Is anyone here a member of [PerfumeOfLife](http://www.perfumeoflife.org/)? I ask because I found this forum (in a very roundabout way) after reading a post on POL. I love perfume, and have been a member of that forum for a year or two. It seems to me that there is plenty of room for overlap between here and there… ---

Hi, Honeythief! I thought I recognized that name from POL … I’m caribou55313 over there. Lots of members of basenotes here; not so many from POL though I think. ---

I am enrolled over there but almost never remember to checkout their forum. But basenotes, yes. ---

Androtics had a banner ad on Basenotes for a month or so which drew a number of new forum members. Most perfume wearers have either never heard of [pheromone products](https://a314.com/shop/) or think they’re a scam. ---

And yet many perfume wearers choose their fragrance because of the effect it has on themselves and others. How many threads have there been over there (and I presume on basenotes too) where people are asking for the best perfume to receive compliments or get attention from the opposite sex? Oh well, people will believe what they want I suppose - and a lot of products out there almost certainly _are_ a scam. I can understand somebody trying something they got off eBay or an advert in the back of a magazine, nothing happens, and then all [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) get tarred with that same “this is a scam” brush. I would be thinking the same thing if I hadn’t read so much on this forum. There is no way that everybody is faking all this just to trick me into parting with my money 🙂
