“Researchers say the hormone offers a possible, safe, alternative to alcohol as a means of overcoming the problem”.

Tell me, are all British newspapers this crass and loose with the words? They make it sound like researchers are legitimizing the use of alcohol to treat shyness. Any medical doctor that did this would lose their license in a very short period of time, at least here in the US (of course Britons drink harder, but still… ). Besides, it just doesn’t work. Granted I’ve never gotten seriously hammered but alcohol doesn’t really motivate me to be that more social.

Still, interesting that they found some use for oxytocin. I’m not sure it can be easily delivered as a gas- isn’t that what Liquid Trust tried to do and most pheronauts conclude doesn’t work all that well?

I used to live in the UK back in the 80’s but never read the papers there, too young and didn’t read newspapers in general as a teenager. It does seem the British press is alot more flamboyant than what we get in the US. “Journalism” has a little different meaning here, it’s only really started to change in the last decade or two, I believe, towards more polemical stuff. You can flip on CNN, FOX or MSNBC now days and watch all sorts of viewpoints in the past that used to be considered “not journalism”. Usually they save it for after the “prime time” news, though.

On a side note, I’ll have to experiment with Liquid Trust one of these days, though if price is too high, it probably won’t be worth it. I think WAGG or TAK work decently to reduce “shyness” somewhat. Not a miracle but it is a start.

Agreed, objectivity and Journalism seem to be heading on different paths in newspapers at least.

Anyhoo, back on track, I’ve tried Liquid trust, does seem to elevate mood but I wouldnt say its a cure for shyness. In fact it could all be a placebo, many users have reported poor quality control and I could simply have a dud batch. Maybe one of my other bottles will work out better.

Doesn’t oxytocin trigger labour in pregnant women? I can see that leading to some problems.

Whoa, hopefully this can get developed. Has potential in my opinion.
