Hi, \*([Hello from a married man!](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/hello-from-a-married-man/28688)), and my attitude toward pheros is a combination of skepticism tempered by a desire to try just about anything once, simply for the fun of trying it. I had a fun encounter this weekend, that I thought worth sharing.

So far, I’ve tested Turn Up The Heat sparingly on certain occasions with my wife. No responses out of the ordinary, except that she really likes the smell and buries her face in my neck (moreso than usual) when I have it on. I wouldn’t call it a “Heat” response; more of a “don’t move, you smell really good” response. So, basically, no hits yet.

I figured a friend’s Memorial Day BBQ party would be a good chance to test something else, so I tried 3 sprays of [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/). Outdoors, BBQ’ing, drinking, laughing, chatting, sitting in the sun, among mostly strangers, I had a most unexpected and unusual conversation…

A fellow turns and asks me, perhaps with Memorial Day on his mind, “Hey, are you military?”
Now, I’m tall and fit, with a buzz cut, good posture, and large, dark sunglasses, and I’ve been asked that question before, but I’m not. As usual, I laugh a friendly No, but others turn quickly and add, “Yeah, you look like a soldier!” “He sure does!” etc…
Here it takes a twist. Someone adds, sincerely, “You look like a fighter pilot!”
The group immediately affirms, “Yeah!” “That’s it!” etc…
“You look like you fly F-15’s!” (_no joke, I’m not making this up! I’m just laughing along, thinking “Where did this come from!?”_)
As I laugh and assure them I don’t, the first guy asks sincerely, “So are you a cop?”
Again, I’m mystified. _Where is this coming from??_ But this triggers a glimmer of recognition in a guy I met briefly about one year ago. He snaps his fingers, “No! He’s a Federal prosecutor!”
Everyone nods as if that somehow makes sense, and my wife just laughs. I eventually set them straight. Yes, I am an attorney, but no, I’m not a prosecutor.

When we got home that night, my wife had a giddy glow I haven’t seen in a while. She made it clear how much fun she had with me at the party. She _especially_ enjoyed the “fighter pilot” idea. 😉

Anything to do with Instant Shine? Who knows… We can each believe what we want (or need) to believe. But the whole episode was quite unusual and funny, and I thought you might appreciate it.\*

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. What I meant was no hits, until possibly that whole “fighter pilot” episode…

My wife’s reaction to Turn Up The Heat, so far, really seems to have been a reaction to the scent, (i.e., she likes it a lot) not exactly a “pheromonological” response. More testing will be done. 🙂

And the “fighter pilot” thing was so utterly wacky – so far from any ordinary conversation – that I’m torn as to whether it was a “pheromonological” response, as well. Imagine you’re conducting an experiment, where you ask your test subject to pick a number between 1 and 10. You believe you can subtly influence the subject to pick “7.” Instead… he picks “p.i.” …okay, thanks… Next test subject, please! Let’s try to get an answer that _isn’t_ crazy this time. 🙂 But if the next guy says “p.i” too… well then you’re probably on to something.

I’ll let you know if I get any more pilot/cop comments on [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/). 😉

Two things to remember:

First, most “hits” are low key. And they usually only happen if you are doing something. Like you could wear all the IO you want but if you just sit there and frown at people, no one will talk to you. You smile and say hello and then the chatter will not end. Ishine can often generate chatter as a side effect also.

Those closest to us are often the most difficult to effect. There is a lot of history, a lot of routines and patterns, a lot of pre-conceived ideas to overcome.

Next time maybe some TUTH with IH will help a little more.

Have you read the married guys thread in my signature block? That might help some too.

Excellent observations and advice, thank you. I’ve read that thread, too. Quite helpful!

The real issue, as it is for all married couples, is that occasions for testing have been sparse. (we won’t even see each other this weekend!) Hence the paucity of data. But I will try that combo when the chance arises. It sounds promising. 🙂

Oh you were clear 😉😛.

The thing to remember is hits are subtle usually, not blatant in your face. They do happen and when they do, well you already know. I think this report is very clear and I commend you for experiencing one of those times when they do bubble up to the surface like they did.🙂

I consider ‘face burying’ one of the biggest hits you can get. Pheromones are subconscious, so whilst she says “You smell realllly nice” it’s the pheromones she’s talking about, not the Neroli. Only she probably thinks she’s complementing the Neroli and the attraction, arousal or whatever she’s feeling from the Turn up the heat she is associating with you.

A little of topic but, Ammo and [Instant Female Magic](https://a314.com/product/instant-female-magic/) combined are a favourite combo of mine - I feel they bring out the best in each other. I apply Instant Female Magic to the side of my neck, so it’s far away from my nose to avoid any possible negative self effects. Often when I’m just chilling with my girlfriend she will bury her face in the side of my neck. I’ll say “what?” and she’ll look at me confused and I say “I thought you whispered something to me”, she says No and then re-buries her face. It’s caught me out many times lol. Face burying is a hit.

I like it 😃

Sounds like you missed your cue to grab a nearby mike, then turn to your wife and and start singing “You never close your eyes when we kiss anymooore..”

- while Goose and the rest of the squadron back you up on vocals…🙂
