Just sprayed about 25 mcg of Anol and Bnol (spray from earlier has probably faded) and a half spray and a full spray (so probably about 37 mcg) of [P74](https://pheromonelabs.com/product/p74/). I’m getting a weird smell. I noticed it immediately after applying the P74 (last) but it honestly could’ve been there before.

Its like a… musky catty slightly pissy smell. It comes in waves. Usually it just smells like the usual neroli scent package, but every once in a little while, I get wafts of… something.

Anyone else experience this with any of these pheros?

Hi Alex, you’ve got the scent of the ACTUAL mone, UNSCENTED. 🙂 To my niece, when I had on [P83](https://pheromonelabs.com/product/p83/) that had been in the car for a while, some of the alcohol had dissipated from the togo, immediately told me, “It smells like bad, bad, rotten fish!”. 😃

Only way I’ve gotten around it, in that particular case, was to use a heavy cover cologne and it took care of it.

Straight from the bottle, the nols smell like fresh sweat to me. As they wear on your body and interact with your sweat and skin bacteria, the scent changes. How fast they change and how funky they get depends on the individual’s body chemistry and the temperature. In my experience nols last many hours in cool weather, in AC and on fairly dry parts of the body or clothing. On moist and warmer places they can and will breakdown to androstenone, hence the piss-like odor. The worse situation would be wearing nols on bare skin and working out or dancing. I’ve had them get funky within a half hour. In such cases I apply to hair or even clothing and they last in nol form much longer.

To me anol can smell like musky dirty feet if uncovered. Drives me crazy. [P74](https://pheromonelabs.com/product/p74/) should not give off a pissy smell at all even when bacteria gets at it.

If your bacteria count was high for some reason the nols could have broken down some to anone which is pissy smelling. The heat of your body is not what causes conversion its the bacteria count. We all have natural bacteria that live on our bodies. They tend to stay in warm moist dark places like the pits and groin but if your working out or being physically active suddenly more areas of the body become warm and moist and conversion can occur.

Looks like you have discovered an individual phero scent you are particularly sensitive to. Its nothing to worry about and it really can be any phero.

Personally I get this from P103 and I only get it covered for a short time before an unbearably cheesy stink comes wafting through. Not had any significant negative scent responses from people exposed to it and the hits suggest no problems with other peoples sensitivity either, although it is always a possibility.

I figured it must have been the real scent of the [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) coming through. I didn’t smell it the rest of the night however, and I didn’t smell it when I used the Anol and Bnol today, so I’m thinking it’s the P74, and only right after application. I guess I’ll see when I use it next.

After testing P74…yes, it has what the perfume industry would probably call a sandalwood note to it. ANOL is considered a sandalwood steroid odorant. 5-Alpha ANOL. The levo enantiomer has a weaker sandalwood smell. It’s the mirror image of ANOL. levo-5-Alpha-Androstenol. There are many sandalwood-smelling chemicals, but I’ve never seen one with a 4-ring-type pheromone structure. Most pheros look like cholesterol with the side chain removed, because an enzyme whacks the chain off to make steroids.
