So, I’m new to both [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/) and the PUA underworld. In fact, I discovered about The Game, and the Mystery Method via Androtics/Pherotalk.com. I decided to looking into some PUA literature, so to say, and I bought these books from [amazon.com](http://amazon.com). 1. The Game by Neil Strauss 2. The Mystery Method 3. The Art of Seduction …&… 4. Irresistible Attraction by Kevin Hogan and Mary Lee Labay. ^^^I pulled these from a guide on amazon, and those four were the most appealing to me for a first purchase. I’ve heard great things about the first two, esp. the mystery method. Any feedback on these texts or anything about the PUA underworld for beginner would be appreciated. ---

Yes, Step 1) Decide what you want to achieve and how much you are willing to sacrifice to get there. Sounds cheesy but this really is like taking the red pill - your perception of the world will be shifted forever. Step 2) Read the Game, realise it is heavily exaggerated & embellished but enjoy it as a story. this will give you the foundation to understand how and why Pick-Up work. Step 3) Read the first 3 chapters of The Mystery method and STOP. Step 4) Do not read any more. Step 5) Go out and practice. - where do you live? find out if you have a local community - if you have great, ready made wingmen, if not it is slightly tougher but you can still do it, go out, stay sober and talk to everyone, it is all practice, the more people you talk to the better, don’t owrry to much aobut following the method etc just concentrate on enjoying yourself and learning about different people. Good luck. ---

Thanks for the advice, man. You were one of the few PUA’s on here that I was gunnin’ for with this post. Why is that I should stop reading after the first 3 chapters of the Mystery Method? I’ll look into those books recommended, aswell. ---

DO NOT FOCUS ON BL ! (Body language)… it is of little importance, trust me. If you ask e.g. probably the greatest PUA of all time, Tyler Durden (He is depicted like SHIT in “the game” but is the only one who brings results and minimizes frustration) he says “what is good body language to me ? NOT WIERD” Talk to everyone and read as little as possible about it. Internalize one concept at a time, trust me as I’ve seen many fail to achieve success by reading and reading. Do not “OBEY” MM’s rules, it’s poison to most. Hit me up for further explanation. Are you a newbie which wants to fuck women, get higher value socially and feel naturally better about himself in the shortest and most effective way possible ? I have the answer, free… GO OUT. No really, if you don’t go out at least twice as much as you read about this you will not breed success, trust me I know a lot about this. Wait with the books and open a few girls on the streets and then a few groups in the clubs, this will give you MASSIVE advantage over most of us guys. You will get experience where you reinforce old beliefs and behavioral patterns. Then when you read how it really works you can now get things in more contrast and you’ve already gotten the balls to approach, which is the no. 1, 2 and 3 of how good you’ll be at this game. If you are a nerd with little social experience and intelligence I advice as the guy above said, read MM and stop when you’re done with the “attraction” material. Then go out and try it for a couple of months while re-reading the first chapters, go out every night and try it with every girl until you get it reeeeaaaally tight, then return to the book and proceed reading. If you’ve got a natural thing going on where you get attraction pretty easily then visit “[www.charismaarts.com](http://www.charismaarts.com)” and buy their e-book and read it through. This is a more natural way and will help you more if you’re not a nerd that acts like a social robot. But if you talk to girls every day you won’t even need a method that much. - That’s how superior experience is. Hit me up if you got more questions, I’ll also maybe do a detailed newbie thread on here later on because you guys surely need it… 😉 ---

