I’ve only taken 399 out once so far and yes, it gave me some challenging responses - I’ll need a good bit more work with it before I form a clear opinion.
This is GREAT… Now More People will Get an MX and Can Now Report on a Product they Might Never have Tried… They Might Just Find a New Fave… Kudos to Whomever Though that Idea Up… It’s Brilliant…
Yes, although I also predict a huge upsurge in “HELP ME! What does MX— do?” threads.
Very True, But that is What Search is For… Ofcourse that Ruins the Fun… This Project UF2 has Caught My Attention Though… If it’s Still in Stock on Friday I’ll Buy it and Report… Normally I Miss These Things Due to Low Funds… Ya Know when it Comes Down to Food on the Table or Mones… ![]()
ah! this is awesome to hear. I got some free MX422 today, but I had assumed it was because I ordered another MX. I’m excited to try both - and I’m motivated to order more often now because there’s even a wider selection of surprises I may get. Weeee!
A+ for AD on this one!!
(Also, was very thrilled to find my to-go bottles taped this time, and not leaked in the least
)
This is areally smart idea AD! I hope that my order (prob. in trans-alantic flight as I write this) also got an mx! I think this will make users more aware that reports are good for everyone and motivate them to report more. Maybe it would be an idea to include a short letter in the package explaining a little about this, something like this:
Or something else that gives some intro to the whole self-testing and reporting idea.
We do however really want testers that know how to use a forum. Also that shows they are curious and inquisitive. Making it too blatant may hurt that. Thoughts?
hmm, yes, could be a flood of ppl that isn’t that forum-trained yet, true… if I understand your thoughts correctly? OTOH most of the ToGo-bottles I got, have the forum-adress printed on them.
I guess there are two main categories of reports and reporters: those that will report a few uses and then fade away and those that will keep on reporting for longer time, or forever.
The former ones may start a new thread just for their own experiences, post 2-3 times and if 50 ppl does that then it will not be fun to collect all those reports. That could maybe be handled by having official reporting threads for all the MX’s that you have freebied, and then ask the mod’s to copy misplaced posts/threads to those threads plus lock &/or erase. But, this is an unusually nice and mild-mannered forum, too forceful moderation may cloud that atmosphere.
The latter ones will maybe mainly report in their own journals which if they test as vigorously as P51 may be better. Those ppl can usually be trusted to undestand that if they test a MX 2-4 times those posts probably will be best placed in an official thread, but if they test a MX 10-20 times it would be better to report in their own journal and post a link to the first MX-report in the official thread, and maybe a summary later on.
Another Good Thing with an official thread and moving posts there is that in the official thread new users will se Good Examples of reporting posts and be encouraged to follow that example.
But I really see the potential problem. There will always be ppl who register at forums that haven’t learned yet how to interact on a forum; search first, quote when answering, give the required information and be specific when asking and so forth.
Also, you want to have forum users that are reliable in their reporting since those reports gives better data. Ex. if I over 3 months reporting would have made clear that I don’t OD easily on some 'mones (hypothetical example) and that I have some problems with interpersonal interaction, then that gives a baseline by which you can judge my reactions to MX’s. A drive-by reporter won’t have established that background info and baseline sweet-spots etc, and that reporters report will be of less value, I guess?
Maybe pointing out a couple of different examples of really well structured reports, and also why they are well structured and why that’s important would be a great sticky post to direct new users to. And if you would choose Official MX-threads or something similar they could well be started with a pointer to that Good Example-post.
Also I’ve sen on other forums that it’s possible to ‘stick’ the first post of a thread so it’s visible on every page of that thread, that sometimes help ppl to remember subject, and if the first post gives guidelines to good reporting then that will be visible to new-comers to the thread also.
But I’m very new here and some of these thoughts maybe are already used to some extent or have maybe been used and failed..
@Steve: Hey, I still like it when I get IS in my order. I’m starting to get a feel for it finally
Otherwise, I do see the reasoning behind the new approach.
Not sure why Steve said that as it wasn’t part of the ‘memo’ and I don’t know where he got that from - if you noticed I did correct him. We are still doing everything else as normal - these other MXs are in addition to it.
LOL it was the 3rd paragraph down in the email that said: “Pls discontinue shipping instant products as freebies” but I stand corrected.
