I have told my roommates I wear pheromones. One doesn’t believe it works because she tried the [Androstenone Pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) Concentrate for women MONTHS ago and didn’t get any results. And she’s made up her mind about them, even when I’ve explained that it was a horrible product. More for me then!

And my other roommate, my best friend, has kept REALLY quiet about it. Up until last night.

I usually put the pheromones on in the bathroom, and my roommate will literally gag and stay in the room until the smell goes away. Last night, I told her, “Okay, I’m putting on the stuff you hate.”

“Ugh. Okay.”

“Don’t worry, the smell will go away after awhile.”

And then she said, “Actually, it WON’T.”

This startled me a little, and I asked to her explain.

She said, “Oh God. I’ve hated to tell you this, but whenever you put the pheromones on, you smell awful. It’s almost overpowering.”

I asked her, “That one night we went to see the band, did I smell bad?”

“YES.”

This was the night a guy had put his arms around me, buried his head in my neck and said, “You smell SO GOOD.”

I had to laugh.

We spent the entire car ride talking about it, and I told her about all the hits I had, and she believes me, and she’ll live with it, but she HATES the stuff.

I just thought it was interesting, and at the same time disconcerting. But I went to smell all my bottles, and I didn’t mind it – and I KNOW other people haven’t 😉 .

I was wearing Instant Openness and Honesty at the time, too. HAH!

Is it possible that the girl just hates neroli and she’s associating that with the pheros themselves?

I can sometimes smell my hands after dancing and say “yup, this smells like so-and-so”. But I suppose what may smell nice to one person might smell horrible to another, just like real perfume.

It’s funny how you talk about the “smell good” thing. I didn’t shower for a day at one point, got told off by my mother but yet afterwards my boyfriend said I “smelled so good” (that was a while back and I wasn’t using [pheromone products](https://a314.com/shop/) then).

saraunne, this is my first post in the ladies forum but I had a very similar experience tonight.

I went over to a friends to fix his computer and while he was walking his dogs his sister told me how very good I smelled. She asked if she could get a better sniff while nuzzling my neck. I actually had to back up-she’s only 16 and my friends little sister.

When my friend came back in and stood over me while I fixed his system he asked me what I had for dinner. I hadn’t eaten yet and asked him why. He said I smelled awefull. I had earlier smoked a cigar and said so. He agreed that’s what it was, but I know what it really was.

At first I hated the scent too, but I quickly became acclimated to it and now I love it. Very interesting to think how the same sex does not appreciate the scent, yet the opposite sex does.

Thanks for letting me post

i went out tonight to tie one on.
i was wearing [instant sexiness B](https://phera.com/product/kitten/), TAH, and IO.
all night long, i heard from males that i smelled good.
women i was with liked the neroli, but were take it or leave it .
this is a big deal, because i hang with a blunt crowd.
when a serious moment happened, i sprayed more IO to lighten it up, and a man literally walked up to me and said “whatever you just sprayed,i have to know what it is. i love the smell” he was in his 20"s.

bottom line is that i think gender has ALOT to do with how you are percieved/smelled, and personality (cattiness comes from feeling threatened/less than).

your just not going to smell great to everyone.🙂

Cattiness: sooo true.

At the conference I went to last week, honestly, I was treated like a rock star. Balls to the wall rock star. I had a man posse everywhere I went, and by the end of the seminar, mostly everyone migrated to sit within a 10 foot radius of me.

Except

This other woman in the crowd, who was putting out all sorts of 😠 signals. She was sooo anti-me. So anti _anything_ to do with me. I’m pretty sure it’s becuase she’s usually viewed as being the sexy alpha lady, and from what I learned, she is used to wearing the pants in her company. There was tons of tension coming from her square foot of the room. My little bubbly sexy self was SO threatening to her.

Other people picked up on this and migrated away from her.

Totally interesting dynamic.

If you notice bitchiness from other women, especially ones with perceived status, then you’re doing something right! 🙂 Just be confident, cool, and sexy enough to smile and roll her bitchiness off your back.

