Excellent description of his reaction. Definitely a very obvious display of the effect it had on him, and even if that isn’t quite a “hit”, I think the association of your presence calming him and just making him feel good is going to have him thinking about you and enjoying your company more. In the long run, this association to feeling so good around you may be better than a series of hits. 😉
