just how they are and how it is.

Hi Daedelus 76,

Well I had a trauma when I was a small child. I fell into a metal bucket full of boiling water which my mum used to wash white clothes in and I had severe scolds (burns) or what they call them. Well I was rushed to hospital where i had to stay for more than a week and I was going to undergo a skin graft operation. It was a friday and from what my parents saythe doctors told them the next monday I was going into surgery. On monday morning the where no more visible wounds nothing (they said it was a miracle).

The psychiatrist said that this situation could have been in my subconcious and said that when I needed most my parents could not find them as in hospital I was confined into a room from what I remember that no one could come next to me due to hygiene reasons etc.

You mentioned ET, well now that you mentioned it that was a movie that scared the hell out of me when I was a kid and up to recent years I still was sometimes afraid of aliens during the night etc. Well I also got over this.

I am not a doctor or scientist but I do have training in pheromone use and human behavioral sciences. I am not employed by Androtics. As mentioned above pheromones are still very much being explored so you will find experienced people here but there are no real experts yet. That being said …

Thank you for providing some information on your condition and the meds your taking. This defiantly helps in answering your questions.

Your use of pheromones is a personal decision only you can make. Steveo and Androtics do not know what effect it will have on a person with anxiety disorder. Research has not advanced that far yet so they are morally obligated to take the safe approach and say they are not for you at this time. I tend to agree but if you do decide to try them I suggest you approach it very very carefully and at your own risk. There are a few reasons which I will cover below.

First off your on meds, Cipralex and Sedoxil are mind altering medications.

Not to concerned about cipralex which is used to control depression by preventing the brain from reabsorbing serotonin. Many pheromone users take anti depressants and have good results with pheromones

Sedoxil on the other hand is different. It is designed to slow the central nervous system, can put you in a hypnotic state and is a strong sedative.
Its used to control fear and behavior and to cause a reduction in mood as well as a few other unrelated things.

Obviously your doctor believes this is the treatment for you and I am not questioning that at all but pheromones effect the users behavior as well as people around them and may not interact well with sedoxil. pheromones increase mood, your doctor is giving you meds to decrease mood.

Secondly …

What your describing sounds to me like separation anxiety. Fear of being separated by death or other circumstances from loved ones and those close to you. Yes even by aliens as a child when you saw ET. This was probably triggered by the traumatic experience you went through as a child and being frightened and having to be separated from your parents due to hygiene reasons. As a adult you can understand the need for this. As a child it is very traumatic.

Now pheromones will not worsen separation anxiety as long as your confident in wearing them and not afraid they will have a adverse reaction. But just by asking for a expert opinion and voicing your concerns about side effects shows it is something that is on your mind and concerns you so it could possibly trigger anxiety in you.

Your doctor has already expressed that he feels there would be no problem using pheromones. I am not sure if he is familiar with them and many doctors do not believe them to be effective so they dismiss it as unharmful. On the other hand he knows you best and if he is familiar with pheromones then its best to listen to him.

To help lessen the possibly of subconscious thoughts and fears about using pheromones triggering anxiety. I think you need to be aware of a few things…

pheromones will not cure your disorder. They will not cause health risks, They do have side effects at times but they are mild and not permanent.

People with sensitive skin can sometimes get rashy just like when they use any other lotion or perfume type product. Its not permanent or harmful.
The smell of pheromones are not pleasant and you will pick up on them in some products. They are not unsanitary in any way despite the smell. In fact they are in a alcohol carrier so they are more sanitary.

You can get a headache from the smell if you are sensitive to scents to begin with. If cologne use has never bothered you in the past this will in all likelihood not bother you now.

Keep in mind that using them is designed to bring you closer to those around you not to separate them from you however I do urge that you do not use any product with Androstadienone in it or Androstenone in it. These two molecules are strong and can cause negative mood reactions.

If you make the decision to try pheromones, use pheromones that bring a feeling of well being and closeness. [Instant Openness](https://a314.com/product/instant-openness/), Instant Honesty, Instant Shine, the sunshine series.
