# Newbie, help needed, please reply

Hi guys,

I am new to pherotalk and new to using [pheromones](https://a314.com/). I recently bought a phero spray from a well known London sex shop - Harmony. I cant find the brand anywhere on the net, but it bascially contains adrostenone. I was wondering if androstenone effective on its own? Could you experienced users tell me more please. I appreciate your help guys.

Welcome chuteboxer! Please take a look at Toil’s writeup concerning some major pheromones including androstenone. It does have effects both positive and negative as a standalone and it will depend on the dosage, your susceptibility to it, your target group and more factors as I just named a few. Look into Toil’s wonderful read and knowledgable writeup. Androstenone is the first pheromone he spoke about:

are androstenone products good to mix with [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/)? any one had good results with this?

im just using one at a time until i get a feel for the individual effects.
