As far as being seen in or being picked up in?

Muscle or Import?

I have recently taken a strong liking to Imports myself. Muscle cars just suck majorly. Too slow and terrible gas mileage.

Well you know what I am going to say LOL

Good old American Muscle Cars all the way. They have a certain charisma and personality that is far more attractive to me then the rice rockets or pretentious cars people drive these days.

To me the Muscle car is the Alpha of the pack. Everything else is just the Beta trying to follow the leader.

I dont agree they are slow, it really depends on who is driving it and whats under the hood. Gas mileage … well I cant argue that its a issue now a days but even if I had to pack away the muscle car for a more gas affordable car it wouldn’t be a import.

But just like with anything else including attraction its all a matter of individual preference. I wouldn’t judge someone by the car they drive but when a import car drives by me I dont notice it. It doesn’t grab my attention but the Muscle car… even its deep rumbling sound always makes me stop and admire.

Seriously, the question has never even crossed my mind.

Now, as to what kind of car I want to BUY FOR MYSELF (with my own money), OWN and DRIVE?

Import all the way. Jaguar S type (If I had LOTS of money and lived near a jag dealership and had a second car to drive when the jag was broken.)

There’s more cars than that amigo.
There’s good old fashioned Detroit muscle…you’ll tend to find that white women lean this way. There’s your “Fast and Furious” tuned imports, these are popular with Asian and some Latin women.
You have your low riders, not built for speed but for luxury, usually 50’s to 70’s model full size cars, that ride slow and low with a ridiculously bass heavy sound system.
Women from really hard core Latin neighborhoods prefer these.
Country girls tend to like jeeps and lowered pickups with loud systems.

I know this may sound like counter intuitive advice but truth is if you know how to carry your game, your image…which can and often will include the car you drive is irrelevant so long as it does convey SOME positive image. There’s nothing wrong with creating rapport out of an “opposites attract” angle over a “birds of a feather” one.
So if you show up at some import car show, driving a turbo charged Mustang you will stand out like a sore thumb…the trick is looking like you’re comfortable with standing out.

If you know how to present yourself and your preferences/likes it’s not only possible but very easy for a hod rod driving metal head to pull a girl that normally goes for imports and techno music, or low riders and oldies, escalades and hip hop…none of it matters. You’re not trying to fit into the woman’s world, but presenting yours and creating the frame that your world is different and thus interesting, and she’s invited in.

I realize you didn’t ask for all of this and aren’t implying that you’d consider getting a different kind of car in order to attract women, but cars, clothes, music etc are all aspects of your image and I very often will see guys that get attracted to a certain “type” of girl that’s into a different scene than theirs. They usually just dismiss and ignore their attraction figuring “she has her world, I have mine so it would never happen or work out”…once in a great while the guy will want the girl bad enough to change his own world in order to try and become part of hers. Dressing differently, start listening to different music, and yeah if money allows trying a different car. So I saw this as an opportunity to express that being different from the guys she would normally be surrounded by can not only not be negative, but can be extremely positive when trying to attract a woman.
Keeping in mind that two of the most common romance themes in womens books and movies are the rich “prince” type rescuing the poor “peasant girl”, and the bad boy “rogue” type seducing the prim and proper “princess” type. An escape from what is considered the norm can be exciting so guys should learn to be comfortable with being different.
I hope that wasn’t too off topic for this thread, is so I apologize.

I was talking to guy who had a mid 70’s Camaro, completely done up, hundreds of HP. He came up beside a tuned import and they went at it. He said he got beat so badly he turned off on a street before his actual turn, he was so embarrassed. Now some of that might be driving. I read an ad for a place that teaches you to race Corvettes. When you first get there they race you, first you race in your car against them, then you race in their car. They beat you both times to show you it has a lot to do with the driver, not the car.

I have a Corvette myself and I actually get decent gas mileage by old standards, probably 25 mpg.

Yah Except American Muscle blows. Slow and good luck filling your tank at $4 a Gallon. Imports get better gas Mileage and are cheaper.

Imports all look the same though. US muscle blows imports away on looks.

You guys have to import jags?
Try the new Jag XF. In my opinion it’s just as majestic as the more expensive models, but it’s only £30k so quite a reasonable and obtainable price for a new car.

“Imports” are cars not made by the big 3 (GM , Chrysler, Ford). Toyotas are considered imports even though many are made in North America. Ford actually owned Jaguar for a while but it would still be considered an “import”. Ford still owns Mazda. Sort of confusing and blurry.

That’s what I mean by blurry. Ford owns them, they are made in the US, but they are still imports.

I am an import girl all the way. I have been involved in the car club ‘scene’ since 2000 and would never go any other way. It’s how I met my fiance’ 6 years ago. I liked his Civic. 😉

Edit-- I actually have a project ‘99 Civic Si right now I’m working on. But, my DD is a W204 and fiance’ has the last model year of the E39. 😉

A general assumption, but I am a white girl and I love the boys in the imports. 🙂 But, I have always been attracted to asian men and my dad has always been married to some variant of an asian female (Korean, Filipina) so I have always been around mostly asian people. So, that may be why I lean more towards asian men and the import car culture. I have full respect for Detroit muscle and give props where they are due, but there’s nothing like a forced induction import to get me going. 😛😃

My DD is a 1990 chevy lumina lol. Looking at getting either a SI coupe or an SI CRX. My two buddies both have Ex Coupes single cam and they are stock but the way they shift and move just made me fall in love wIth imports all over again. JBM as fuck is what one of then has on his bumper and the other 1 has a sticker that says Rice for Life lol. My other Buddy has EG hatch with a 1999 Integra Type R motor and a turbo tuned to 15 Psi. Thing beats v8s and big blocks like it anit nothing. Gotta love the V-Tech and Dual Cams. Single Cams ok but with SIs and Type R they come stock Dual. That’s why I want an SI and not an Ex. Single cam can only take about 7-10 psi of boost. But as far as Muscle goes they are overrated, they take too much gas and the insurance on them is crazy high. Imports have more available parts, lower insurance( unless it’s like an Rx7 or Supra) and get amazing gas mileage and it don’t cost much to make them go fast.

Where I am insurance is more on imports because the parts are more expensive and they are more expensive to fix.
