Is going to be treated with [synthetic pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) for his anxiety problems since his liver can’t handle normal anxiety medication. Just thought it was cool how varied phero use is!

I’ve used it in the past on my dog, she was terrified of thunderstorms. Eight sprays of DAP that I bought at the local PetSmart applied to a bandanna tied around her neck did the trick. Note that she did not acclimate, over the course of several months her behavior was modified and now she doesn’t need it at all.

Wow thanks Cinci J!! My boston terrier is terrified of thunder too. How terrified was your dog of the storms?

It’s to where mine won’t even let me leave during a storm without messing my doors up and throwing up and using the bathroom everywhere. I usually keep him in his kennel but then he just bites and bends the metal and messes his teeth up. Sucks cuz he’s such a cool dog when its not storming.

Thanks though…I’m gonna head to Petsmart today and give it a try.

Mine was just as bad. She’s a viszla, hungarian version of a wienereimer (sp?), so she’s a bird dog and they tend to be a bit skittish to begin with. Like your pup, we couldn’t even cage her during a storm, she pulled the cage door in! The [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/) really did the trick with her.
