First off, what lab? That sounds like an awful idea considering how much garbage goes into soap. I hope its not a crime lab or something - lol

Second, Thats why I told him NOT to re-use pipettes in the first place. But by the way there ARE glass ones and no it doesn’t leave residue when rinsed with distilled H2O.

> Hydrogen peroxide induces radical reactions, really bad things. Nobody uses it on the skin anymore, even in a clinical setting, and you definetly don’t want to us it on open wounds. It’s still used to clean certain kinds of medical equipment but only equipment known to have high bacterial loads (inner cannula’s in trachs) and is rinsed heavily with sterile water just to get it completely off the equipment because it is so damaging.

Nobody said to put it on the skin anyway, he’s talking about cleaning things like pipettes. Like I said please read all of the posts so you can have better perspective, it’ll help a lot when contributing to this forum. It can be a jungle in here.

Clean it with alcohol like isopropyl or EtOH, that would do the job! Hydrogenperoxide is not realy something to clean it’s more of a strong oxdidant which destroys molecules like [pheromones](https://a314.com/) but they are not realy away! So you can’t realy be sure what molecules will result after that! even on skin or in the bottle! But peroxide in strengths lower than 3% is not harmfull in anyway!

Isopropyl is a favorite alcohol of ours in the lab, slipped my mind. Right up there with gin. Isopropyl cleans some things we use.
