> Awesome! I want some of that! When thinking of the air - just make sure you’re thinking left or right of LA. Air quality not so brilliant there - just like my hometown.

Haha, I was just about to make some joke about LA air making no one smile 😛 The amount of black gunk that gets on the fans INSIDE my apartment alone will make you… well, never want to know what the inside of your lungs look like at the least 😮

Your post totally reminded me I need to make it up to the Redwood Forest someday. I’ve passed through the general area on a drive to Portland (most gorgeous drive ever!!) but never actually gone to any of the national forests up there. My hometown was a small town in the mountains and this post is definitely making me want to hang out with some trees (as opposed to the concrete jungle) for a change. Can I join your roadtrip Terpines?? 😃

> That’ll be amazing. Thanks you so much for pointing me in some great directions

While thinking about it, make sure you hit up Lake Tahoe (especially if you’re there in the summer). It’s a little bit out of the way of the rest of California - laying pretty evenly half & half on the California/Nevada state line, northeast of Sacramento, but it is so worth it. One of the clearest lakes in the country & there are still beaches there that aren’t completely ‘tourist-ified’ yet. You can park along the highway that runs around it and traverse a couple minutes down a hill and land on a likely unoccupied pristine white beach in several spots around it, especially the north side (the south side is more resort-ified & has a bunch of casinos on the Nevada side). Of course, there’s also plenty of state beaches with parking lots & piers too… no matter how you see it it’s an amazing lake though, and it’s at ~6300 foot elevation in the Sierra Nevadas.

I’m a road trip specialist! There’s just so much to see in California I’m gonna be racking up the miles on my car. I was thinking of selling both my cars and taking a plane but I’m just gonna drive out there and see as much of the country as possible on the way. I’ll definitely be hitting 100k while in Cali, I’m about to be hitting 70K seen and I normally do over 30K a year.
