Hey all!
I wonder if any of you guys can tell me (if Michael can chime in, it will be great) why is IFM unscented when most of the other products in the Instant line are [Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/) scented.
Does extra scent reduce the efficacy of IFM? I am afraid to cover it with anything thinking it might take something away from its effects?

It’s due to some legal restrictions with a molecule it uses.

We’re not allowed to make it a fragrance product. We are allowed to use herbal additives, however, as long as they’re not there for scent.

You can get it with either the herbal additive or completely unscented, it’s your choice. I tend to feel the herbal enhanced one works a little better. (and it’s definitely not there for scent – one user praises how the herbal enhanced IFM works, at the same time he says it smells goat-like on him 🙂)

If can’t legally recommend you add your own scent, but if you did, it shouldn’t hurt how it works whatsoever.

Let me know if that helps!

Monsieur Harris, thanks a million for this post! Extremely interesting! 🙂

Oh and… nbully - Whereas one person said “goat”, and I said “hay”, my lovely daughter said “flowers and tea”.

The smell is okay. At first I couldn’t stand more than one spray. But now I am building a tolerance for it. I didn’t have much hope with it as my previous A1 bottle (bought from another site) was a dud, but IFM definitely has a very calming and soothing effect on women. It has brought some peace in my life.

IFM certainly works..I have the original uncented version. when I run out I’ll get the herbal version…probably lasts longer on the skin and produces a more steady release than the completely unscented version.

Well I may be revealing a “great secret” here…

I’m not sure exactly which version of IFM I have, I just ordered it “off the rack” with no specific requests if I recall.

I _did_ notice it had quite a different “scent” than the IShine and IO I had also ordered and have been using, but I really didn’t know what that scent was..

Until yesterday.

I wandered into our one and only health food store in this “city” just to see what was available and what may have changed since my last visit about three months ago. Discovered they had_finally_ restocked some of their EO’s, so I took a sniff of the sample bottles. Was going along fine till I got to one, took a whiff, and almost screamed “IFM!”

“What was it?” you ask?

Salvia sclarea, AKA clary sage.

When I got home I dug out my little aromatherapy reference book. It stated “The oil has a marked relaxing effect and may be used to treat stress, high blood pressure, depression, and anxiety. It is also excellent for the female system.”

It is “soothing, anti-inflammatory, calming, astringent, tonifying, warming, relaxing, uplifting.”

BINGO!

Hi Rbt!

Excellent info, thank you! Heehee I knew it was more “hay” than “goat”!

Now I like it even better!

I did my taxes today 😮 My IFM bottle took a beating, let me tell you! 😃

But all is well that ends well. About 8-10 sprays later, (spread over the day) I’m ahead of schedule with the work, and ready to meet with my accountant tomorrow. I didn’t even have to resort to “Plan B”! (Meaning dump the box of receipts on her desk and hope for the best)

That really would accentuate the main [pheromone](https://a314.com/) in IFM..if thats the EO in it.

There’s a blend in there, but that’s a major part of it.

If you want to be all detective like about it, I’ll throw you a bone: We actually use a special version of this EO, breed for a certain quality. I’ve mentioned that quality in the forum before, and you could have fun hunting it down. 🙂

The primary molecule in IFM is something of a double edged sword – women love it, and men would probably do without it (except that they love how it effects women).

Using the sword as a metaphor, the “herbal” blend in IFM acts to increase the sharpness of the edge that women love, and blunt the edge that men don’t prefer. Makes it better on both counts.

Scent issues aside, I prefer the “herbal” one myself, that would recommend that you specify that one if we add a choice between “non-herbal” and “herbal” to the cart.
