# Instant Shine smell? So… I got my stuff today. I ordered to go sizes of: • Instant Shine • Instant Sexyness • Instant Openess • [Instant Honesty](https://a314.com/product/instant-honesty/) • MX135 • MX134 I received them this morning at work, of course I wasn’t able to wait til I got home… so I did 2 sprays of Instant Shine on my neck in my office. It was fine at first – I got a little something. Definitely something was different but I wasn’t sure what it was. Then after about 1/2 hr, it started smelling a bit weird on me. Very musky, kinda BO-ish… I think it’s stinky, to be honest. I got really self conscious. But I haven’t asked anyone anything. I’m kinda afraid to. And I haven’t really gotten any reaction from anyone, positive or negative. So I put purfume on to cover it up, Bond No.9 Scent of Peace (which has light musk in it) but it wasn’t much better. I really noticed the smell. Then just for the hell of it, thoguht to try a little bit of Instant Sexyness on my wrist. It smelled good at the beginning so I put a little on my hair as well. After about 20 min, I did definitely feel… sorta aroused! It felt kinda fuzzy. It was very interesting. But then it turned stinky after a while. The effect wore off on myself, but the smell. ugh. I did read someone else saying similar things to this, and I was wondering if there’s anything I can do… or is it just me? I’ve been putting coconut scented lotion I keep in my office all day… but I still notice the stinkyness. I’ve been really nervous all day wondering if anyone noticed anything. Not sure what to make of it… any advise? ---

You’re smelling the [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) after the neroli scent fades. From what I’ve noticed with my own use other people do not smell that as much as we do wearing them. If you’re really sensitive to the smell try applying away from you nose. Full size purchases can be scent customized with a few different options. Your mx135 to go is scented with the popular chocolatini. Spray, wait for dry down and apply cover scent is what has worked for me. People near you most likely smell the perfume and coconut lotion. ---

thanks for the reply. I guess I’ll try putting away from my face next. Just right now I can’t wait to go home and take a shower. i have a date this weekend and thought i wanted to try IS on him, but maybe it’s best to try it at home alone to make sure it doesn’t have any adverse effect on myself 1st. ugh. will try different perfume to see what works the best. Will let you know. ---

P.S. recommend for perfume appreciated. I normally wear lighter scents like: • BCBG Girl nature (mostly daytime, at work) • Bvlgari (signature, BLV, Omnia) • PRADA (very spicy, this might cover up the smell…) • Tresor (Lancome) • Bond No9 nuits de Soho Sometimes at night I wear stuff a bit stronger: • Tiffany • Chance (original) by Chanel • Poison (original) by Dior I also have Lolita Lempicka (apple shaped bottle) which is way too sweet for me, but perhaps it will work… ---

I’d say a good way to prevent detecting the pheros later in the evening is to apply the cover earlier in the evening, the sooner after dry down (about 15 minutes after you spray the pheros) the better. I would also say that the stronger the perfume, the more protective the cover will be. Shine is known for having a bit of a rank odor–for me, I can detect it, but it’s pretty slight. I usually dash a cover of either Pink Clouds (Pink Sugar knockoff) or Oscar by Oscar de la Renta over it. [Instant Sexiness](https://phera.com/product/instant-sexiness/) gets fewer complaints, and I’m often comfortable wearing that one without a cover, but sometimes I cover it anyway. It enhances diffusion, after all. Me + this weekend = Sephora. I think the problem is the Sexyness in the hair. I applied it initially around 11am-ish, now it’s 6:30pm – About 2 hrs ago I tied my hair in the back, and the smell didn’t bother me too much anymore. Just let my hair loose now, and it bothers me again. I’ll try keeping the pheros on body & putting just perfume on hair… ---

So after work, I had an appo with a massage therapist (male in his 50’s, married, nicest guy ever). I went in with pheros from this morning, which I could still smell on myself… MAN. By the end of the session, he started mentioning how beautiful I am and I should have men lined up waiting for their turn blah blah. I had seen him about 4-5 times, once a week, and I’m half nekkid most of the time, so we’ve gotten to know each other (lol) and perhaps he’s starting to feel a bit more comfortable. But, but but. It can’t be just that. Gotta be the pheros…! If so, that means it had lasted me about 8-10 hrs. I’m wondering if perhaps one spray is just enough for me? After I came home, I tried 1 spray of Openess on my left elbow pit, covered with Lolita Lempicka. Also applied 1 spray of Sexyness on the right and covered with Chanel Chance. They seem to blend pretty well and I don’t notice the smell. Although the perfume doesn’t smell the way it normally does, but it’s still good. I wonder if I just got used to it? In one day? I’m so tempted to try it on a date this weekend… hmmmmm. ---

Ah thats great, always fun to see obvious spills of thought while using pheromones. You apparently were not stinky as you had worried. 😉 If you’re not getting spacey from wearing, or worried about the smell I see no reason to not use for your date. Enjoy! ---

Hey look your already getting hits 😃 Believe me very few people will be able to detect the mones on you. Your mom may notice that you smell different and people really close to you that you have known a long time but others wont. Usually when they do pick up on it they just know there is something different about you. Ask someone close to you to give it a sniff on you. You dont have to tell them its mones and see what they say. Just say you bought a new perfume and you liked it in the bottle but now your not sure or something. This will make you feel less self conscious. I do notice sometimes less is better with mones and although I get most of my hits in the first 4 to 6 hours sometimes later in the day I still get some hits so its possible. Plus being your massage therapist he is getting pretty close to you so that probably also helped for him to get a wiff of whatever mone was left. Tisha