Cool, Curious, I’d be interested in hearing your methods of madness. Seems like you’re bringing something _else_ to the table that can enrich all of us 🙂 Gemmy, you’re spot on about Step 5. What it all boils down to is, the more you go out, the more comfortable it is to socialize. Soon, it’s just second nature to be sociable and fun and magnetic. I know, I know, the first few times you go out into a new atmosphere, it _can be scary, but think of the second times? It’s like, "Hey, I’ve been there, it’s not so bad, I ripped off the band-aid real fast and it stung for a sec, but now i’m super AOK_!" I think a knowledge of body language helps just like a general knowledge of communication helps. I agree with you there, Curious, don’t get too OBSESSED with it (don’t get too obsessed with _anything)_ because obsession aspects of _anything_ poke through and can be slightly off putting. If you’re going to be gawking at someone, waiting for their “hair flip go ahead”, they’re gonna think you’re 1) weird for gawking at them, and 2) they’ll flip their hair nervously, which 3) does NOT mean you are invited, hehehe… Fun. Keep on doing your thing, boys. ---

I’m curious too why we shouldn’t read further than chapter 3 in MM. And do you mean stop there for a while, practice, and then read the rest? Or just stop completely and never go any further? ---

Since you went ahead and bumped I might as well add to this thread. I think one of the key aspects of stopping after only the third chapter, is because it forces you to get out there and start practicing. Theory is only theory until it is applied. Once you’ve practiced for at least a couple of weeks, I went out there every day for a month, then come back and reread the first three chapters and the rest of the book, it all makes much more sense. You have a basis of understanding what Mystery is putting forth in his book. As far as body language goes I totaly understand what CuriousPUA is saying too, or at least I think I do. You should never read into someone elses body language as the only IOI and thus not go after the target based on that alone. Some guys get so obsessed with what IOI to look for they never take the plunge which means they don’t have a shot. You have to believe in yourself in order to use all your “tools” affectively. Don’t ever rely on the MM, body language, or even NLP as the end all to gaming. The end all lies within you and the tools simply enhance who you are as a person. Gem says it best when he says he believes everyone is interested in him. It’s the personification of self worth + confidence = ultimate attraction. You can’t rely on any one tool to get you where you want to be. If you had a sports car (Veyron in Jasmin’s picture) but were afraid to drive it on the street what would be the point. Yes it might get dented, dinged, a few speeding tickets, but why bother if you’re not going to drive it. It’s pointless to have skills in body language if it prevents you from aproaching someone because their body language is not saying come talk to me. The best part about body language is usually after you get talking to the person. It’s exciting to watch a person closed (arms crossed, legs crossed, no eye contact) open up to you after a minute of PU. Anyway just a thought. ---

I have read: The Game and The Venusian arts (Mystery method) I read about half of it, Started practicing - my social life went through the roof and I didn’t have any time to finish it for about 6 months, I was already a PUA by the time I read the whole thing cover to cover. I have read nothing else (apart from forums) Although I have never been on a bootcamp or other commercial offering (apart from the ones I have been running) I have been fortunate enough to practice alongside some of the best Pick-up artists in the world including Londons Mystery Method instructors, RSD instructors, most of the UK’s big names and Tyler Durden, Badboy and Juggler. Find out who is practing the pick-up arts in your area, go out and meet them - forget gaming women - Game the other PUAs. The reason I got so good and did it so quickly and the reason I have the reputation I do is because I befriended the right people. The thing you will find about PUA’s is that they are all really nice people and very down to earth. Baiscally anyone who is practicing PU has at some point had to hold their hands up and say “I am not as good with women as I would like to be, I am going to swallow my pride and admit this - so i can do something about it” - that takes a certain type of person. Now a lot of these people are now literally the coolest people you could ever meet. but they never forget where they came from. Don’t be clingy and don’t be a value taker and you will probably find even the worlds top PUAs don’t mid you tagging along with them. If you ever see me out and about or any of the instructors I work with - come up and say Hi - we don’t bite. Also sign up to some seduction forums. Without doubt the friendliest (and I am not just saying that because my company now owns it) is [Alphainteractions.com/forums](http://www.dynamicdatinglifestyle.co.uk/forum) The site is going through a bit of a transformation at the moment, so just ignore it and look at the forum. Good luck Practice, Don’t make your aim to become a PUA make it your aim to be a guy who is cool with women. ---
