couldn’t really think of a more exciting title, sorry. Basically, this is from my journal and was just something I’ve been mulling over for a while now. To lazy to rewrite. Copy and paste is magical… so here it is, a bit long of a read btw:

“Ah, forgot to mention that I’ve been thinking of trying to make a new mix. About a year-ish ago (it’s been that long!) I made a mix that I thought would work well for a friend and he ended up not wanting it cause he was skeptical, its smelled to strong, blah blah blah. It was a really simple mix, probably something that was already made or someone had already made. Now, after learning a LITTLE bit more about some of the putatives and SOME of the ways they work, I’m trying to muster up the courage to make a new mix that won’t SUCK. If I do happen to make this mix, I’ll be taking it to Asia with me along with some of the new goodies or untested stuff I have. So, if anyone has advice on whether its better to composite molecule x and molecule y first before adding to this mixture and letting it composite for a-b amount of time and stuff of that nature, let me know. What I’m REALLY curious about is whether or not mixing certain molecules together first before adding to this mix before adding to another creates a more synergistic effect based on say their molecular structure? (Like van der waals forces, hydrogen bonding, if any of this applies). Are there certain molecules who will in a sense be more attracted to each other and can be diffused like a 2 for 1 molecule? Like say TAA was really attracted to B- Androstenol and as a result tend to move together. If not, CAN you do it in a way so it DOES? So if I composite say -none and TAA together for a while and mix that with another composite of say B- Androstenol and TAF for a SHORTER time. Would that cause the TAA /NONE to in a sense carry/diffuse more so together than say TAA /B- Androstenol , TAA / TAF or NONE/B- Androstenol and NONE/ TAF ? I’m looking for stuff like that. I know its kind of hard cause really, I have (and I’m guessing most of you) no idea what the structures are so we can’t really theorize something like “hey, this molecule has a lot of these bonds which would really work well with this molecule cause of these bonds, so they might carry together in a mixture.” It’s that kind of stuff I’ve been thinking about for a while now, so if anyone knows, please please send me a PM. Hell, even the carriers are a factor so if anyone has insight on perfumer’s alcohol (its what i mix with) lemme know. =D”

It sounds kinda weird and confusing and probably something I’m overthinking that doesn’t really matter, but if that’s the case, at least its an answer to my question. If there’s anything I’m vague about or want me to be clearer, lemme know or PM me.

To answer your question, first we have to know of these types of molecules are polar, any ideas on where to find that out? well, i guess me or zeph or anyone who knows chemistry could find out based on molecular formula. also you have to take into account that these molecules have mass, and that larger molecules diffuse slower.

\*\*as you can see, there are polar and nonpolar sites on the molecues, most likely in order to fit into receptor sites located in the vno or whatever, as to the question of if molecules will stick together… not very well? negligible?

eh, actually I wouldn’t know what the structure would be even if I knew the molecular structure. -\_-;;
I’d probably need molecular structure, GCMS data, IR spec data and H1 and C13 NMR spec data. Even then, I wouldn’t be sure I’d be able to do it.

I guess since a lot of the putatives and stuff are in uncharted territory and could be very important, it might be a bad idea to just give out the structures to the public. Just something I was curious about. Guess it looks like no one is sure about it.
