So, this is basically a copy paste from my journal.

If there’s anything I’m missing or if I’m incorrect please let me know.

_ **DISCLAIMER** _
This is a fairly long post. It can be confusing and hard to follow so it may take a few reads to fully understand it, but if you are serious about mixing and making your own mixes, I highly suggest you read and UNDERSTAND this.

> **[Concentration](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concentration)**
>
> In chemistry, concentration is the abundance of a constituent divided by the total volume of a mixture. Several types of mathematical description can be distinguished: mass concentration, molar concentration, number concentration, and volume concentration. The concentration can refer to any kind of chemical mixture, but most frequently refers to solutes and solvents in solutions. The molar (amount) concentration has variants, such as normal concentration and osmotic concentration. Dilution is Co...

I came up with a mix calculator a while ago for free (2 years ago). Its really not hard to make mixes if you’ve got a **good** grasp on math. It’s basically a more complex/complicated calculation of those algebra concentration problems you did in HS Algebra.

FIRST OFF. If your TOTAL AMOUNT OF [PHEROMONES](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) IS X PER SPRAY, all of your INDIVIDUAL PHEROMONES MUST BE IN THAT X AMOUNT.

What I mean is this. If you decide to make a mix, say:

10 mcg none
10 mcg p86
10 mcg TAA
And you want ALL of that per spray

Total is 30/mcg PER spray correct?

If that is the END result you want, you MUST have -none, P86, and TAA in concentrations of 30 mcg/spray OR HIGHER. YOU CANNOT START WITH LOWER THAN 30 AND EXPECT IT TO BE MORE CONCENTRATED. IT DEFIES THE LAWS OF PHYSICS. Your amount that comes out of the bottle is SET, so are the ORIGINAL concentrations. The key here is that each spray is SET and so are the concentrations.

Let’s set up 2 examples here.

You buy the 3 components in 10 mcg / spray.
You might think "All I have to do is put equal amounts and voila! I have my mix done. I get 10 mcg/spray of each one! WRONG.

Let’s say each bottle sprays 1ml PER spray ( **not actual numbers, just a random easy number** ). So your 10mcg/spray will only have 10mcg per 1ml of spray right?

You mixed in 1 ml of each component. Now you have 3ml total. 1 ml none, 1 ml taa, 1 ml P86. We said earlier that each spray has 10mcg each right? So now you have 3 ml, and 30 mcg of pheromones, correct?

But how do you get all of that out when you only have ONE SPRAY coming out of the bottle? Remember the bottle sprays 1ml. So to get ALL of that out, you need THREE sprays. So how much is in EACH spray? ONE THIRD.

So you come down to 3.3 mcg / spray. NOT 10. Here is how it is 3.3 mcg/spray:

30 MCG TOTAL
3 SPRAYS
30mcg/3sprays = 10mcg TOTAL PHEROMONE PER SPRAY.
So your 10 MCG total was made up of EQUAL amounts of none/TAA/86.
10 MCG / 3 components = 3.3 or 3 1/3.

Now, say you bought them at 30 mcg / spray.

NOW you can add each at a 1:1:1 ratio.

1 ml of each gives you 3 ml TOTAL right?

since each has 30 mcg, TOTAL MCG OF PHEROMONE IS 90 MCG.

Since each spray is 1ml, you get 30 mcg total because all of the pheromones are in the same concentration. You have 3 ml total.
You have 90 MCG of pheromones TOTAL. So:
90 MCG
3 SPRAYS
90MCG/3SPRAYS = 30 MCG

Now, you have EVEN amounts of -none/TAA/P86. SO:
30 MCG/3 components = 10mcg PER PHEROMONE.
This means you get 10 of -none/TAA/P86

The tricky part is when you want varying ratios of pheromones. For example:

5 mcg none
10 mcg TAA
15 mcg P86

TOTAL PHEROMONES: 30 MCG

Say you happened to get them all in 30 mcg, what do you do? You take ratios.

you have 30 mcg of none and have a TOTAL END PRODUCT of 30 mcg of PHEROMONES. This is good. 5/30 = 1/6 So out of the 3ml, 1/6 of that needs to be none. So you add 1/6 x 3ml of none = 1/2 ml

10mcg taa / 30 mcg phero = 1/3. 1/3 x 3ml = 1 ml of TAA

15mcg P86 / 30 mcg phero = 1/2. 1/2 x 3ml = 1.5 ml of P86

TOTAL AMOUNTS:
0.5 ml of NONE
1ml of TAA
1.5 ml of P86
TOTAL: 3ml

That means each spray will spray ONE THIRD of the amount of EACH pheromone you put into it. And this changes with the TOTAL amount of SOLUTION AND PHEROMONE CONCENTRATION. The reason this example is THREE is because you have 3ml total and ONE spray is 1ml. If you had 4 total, you would divide by 4 and so on. But you have to keep in mind of the INDIVIDUAL pheromone concentration too.

