i have a pitbull/shepard mix that stays with my grandmother now, keeping her company. they are best friends.

she usually comes to the door and wags like crazy, before whoever is comming walks in…
that is, unless they are strangers,
then she barks and growls.

when i was wearing [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/) more often than not, she was wagging when i got there. i tapered use off, and no difference.

i put them on and stopped by to check in, and met with a very loud angry dog,_until she saw me_.

i get that reaction from her usually when i wear a baseball cap and she cant see my face until she can smell me.

pheromones are rediculously important to identity, unless its just generally smell.

Hi Lor How are you ? 😃

Well from what I have learned at classes at the PO. (yes they make us take dog bite class when we start out) Dogs indentify you by scent long before sight. So if the dogs in the back yard and cant see you walking up to the door dosnt mean he dosnt know your there.

Dogs also sense a persons vulnerabilities. They are more protective of children and elderly then they are of someone in there prime. So I am not surprised your dog reacted that way. I am just glad he recognised you. I am careful myself when wearing pheromones on my route. I know which dogs are safe and which ones are not but when I am wearing pheromones I will call them over to the truck before I get out just to be sure they know its me.

Its a good point to bring up to inform people who interact with animals.

Tisha

Hi Tisha. How do they react to the more cuddly mones? [P74](https://a314.com/product/p74/), EST, TAC, alphanol…? (thinking of some older posts on horses and cats by tacitus, amongst others).

Well they didnt react to [P74](https://pheromonelabs.com/product/p74/) as far as I recall. I dont have Est or Tac.

The nols so far they have been ok with. I would even say maybe a little more friendly once they know its me and step out of protection mode.

My mom has a small dog and she has been fine with everything I wear but she is also very protective of my mom so she will pitch a fit when I first come in. I do notice since I have been wearing certain mones like the nols shes sort is nicer to me, once she acknoledges its me. She was kind of standoffish but know she comes right up to me all happy and lets me pet her.

My cats hate cops and snub me if I have them on. If I leave them on the dresser and they come anywhere near them they will swat the bottle away or leave all in a huff and insulted.

I think what both me and Lor mean though is, just be a little more careful around dogs who know you. Treat them like you would a dog you just met until they can make a visual and they know its you if your wearing some heavy duty mones.

right on tisha.
i mean, im sure everyone suspects animals would behave differently, but im not sure everyone really _knows_ their _own_ pets may think they are strangers until they have evidence of other.

When I was mixing some industrial strength cops in the backyard our two cats came to investigate. I let them sniff the package wrapping and they ran away. It was quite funny.

Could be!

By the way, I met a nubile young lass the other day wearing a “PMS” t shirt. I mentioned she was pretty brave to wear it. Turns out it stood for Pacific Motor Sports but we had a good chuckle over it.

Actually, I’m glad that is what it stood for, and it wasn’t a warning posting she put up. It could have been ugly - with me coming out a bit chewed up.

It is said that fools rush in where angels fear to tread …

The postmaster at my work has the best parking spot and he has a big white PM spray painted on it every year and every year one of us will sneak and add the S to it. He used to get pissed off but he likes it now cause no one will park in his spot especially women. 🙂

Back when I wore women’s Realm, dogs would bark at me like crazy.
