Well, I’ve had my share of…I’ll say _interesting_ hair cuts. My family was in the hairdressing business. My mom, both of her sisters, my uncle and two of my cousins owned their own salons. For being old as dirt…lol…I’ve only had five hairdressers in my entire life, so far. I dread having to find a new one…always iffy. When I was little my mom always gave me a pixie cut. 🙄 I didn’t know any better not to like it…then. It grew out and I was wearing it to about my shoulders. I remember, one time, when I went to “the shop” as we called it…after school…I was in second grade…Mom wanted to wash my hair…when she took me to the sink before she began to shampoo…hope this dun gross ya out…she discovered 😮 head lice. Told ya it was gross 😛 …but not uncommon, then, anyways. She, of course, immediately freaked out! Said we’d have to cut it off…couldn’t deal with it…too difficult to try to remove 'em from longer hair. I cried/screamed bloody murder and put up a fight 'cause I didn’t want her to cut it off. Mama was quick with her hands…grabbed my hair in a hunk and chopped it off in one motion! It was a scene. I cried and screamed for an hour. 😛 Back to the pixie! Y’all are probably too young to remember when Vidal Sassoon first introduced his very mod styles, I had one of thoses too…lol. Heavy bangs, shorter in the back and angled down to the chin. Actually it’s very similar to what’s in style now, with or without the bangs. When I was about 15/16 I let it grow long, _very_ long…only cut it a few years ago. Never did the Farah Fawcett thing, though, as I don’t like layers. It’s funny ‘cause, with my mom owning a salon, I had every opportunity to do…only God knows what to my hair…and what did I do? Nothing. Jus’ not my thing. Make-up? Now were talkin’…_that’s_ my thing. I’ve never even colored my hair…still don’t. No need. People would/do ask me, “What do you do to your hair?” It ain’t what I _do_ to it…it’s what I _don’t_ do to it. I still don’t do anything to it…lol. I hate being a slave to anything. 🙄 Though I do have a bane, or two, of my existence…fer sure. Anyways jus’ thought I’d share a little of my hairstory, too. 😉 Bella ---

For the next month or so I looked like I’d stuck my head in a lawmower. ---

You went to all that trouble to grow it out all pretty and mom goes and cuts if off cause of a few bugs that some other kid passed on to you. ahhh i was gone for awhile (so so busy with research, they work me like a dog ☹ ) and there u are with a new haircut! and all those cute little drawings by tealeaves! at least ur date liked it, u know? and im sure it’ll grow out into a style that ud like soon 🙂 if it makes u feel any better, when i was younger, my mom insisted that i kept my hair short like a boy because she thought it was cute. everybody made fun of me and said that i was a boy ☹☹☹ \<3 remmy ---

That’s almost… _cruel_… 😮 What a terrible way to give a little girl a hair cut… ☹ When I was very little, I did get head lice once… while I was reading quietly, a little snub-nosed girl walked over, rubbed her head against mine, and proudly announced that she had given me lice 😠 My mother washed my tush-length hair _every night_ with a special shampoo and a tiny comb until I was free of the little buggers. The things I learn to appreciate! Hmm, come to think… my mother used to scare me by saying that flies would lay eggs in my hair and eat my scalp, or that my hair would get stuck in something and it would take my whole head off if I wasn’t careful. She even told me stories about “people she _once_ knew”… LOL I bet she had a good laugh afterwards 🙄 ---

Okay 😃 Thats prolly enough self indulgence for me with the hairdo theme. But I loooove everyone’s responses. Feel free to post more if you want. Isn’t it interesting how we all had similar things happen? The short cuts by mom. The bad cuts later on… All right. Just _one more_ self indulgence. For the ladies again. Hi Kitten! OMG, the haircut posts have me cracking up! I am not as brave as Selva to post a pic (even though she still looked gorgeous!) My worst haircut was actually two weeks before prom, it looked like a spaceship, seriously! That is the last time I ever let a “friend” cut my hair.
