> Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), also known as androstenolone, is an endogenous steroid hormone precursor. It is one of the most abundant circulating steroids in humans. DHEA is produced in the adrenal glands, the gonads, and the brain. It functions as a metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of the androgen and estrogen sex steroids both in the gonads and in various other tissues. However, DHEA also has a variety of potential biological effects in its own right, binding to In the United States...

I’ve been taking this supplement, and have noticed increased chattiness from people who normally aren’t so talkative. I’m unsure if this is a coincidence, or if this is the natural secretion of my own [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/)? 😕

its the precursor of the listed hormones, which means after a chemical reaction its converted into them. also since your taking supplements your body will produce less naturally to maintain its normal levels. unless a doctors told you to take them your probably wasting your money.

DHEA is great for old farts whose hormone production has trailed off as a result of old age. Not so useful otherwise.

From what I’ve read it can actually damage hormone production in youngsters and should be avoided.

Interesting facts, gents. Question to thomaslavoie, if it is true that DHEA can damage hormonal levels, then what exactly does Testojack achieve? 😕

From what I’ve read, I do believe I have lower testosterone than normal due to drug usage, lack of excerise, sleep deprivation, and a poor diet. I’ve been taking ZMA-T at night to boost testosterone, which has helped out tremendously. I want to avoid all of these [bodybuilding.com](http://bodybuilding.com) ads that seem to promise great results, but I’ve learned through experience that a lot of those products are scams, ie. 17-HD.

Thanks for the input thus far, it looks like I’ll be doing some research, and more than likely taking this stuff back. Btw, spirulina and chlorella are great! I’m going to have to cut back on chlorella for a few weeks, though. It seems to upset my stomach.

im not sure how perminant it is, but you ever see those huge athletes with bulging muscles and really high pitch voices (like tyson)? thats because theyre injecting steroids to build muscle. testosterone is a natural steroid and is why men naturally build muscle faster than women, but testosterone is also responsible for a deep voice, facial hair and every other male trait.

when your body sences too much steroid in your blood, it compensates by producing less testosterone to bring your steroid levels back to normal. since your testosterone is lower, the effects it had on you diminish, like your deep voice raises. this testojack sounds like a steroid, so taking it would normally lower your testosterone level, which is why it says that it doesnt. the reason why it also “supports the male reproductive function” is testosterone is also responsible for sperm production. less testosterone = less sperm.

Steroid uses also have trouble getting their little willie to stand up, let alone their soldiers to march.

A moderate amount of DHEA can be beneficial to those over 50 (increasing hormone production). Some claim it increases their sex drive and enhances workout results. I personally haven’t tried it as I’m horny enough.

I don’t think Testojack is a steroid, though I could be wrong. Steroids and prohormones are different than testosterone boosters. Interesting science, though. Maybe thomaslavoie can clear this up since he uses it along with his other supp’s.

([Dictionary.com](http://www.dictionary.com))
steroid
1.any of a large group of fat-soluble organic compounds, as the sterols, bile acids, and sex hormones, most of which have specific physiological action.

(2nd yr university bio)
A type of lipid characterized by a carbon skeleton consisting of four rings with various functional groups attached.

it may not be straight testosterone but as long as it raises levels its argueing over semantics (i guess if you dont want to think of it as a steroid the most accurate name would be a “natural steroid booster”). in either case, if your body isnt producing every bit of testosterone naturally it will compensate for any supplement by producing less naturally.

you may remember in the last tour de france i think it was some american who was caught with higher than normal testosterone levels and got in trouble because of it.
