few people seem to lurk and read, they tend to start posting the same or similar questions.
I wondered about the reps at first, then realized how to get them, most forums, they are not worth anything, and no one seems to pay attention because some users have a million and others have 1 or two both are well respected. both are members for roughly the same amount of time.

oh well more reps are always helpful.

I do agree with D4 here though!

Not because I think anyone is wrong, but the rep power a person has is not based on popularity, it’s based on posts that others consider valuable. I don’t post as often and therefore my rep power is considerably lower than others who do. I’m OK with that and really don’t care about it.

Take for instance MHarris, the most intelligent person on this forum, creator of mones and this entire sub-culture. His posts are brilliant by any standard and little rep. He dosen’t post often anymore, or does he? (maybe he does)

Anyway rep points should be based on value, not just because you wnat them.

Perfect example, I must find his posts and rep him more he really is brilliant. I think we should all rep him 😉

If reps were money, I wonder how freely they’d be given, and how much more effort members would put into trying to make valuable postings and contributations to the forum in order to get those reps.

I remember when reps first came out I was like “wtf is this gayness, a popularity contest” I asked for them to neg me back to zero instantly LOL.

Seriously, I don’t spend much time here, I’m always on the move, Ive been here long enough, you can find my sn splattered across the site, don’t really care much for reps to be honest, unless they give me discounts then hell yea, rep away, if not _shrugs_

When researching/viewing a thread I don’t look at who has more reps, meaning if one person has a lot more than another, that automatically means the person with the most reps have more incite, and I only take that persons post seriously, nope, not at all. I view everyones post equally, but thats just me. 🙂

The only thing reps tell me is who’s online more LOL.

Another great point, we all wish the rep system could be perfect but its not. I use my rep allotment everyday because I find 90% of the posts in here are of value to me.

Sometimes it will be a accumulation of posts I have read from a certain individual and I will get to one of the persons not so pheromonal posts and rep them because I am reminded at that time of all the fantastic posts and contributions they have made in the past.

I think all members in here are of value no matter the number under their name

That is a good point from both of you. Everyone’s post are valuable. It is great to be inclusive of everyone, and that is how people learn - they share, people respond and knowledge is interchanged.

In many cases we probably do not know what a persons background and/or knowledge level is too…like bosshanks - he could be MHarris

I will admit that I hand out reps to those that leave great reports. For example one user posted that Extendo was on sale and both sprays came together instead of seperately, which prompt me to order them. The same user also made a graph showing which sprays he found to last longer. The effort alone deserved reps, not just to hand it out as a pat on the back, but to encourage such reports and give me a chance to thank the person.

As far as just handing them out like cupcakes, NO. That I won’t do. Get off line and test, then i’ll rep ya. =P

My first impression was that reps were stupid. I usually base my trust on their post count and how long they’ve been here. For the most part this works (and rep count is generally proportional to those 2 things).

I realized another good use for reps. When i post a report and get a rep or two, i know that report helped someone and i should structure my future reports like that. It’s nice to have a discreet and easy to use way of letting someone know that report helped them. When i get positive feedback its very refreshing/encouraging. This positive feedback, through repping, encouraged me to keep the structure of my journal and to update my posts to reflect my new organizational style of putting a small overview of products used including the mixes and hit quality of each mix. Without such feedback i would have thought it a waste of time and dropped it altogether.

Data4 made an interesting post. I’m glad he found such an elegant way to say it.

Tfer, yes I know I have overdue reports to write. I want to share my amazing aventures of using pheros in my everyday life, so that people can see what have changed and whether the reactions I got are similar to theirs or not.

I am very busy this week as I have to keep practicing my dance routine for the biggest ever event in my whole life: dancing in front of around one thousand people :o .

I have never ever performed in public before and that is a colossal step forward.

A little background on my dancing: I started learning how to dance about one month ago, free of charge in a church. We dance for the glory of God. Initially I didn’t want to perform saying that yea I’m just a beginner, my moves won’t be good, blablabla you know those self talk that let us down… .Maybe God has a purpose for me, He wants me to reach out to people 🙂 .

My friends are also asking me whether I’m free or not so we can go out 😃 . Ammo sure pulls them in LOL. They got a sniff of pheros & want to meet me more often.

That leads me to an advice I can give. Don’t just sit down in front of your computer & read ‘dating’ ebooks. Go out there in the field & try out the techniques.

One example I find funny is people read ebooks on how to be ‘confident’. You can read hundreds of books on ‘confidence’ but if you don’t go out and actually meet people & socialise you WON’T be confident!!

Stay tune for my reports on A314. I promise to write & post them 🙂 .
