According to the Journal of Cosmology (albeit an amateurish looking journal, but all the same still respected) Dr R Hoover has discovered microbial life in fossils predating Firma Tera itself!

The official statement that precedes the article from the editor of the Journal by Dr. R Schild Center for Astrophysics, Harvard-Smithsonian asks for peer review from experts in this area of study:

> [Journal of Cosmology](http://journalofcosmology.com/Life100.html)We believe Dr. Hoover’s careful analysis provides definitive evidence of ancient microbial life on astral bodies some of which may predate the origin of Earth and this solar system.
>
> Dr. Richard Hoover is a highly respected scientist and astrobiologist with a prestigious record of accomplishment at NASA. Given the controversial nature of his discovery, we have invited 100 experts and have issued a general invitation to over 5000 scientists from the scientific community to review the paper and to offer their critical analysis.

HAHA, this has been a firestorm all over the news. I don’t understand how we can be so intellectual and not want to believe we are the only life in the entire universe. Sounds like somebody has a BIG complex!

If we aren’t alone in the universe, it means that “God didn’t make us so special and superior”.

The longer answer is that finding life, especially intelegent life, would engender great philosophical and theological debate about the validity of long held beliefs.
