I live in Florida but I originally come from NJ (bridge & tunnel area)…someone asked me -on another forum- how I got to FL, and this is why I ended up here:
Oh yes I loved NJ but the winters were getting more harsh every year. I decided to move to the “sub-tropics” the day I spent hours layering my clothing, pulling on a real heavy coat, wrapping myself in two scarves, earmuffs, and hat, sweating to the door and then running/waddling for the bus (downhill), falling, sliding to the corner on my back, on a patch of black ice, watching thru the slit of my scarf, and hearing the busdriver open the doors, seeing me on the ground, and break out in a fit of laughter. To add insult to injury – I couldn’t get up because I was bundled up to thickly. I had to roll over, hold the lamp-post and pull myself up – the bus driver being too impaired by his giggle fits to help me (did I mention the busload of people laughing as well?)
When I got to work, I put in my resignation and headed south. Never looked back. Its been 15 years.
So now I hang out on the beach wading in the low tide and playing in the sand bars…I’m so friggin happy man!!!

I hear that. I was up in Montreal in the middle of January one year… one block to the store, and we couldn’t do it. Being a Floridian, of course, I was clueless about cold weather, so I wore two pairs of socks and a medium jacket, along with my jeans and shirt. LOL!