Higher value guys are much more attracted to bubbly, high energy females with confidence and a positive sense of self… not insecure bitchy ladies (no matter how “high” value) who try to undermine happy people.

And for any man who is watching, that cattiness becomes quite obvious, even entertaining.

Men do the same thing, but the display doesn’t end up in fights with the threatening man in many cases that I’ve noticed. Many men do take it on the women who are attracted to that ‘threat’ man. Could be the last hope move, or avoiding the direct confrontation.

That could be because . the man that feels threatened doe’snt want that other man to know he intimidates him so he lets his fustration out elsewhere or on some other poor thang.

I’d say that is correct, yes.

The additional benefit is that the women in question now have the attractive man image re-inforced more. He’s good enough to not need to compete for them.

Maybe I have a nose that loves stinky. But I like the smell of almost everything but EOW and Spaceland. I have had a few ppl tell me that I smell good, male and female. But other wise no one has told me I stink or even smell funny. It may be that I use a body lotion that is pretty subtle but I can smell the neroli.

I just posted on an effect that may be related to some of the negative reactions [here](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/dreams-with-fecal-or-urine-themes/2101).

It might be interesting to ask people with the highly negative reactions what the bad smell reminds them of.

I’m wondering if there are segments of the population whose conscious perceptions of these pheremones differ from the majority perceptions.

I’ve been out of town, so haven’t been able to really respond:

Laurie: She doesn’t like neroli, but I asked her about it, and she said that it wasn’t it. I believe the word “ass” was used to describe the scent. LOL.

I gave her a few bottles to smell (including the unscented TAH, which I don’t think is horrible at all) and her facial expressions were so awful it was funny! I asked her if she wanted to test it out, because she definitely believes in it, but she absolutely refuses.

And I love where these comments are going. I agree about the women being threatened and getting catty that it means you’re doing something right. I think it’s a reflection of her life if she is being sour while you are being uplifting – it’s almost flaunting what she’s been trying to bring down, and what she secretly wants.

And SO true about men sometimes taking it out on the women when they show interest in the other guy. And how interesting it is that I see so many women getting angry at OTHER women when it’s HER guy that is looking around. It takes two to tango.

And Lor: I’ve come to terms that not everybody will like the way I smell. But now I’m terrified I’ll find the guy of my dreams, we’ll lock eyes, he’ll come straight over to me, and then make a beeline for the door because he thinks I smell like somebody’s waste. God forbid!

the guy of your dreams looks at you and _still_ turns his head twice.

the guy of your dreams sometimes finishes your sentence because you share a similar sense of humor…

this guy secretly finds you iresistable when your wearing no makeup and havent had time to showersince the day before yesterday 😛

he watches you do odd things, like math, because of the cute " thinking " face you make 😛

the guy of your dreams takes the opportunity to grab a sweater you have just worn just so that he can inhale it deeply…
_NOT_ because it smell like the latest fashion perfume / flowers/ soap, but because it smells like YOU.

Well said lor.

Saraunne, if you like the way you smell that’s all that matters . but please take in a count that women are not suppose to be attracted to how you smell but, i can bet that man will.

so of course she’s not going to like it. thats how it’s suppose to be. (smile) keep your head up.

Lor: Le sigh :o

And hey lovinthang! I agree with you, but the problem comes that this is the girl I spend 90% of my time out with. I’m not going to change what I do, especially now that she’s sanctioned it, but at the same time, the last thing I want to do is make her miserable if she has such a violent reaction to the scent. She’s my best friend, after all. But since she’s given the okay, it’s all good.

Thanks for the encouragement, though. It helped. 🙂

And actually, that was one of my fears coming into [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/): that it would alienate the female relationships that I had, and the comfort level that most female strangers have with me.

So far, I haven’t had any of that, besides one disaster of a weekend a few months ago that involved androstenone. And usually women are just as happy around me as normal…

If not, then it means I’m a threat, thus equal or above. That’s a-okay.😉
