Its a scent, derived from a plant related to mint. No pheros or phero-related properties that I’m aware of.

Although I do have certain fond memories of pachoulli-drenched girls from my teenage years. 😉

It would be the biggest phero of them all then:

[Patchouli - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patchouli) (look at the size of those molecules!)

But other than being a reasonably common scent in phero products (cheap, plentiful and no product licencing issues whatsoever) and vague allusions to “aphrodisiac properties,” pachoulli is most certainly not a mone!

They are fairly big and complex molecules - not like pheros at all.

And the bigger the molecule, the less chance it has of passing the blood/brain barrier to produce phero-like effects.

That said, it does help carry pheros to where they need to be rather well.

Patchouli is a essential oil not a human [pheromone](https://a314.com/shop/). It has a earthy musky scent and is used as a aphrodisiac.

Hi, Glen!

If you post a “hello” in the introduction section of the forum, you can qualify for a free gift certificate!

Pheromones are chemical signals produced by human or animal bodies and excreted into the surrounding air. Like how dogs can “smell fear”, pheromones communicate non-verbal information about the person. Synthetically produced [pheromone products](https://a314.com/shop/) (like those from Androtics) commonly use cover scents so that the wearer doesn’t just smell like BO. You might be looking at a product from some different company that uses patchouli as a cover scent.

Hope this helps!

The gift certificate is for $25 USD, and that usually covers the cost of one to-go sized product. It’s a great way to get started with testing out a [pheromone product](https://a314.com/shop/) before you commit to buying or experimenting!
