I’m not sure if this is the right place to pose this question, but I’m curious about the possibility of a pheromone neutralizer. It seems like everyone posts about getting noticed. What about the opposite? What if you wanted to become invisible, or unmemorable? Can you scrub your natural scent off? I can see a lot of useful applications for this, not to mention being a better baseline for testing other [pheromones](https://a314.com/). Thanks in advance for all your responses.

Plain old soap and water is pretty effective - just keep very clean and give your app points a good wash for more specific removal.

Others also swear by the likes of Witch Hazel or Tea Tree gels and anything with hydrogen peroxide will dispose of your pheros very effectively indeed.

Its very hard to eliminate all of your **natural scent** even with plenty of washing because you continuously sweat and breathe. Being very hygienic, using lots of thick lotions like vaseline or eucerin all over and using antiperspirants all over to block the pores and prevent sweating would do it. I dont suggest this though because if you don’t sweat your body can overheat.

Synthetic mones give you control which naturally we don’t have.

Actually its not. You want your mones to mesh with your natural scent so people associate the signal with you.

Products containing triclosan will kill the C. xerosis and other bacteria naturally responsible for producing pheros in the armpit, where many of them like to thrive. Triclosan stays on the skin and inhibits bacteria for many hours. In the 1960s, a craze started in the USA for anti-body-odor soaps that would “keep you fresh all day long.” Be aware that if you use an anti-bacterial or deodorant soap, it may indeed keep the pheros off you a good while. I offer this as a warning more than a recommendation. A man could have (at any given time) as little androstenone in the armpit as a girl, or amounts equivalent to 10 mcg. , or four shots of TUTH.

I regard my now (nearly daily) use of [P75](https://pheromonelabs.com/product/p75/) as a supplement to replace pheros lost in bathing. I may go to 2.5 mcg of TUTH daily if I can get it buffered and covered. So far, I find P75 adequate and easier (but not perfect) to buffer. I prefer to pretty much stick with neroli. And, yes, ANOL and BNOL are natural too, in ratios that shouldn’t surprise you. Yeah, you could make a case for TUTH (or P75) plus IO as a routine supplement. BTW, my MBTI personality is now different–slightly–from 3 months of P75 use. The sexual self-effects border on radical in high amounts (10 mcg.). Dangerous levels of self-confidence.

Now, keep this in mind. Diptheria is part of the same bacteria family (sort of) as C. xerosis. Bad epidemics led to our now obsession with killing bacteria. But if Billy the Kid or even Abe Lincoln was a badass (known for wrastlin’ before he entered politics), maybe some of their distinction is just that they didn’t have indoor plumbing???

So you’re saying that I lose a little bit of manliness and sex appeal every time I shower? I like a nice hot shower way too much to give it up for a few pheromones. 🙂

How did your personality type change? I would like to hear more about that. Right now I’m an INFP. I like that about me.

The general thinking is that ANOL and NONE in the armpit is responsible both for pheros and odor. After washing, pheros may be restored to the unshaven underarm in 6 hours–24 hours for shaved underarms. Depending upon the product, deodorants and antiperspirants reduce phero-producing bacteria by about 90% : they do their job. (Wyatt, 2003; Gower, 1988).

My personality type swung toward Extroversion.

Unfortunately yes but its more the products we use after the shower that do this.

We secrete pheromones not just from our underarms although most older studies have been done there. Current studies show they are in every secretion even tears and saliva and not all of them rely on bacterial conversion but the masculines do seem to as monesmadedoit suggests.

I agree our obsession with hygiene and killing bacteria is not good. It leads to all sort of disease and poor immune function. Not suggesting people should not wash or be hygienic but to much of anything can be bad for you.

I also partly agree with your theory on the men of the past verses our current males although I think there is also an obsession with anxiety. Anxiety is just a form of fear and its a natural reaction to some life events. People now a days are afraid to feel it. Billy and Abe felt it as well they just didnt focus on eliminating it or let it define them. People seem to think Bravery means not feeling anxious or fearful but its not. Its is impossible not to feel in certain situations. Bravery is feeling fear but not letting it define your actions. I find the more you focus on anxiety the more anxious you get.

Agree with all this. Yes, they’ve found pheros in saliva, sweat, underarms, groin and forehead sweat. When looking at any research on pheros, I generally only pay attention to older sources if newer ones (within the last ten years) also cite the older material. My personal opinion–strictly opinion–is that what we call Bad Boy is really more about biology than behavior, although the “bad boy’s” personality has adapted since puberty under the influence of, possibly, high androgens generally and perhaps high pheros. Some of these pheros may not have been well studied and may include [P75](https://a314.com/product/p75/). Having known many bad boys with high sexual prowess, none have anything remarkable about them in an objective sense that would justify this prowess. There is a hidden element to their “success,” and it may be pheros. It may be as simple as that. In using something like P75, I have stolen a bit of their thunder, and I do not accept that my genetics define me.

The greatest obstacle is that there are no easy or simple ways to tell you what your phero signature is naturally. You’d have to take samples and use gas chromatography and so forth. It would require having a test subject with test reports who is also a phero user…to my knowledge, we have no such person here. All of the studies involving college males and females aren’t longitudinal and don’t seem to involve active phero users.

That being said, triclosan particularly lingers on the skin and inhibits bacteria for hours. Certain underarm products can inhibit pheros for hours, because they’ve been designed and marketed to stop body odor–and ANOL and NONE are known to the soap industry for their musky/urine odor. This is where the big $ is, big companies fighting the war on odor, and any aisle at the Wally Mega Mart is loaded with these big sellers.