BOTTOM LINE: The concentration of the pheromone you want must be AT LEAST the amount of the TOTAL AMOUNT of pheromones. If your mix has a TOTAL PHEROMONE CONTENT OF 100MCG, YOU NEED CONCENTRATIONS OF EACH PHEROMONE IN AT LEAST 100MCG. The only way around this is if you can SOMEONE GET RID OF THE ALCOHOL IT IS DISSOLVED IN WITHOUT REMOVING THE PHEROMONES.

IF YOU PLAN ON HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY MAKING ALL MIXES OR REPLICATING MIXES, buy ALL your individual pheromones at high concentrations or get them in solid form to dissolve on your own. THERE IS NO WAY you can use a lower concentration and expect it to somehow concentrate itself per spray. Period.

This is why in the store, the Ps and and experimones are recommended for advanced users.

If you want to make your own mix, this is how you should start out.

Come up with how much pheromone you want per spray. Make that list.

x none
y a-Androstenol
etc.

ADD THEM ALL UP. That is your TOTAL PHEROMONE content PER spray.
Once you have that TOTAL pheromone content, your INDIVIDUAL pheromones must be AT LEAST that much. After that, its math. It only takes like 30 minutes to make a spreadsheet for this and you can enter as many pheromones as you want.

\*P.S.
You are limited to your mixes by your LOWEST CONCENTRATION PHEROMONE. That is your limiting factor.
Also, even if you have varying concentrations of pheromones, as long as your TOTAL PHEROMONE CONTENT is lower than your limiting factor you can still make a mix at your desired amount per spray.
What I mean is this:
YOU HAVE:
-none (50mcg/spray)
TAA (75 mcg/spray)
P86 (100 mcg/spray)
You want to make a mix of those 3 with a TOTAL END amount of pheromones to be 30mcg/spray. You can still do that with the above concentrations even though they are not equal concentrations. The only effect that will have is you need another solution to dilute it (perfumer’s alcohol/oil/cologne/etc).

Great post zeph. Nothing is missing or incorrect really but it can be a little confusing though for a new person who doesn’t realize that …

1 ML of a to-go bottle has 8 sprays

1 ML of the large 30 ML bottle has 6.6 sprays

> [@](#):
>
> Let’s say each bottle sprays 1ml PER spray **(not actual numbers, just a random easy number).** So your 10mcg/spray will only have 10mcg per 1ml of spray right?

I just wanted to really highlight this part of your post so new people know.

Your 10mcg per spray will have 80 mcg of pheromone per 1 ml

or with the 30 ml bottle …

Your 10 mcg per spray will have 66 mcg of pheromone per spray.

So your therory and calculation using the numbers you used are correct its just that the numbers you used are not correct and this is what may lead a newbie into making a mistake when mixing.

Mixing is great fun but unless you plan to make a mix to sell I strongly suggest you layer your pheromones

If you really need to take a mix with you to refresh then just spray your dosages into a empty to-go bottle and make of 3 or 4 applications.

You save money

You save time

You save your pheromones

and this way you can change your mixes around more. Once you make a big mix your locked into it so be sure you rally love that mix of your wasting mones.

Edted to add…

Before anyone runs out and buys really high concentrations of pheromones keep in mind how much is actually used in a mix. Go on up to Jasmins post [Behind the Scenes -- MX Formula Cheat Sheets](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/behind-the-scenes-mx-formula-cheat-sheets/37364) take a look at how little they actually use and then use zephs formula for mixing. People are using a lot more then is actually really needed in a mix.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your main componant (pheromone) is your highest concentration and you work around that with the lower doses to steer it.

Jasmin, Michael, Steve, CL and DJ really do make it look so easy to come up with a mix but its not easy at all to do it correctly. They have a ton of experience at this.

I am not trying to discourage new people at all. Just learn to walk before you run.

Yea, I was too lazy to go back and find out how many sprays ToGo and the 30mL bottles had and didn’t want to calculate exactly how many mLs it was. I remember it being a number that would be a bad example to use, so I just used 1. It is grossly inaccurate, but really useful to try to explain my point.

I also realized that I should have put a disclaimer at the top that it would be a very long and possibly confusing post. I’ll continue to make edits on it to clarify things if needed.

Oh I understand your simplifying it, I was just afraid the new people would not realize that part was inaccurate and go by those actual numbers you used. I understand what your saying perfectly but only because I knew the 1ml was off. No offence to the new people but they sometimes take things at face value without doing the math.

It really is a great post zeph 😉
