Mystery is going to have his own show on cable television, my guess is that it will be on something like VH1, E!, etc. It sounds like it’s due out this fall. To me this is more revolutionary to pickup than best selling books (The Game), movies (Magnolia), or talk-show interviews (Conan, The View…) What are your thoughts on this? How much do you think this is going to change the pickup community with this massive exposure? ---

Women undoubtedly want to be picked-up in my experience (though, they like to dismiss this for obvious reasons), and several have confessed to me that they want to be outgamed. The Game was created by women, so this will give them a challenge. lol. Of course, this will push the envelope in social development if it is exposed and utilized. Even then, people forget things that are hyped up even when they’ve been continously exposed to it. I’ve witnessed this in my life many times. The Secret seems to be getting a lot of attention lately, but I’ve mentioned it to several people in the last couple of weeks, all of whom had no idea what I was talking about, even though it was aired on Oprah and is on every book rack in America. If it does have any negative effect on PUA’s, it will be short-term. Ross Jeffries has been at this since the 70’s, and the man is still in business. Of course, the only possible long-term drawback is the fact that it will continue to be commericalized. ---

I personally dont understand the whole thing about a “pick up comminuty” or “pua” for that matter, men, boys, etc have been seducing and “picking up” women since time began, and all of a sudden a few guys with very good marketing skills start selling techniques to mostly lonely and socially introvert young men on our to score with women…its kind of sad if you think about it… ---

People buy all kinds of crap in the self help section. Neil Strauss’s book put something in the spotlight that would’ve otherwise remained in obscurity. Like all self help methods they make money by preying on people’s insecurities. They sell confidence to those that lack it. The amount of paranoia die hard PUA’s get from mainstream exposure of the MM is quite funny. ---

They market their materials, so what? They take advantage of peoples’ insecurities (don’t see how that is since it works), so what? It’s not like the rest of corporate America doesn’t do this anyways. Everything you buy is because of marketing, and everything that is marketed is targeted to make you think it’s improving your life. A corporation is a legal person in the United States. As far as the PUA community is concerned, if you spent some time getting to know a little bit about the techniques (this took maybe an hour) for a broader understanding of what it is about, you’d see that it is much more than just getting a woman to have sex. Albeit there are sleeze balls everywhere, so I get the reason to stereotype anything with the word ‘pick-up’ in it. I’m into self-help, and PUA particularly to help better myself. My dad never really spent much time with me, so I’ve lost a lot of maturity in the process. I have social anxiety for whatever reason, so I fit into the class of beta male. I don’t like it, and want to change. I’ve tried visiting a psychiatrist, and while he helped somewhat, I felt like he was just milking the clock. I’d rather find my own way to improvement through reading, and field practice. ---

It may work that way when selling info products or lessons, but it doesn’t with pheromones. Preying on people with any kind of strong insecuriies would be counterproductive. They tend to provide no useful feedback for research. Except when A314 is used for it’s self effects on confidence and posture, our worst customers have no social skills, and our best (happiest w/the product, most re-orders, etc.) have plenty. Women and the guys with the best social skills notice what pheromones do. The guys without social skills might be getting all the hits in the world, but don’t notice or know what to with them. It’s just like the rich/poor thing. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. It’s the skilled ones that come in, add pheromones, and totally obliterate the others. They use them to remain king of the hill or achieve god like social powers, not out of insecurity.
