It’s one of the essential pieces of that mysterious thing we call “dominance.” All naturals have good posture. If you have bad posture, you simply won’t get attraction. It’s that simple.”

> BRILLIANCE!! This is why I had to respond INSTANTLY!! I dunno if there is a name for this but Ima call it BODY INTELLIGENCE. This is an incredibly POWERFUL phenomenon. I got lots of examples but this one jumps to mind: walked into office w/good posture this morning.. and all of a sudden im handing out orders left and right. IOW, you ::BECOME:: what your body is doing! Putting your body in a ‘stressed out’ posture, induces stress. Putting body in a ‘strong’ posture induces stregth. etcetc.

>
> And when it comes to mating, it gets EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS with the TIME AND ENERGY that goes into posing.
>
> Think about GIRLS. Could it be that they have stronger response to ‘posing game’ than to all other game? After all, it seems that ‘posing game’ would be the only one that speaks directly to her INNER ANIMAL, no? Could it be that her INNER ANIMAL is INSTANTLY TURNED OFF when facing BAD POSTURE??
>
> Think about ‘dominant’. How big % of ‘being dominant’ is accomplished through posing/posture? 80%? More? Its certainly hard to be dominant from a weak posture, right?

> [@](#):

> It is true that people react differently to you if you have great (=dominant) posture. However, I do not agree that you have to hit the gym for that. I started with Ashtanga Yoga in 2006, and it has tremendously helped me. Maybe it is only a coincidence, but I do think that there was a strong correlation between my progress in pick-up and in Yoga. Also, Yoga made me tremendously aware of posture.
> …
> Also, if you really do have great posture, you will get compliments at least semi-regularly. People suddenly ask you whether you are a dancer (or did dance a lot when you were younger) etc. It’s kind of similar to style. You will know if you have good style (or posture) because people will comment on it.

Uhhh Huh. There is a resemblance. Does he look anything like the avatar?

One of the things that straight posture has not been given credit for yet is improving the energy flow through our bodies. I heard about chakras and kundalini and chi and all that for years. But I never gave it much weight.

Till now.

Last couple of months I’ve been doing a few old yoga positions. They are not so much intended for strength or flexibility. Their prime purpose is to open and strenghthen the chakras. Must be one of the really old styles of yoga from one of the Tibetan monasteries that was really isolated way out in the Himalayas. They only ever developed 5 positions.

[The Five Rituals - Eye of Revelation - Peter Kelder!](http://www.fiverituals.com/?afl=60130)

I stand taller, move more gracefully, but most importantly, I can feel the energy beginning to flow in my body. I can feel alot more of the energy flowing in me when my posture is right.

So I’ve been working on my posture too. I might have to follow the thread.

Good exercises. I did them daily for quite a while.

Not sure I buy the stories behind them.

Before anyone drops $40 on the linked website google “5 tibetians.” There are a lot of free explanations on how to do these exercises on the web.

This is entirely true… when I went home a few weekends ago, my dad pointed out that my arms were bigger and that I looked more fit than the last time he had seen me. The funny bit is that I was sitting right next to my brother, who’s skinner than me but probably has bigger arms and is definitely in better shape than I am. The only difference? He was hunched forward in the shape of a question mark with his spine, while I had my chest held proudly.

It’s one of those things that you don’t notice the reaction till you try it. It’s like wearing a smile for no apparent reason in public… people are more apt to approach you, people smile back, and the general atmosphere around you matches the mood you emit.

Walking around with strong posture (not ridiculous about it) will get you good attention.

Yah, I know that was sloppy of me. My excuse is that I was trying to spare you from my usual string of links. The Wikipedia article does that very nicely, thank you.

The original book is $10 from Borderland Sciences [The Original Five Rites of Rejuvenation: The Eye of Revelation](http://www.borderlands.com/eyeofrevelation.html) I actually bought one of the 1989 printing from Harbor Press. I read it and thought ‘oh that’s nice’. Stuck it in the bookshelf. For almost twenty years.

Interestingly, with all the surfing and searching that I do, the most important (to me) things that I find are directly related to the people and things I studied all those years ago. You know, back in ancient times, before there was an internet.

If you’re going to practice, the best instruction today is probably Carolinda Witt in Austrailia. [THE FIVE TIBETANS (T5T) & Energy Breathing Program - Carolinda Witt](http://www.t5t.com/) Especially good if you have some physical problem (bad back, etc.) that would prevent you from getting started.

Now all you have to do is click on all the links in the wiki article and then cut and paste the searchs for the remaining terms and titles. (It is refreshing to look at that wikipedia article from a new perspective now that I’ve been practicing for a while.)

If you’re gonna search - !!! _Dump Google_ !!!
Try [Clusty the clustering search engine](http://clusty.com/) Fast, easy, lots of ideas.
Or [trovando - the engine for searchers](http://www.trovando.it/) If you have some computing power and some time.
And whole there’s a whole world of other search engines and aggregators.
