Remember - a referee is only there to ensure all rules are followed, identify when players break those rules, and enforce penalties. We are not there to acually participate in the sport.
I’ll claim lack of prior knowledge as to what the “wresting match” really involved, only that I was asked to referee a “sporting event”.
And - if all else fails - I can use you as a shield.
But yeah - the rolling pin scenario is probably pretty close to what would happen if Mrs. BH found me anywhere near such an event …
