# Instant Openness: "She's Going to Stalk You"

I’ve been going back to basics lately and using consumer line products, especially the socials. I’d forgotten how amazing these things are on their own.

I was at the checkout line at Walmart wearing 4 sprays of IO. I wasn’t in a very sociable mood, but I ended up making some funny comment to the cashier and she laughed. She asked me some question (I forget what) and I must have said something funny in response because the cashier in the next line and her customer (an elderly woman) both laughed as well. Then suddenly it was the 4 of us talking about the most random crap in the world. I’d never normally do this – usually I just get my stuff and leave. None of the women were particularly attractive. So I can only attribute this chattiness to IO.

Then out of the blue, the other cashier says to me: “You’d better watch out, or she [the elderly woman] might start stalking you!”

In my mind, I was thinking, “Huh? Where the hell did that come from?”

And then I realized that there was some sort of attraction going on. Maybe not in an overt sexual way, but something about the IO seems to make the wearer appear attractive and fun. My cashier seemed to be affected in the same way. She was very young (16 maybe) and even though we had joked around a bit and she seemed very comfortable talking to me, I could tell she was feeling shy and nervous because she fumbled with my receipt and dropped it on the floor and then apologized profusely.

Last point: I think it is important to note that when I put on the IO, I was really not feeling sociable at all. Even when I got to the store I was planning on buying my stuff and leaving without making any conversation. I certainly wasn’t giving off a physical aura of “fun, approachable guy”. And yet somehow the IO managed to work its magic anyway 🙂
