Greetings All

After studying ethology in university, I became interested in persuasion, mate-selection, and non-verbal communication in general, in the early 1970s. I’ve dabbled with these topics on-and-off since then.

I’m new here, but not new to [pheromones](https://a314.com/). I first bought androstenone in the 1980s. [Was ~none the first synthetic pheromone commercially available at retail?] The cover scent was soapy.☹

I took several years of chemistry, molecular and biochemistry, including around a year of private readings in the synthesis of biologically active compounds, so I have great respect for the folks who are creating these products.

I hope to contribute reports as I experiment with these fascinating molecules. Thank you for making them available!

Hello Welcome to the forum, 🙂

Seems like you probably have an understanding of the mones available which is great. I look forward to your future posts and experiments.

Jas will be around with the GC’s in a while, she does them in groups a few times a week.

Tisha

A grand welcome from another chemist (sidetracked to programming at the moment)!

These things are fascinating, and they just keep making more new products! Too bad there’s a limited supply of money and time.

Looking forward to your reports!

Welcome, and good to have you here. You might find it interesting to read some of MHarris’s old posts… also tacitus, visionary, markl, carrie amongst many other posters with backgrounds in persuasion and/or chemistry.

Thanks to each of you for your warm welcome! I truly appreciate your kind gestures.😛

PQ - I do find those named posters particularly useful - I also wonder why tisha’s “[Womens Pheromone](https://phera.com/) Guide” is not a sticky. And several others, too many to recall, have greatly helped my understanding, already.😃

I’m currently working on a product-by-product summary card, one card for each bottle in my collection:

Name - dose supplied per spray
Typical application (sprays/drops)
Application points
Primary effects
Expected duration 😠
Other products for mixing

It’s been quite a challenge, and I’ve more or less abandoned the idea of getting ‘expected durations’ from the old posts - duration is rarely mentioned with any certainty.😮

[Grump Warning]

I will continue to find my way through the old posts. But, I admit, the main thing I find a bit frustrating is that too often people speculate about what they will try in the future (and then do not seem to follow-up), or report what they have just bought (and have **not yet received** ) rather than reporting the observed effects of these products. When researching a topic in the old messages this is, of course, my FIRST question to myself - “Is this writing a guess/hope, or is it a report of an experience with pheromones?”

Overall, I have learned enormously from the old messages, and I thank each of you who has contributed to this wealth of knowledge! And I do understand the excitement of members when they invest in new purchases. I’m glad that these products are available at seemingly reasonable prices. I’m just saying that sometimes it is frustrating when there are pages after pages in any particular thread that mention the product I’m researching but have zero “this is what actually happened to me” content. Sorry for being a grouch about this minor concern - I’ll go find some TAH and see if I can lighten-up.:o :o [/grump crawls back under TAH rock]

Again, thank you all for your kind welcome. I’ll do my best to contribute what I learn along the way.
