I dont have my order yet but I wanted to start my journal and what lead up to me looking into pheromones for my mental and sexual health after Menopause:

January thru June of 2009 I skipped my periods…6 months. I was not really worried, my mom did the early menopause thing and I was under personal stress. In June of 2009 I met my husband and for the next 4 months I had 2 cycles per month…nice! New man, double periods! We were married in January 2010 (yes, 6 months later! Thanks [match.com](http://match.com)).
I started skipping, up to 4 months at a time and having short or double cycles, phantom periods ( i.e. all the symptoms and " no show" ) and yeast infections for all of 2010. I was tired all the time but chalked it up to my thyroid.(its been low all my life) I was feeling down, anxious, kind of sad but I wasn’t, my life is wonderful, my relationship is fantastic, and why was I feeling like this? I just pushed thru.

2011…still having odd periods but not too bad. I start to notice little things like my skin being dry, hot flashes at night, my brain is foggy and I feel jittery sometimes. My vision is blurry, my sex drive is not what it was…new marriage not good, Poor guy! He’s been so wonderful thru all this, he says I’m just fine but he doesn’t know how my body used to feel inside…speaking of…I started to feel something, or rather HE was feeling something inside me…in certain positions he could put me thru the roof!..the motivation I needed to get to the Dr.
I started to read up on bio identical hormones (Susan Somers, Dr. Lee, google…)

The end of 2011 we were in the middle of relocating so I started to look for a Dr. in my new area and found a Dr. who specializes in bio identical hormones not traditional HRT and a compounding pharmacy right down the road!
I was all set to have to convince a male Dr. of my symptoms, but was pleasantly surprised that all I had to say was that I was having hot flashes at night and skipping periods for 4-6 months at a time for the last 3 years…he said I was way too young to be doing that (43) and that we needed to get me healthy! COOL!

He did my pap, ordered blood tests, 14 of them, an ultrasound and a bone density scan. My pap was clear, HPV negative, the ultra sound showed a fibroid under an inch and not in a location to be bumped during intercourse…what I was feeling was the 3 inch cyst on my little one inch ovary. In fact many cysts on both ovaries but that is the one causing the pain. Bones are fine, cholesterol, blood sugar, liver, all fine. Thyroid is still low, even on the meds (3 grain armour thyroid daily since I was 16) and my hormones are in the tank, I have the levels of a 65 year old menopausal woman! My ovaries have shut down. He says I’m prematurely menopausal and he would like to go the bio identical route. He prescribed Biest 2.5 mg, progesterone 100mg and testosterone 2mg. In a cream, once daily, on the wrist.

As of 4/2014 I had officially not had a period for a year I went for new blood tests, exam, ultra sound and mammogram. All were clear and he left me on same cream dose as I started on in 2012.

Sept 2014 feeling a tight full feeling 24/7 made another appointment. Ultra sound shows left ovary cyst is bigger and the right has more small ones. He reduced testosterone to 1.5mg. Scheduled surgery for next month.

October 2014
After two ultra sounds 6 mo. apart the cyst on my left ovary was too large to let go any longer, 5.7 cm, the size of a cue ball. I had surgery to remove both ovaries. Single incision, in the belly button. My feeling was that they had been giving me problems and had already shut down so better than to continue to have issues after menopause. Turns out the left side was not a cyst after all but a fibroma, a sold mass that only occurs in about 4% of patients. NOT a fibroid or cyst as he thought. He was shocked and had never removed one himself.

October 2015
A year after surgery and I’m just not myself. I KNOW it is directly related to having my ovaries removed. I don’t regret it but I do wish I had not needed it done. My mood and sex drive have suffered greatly!
I have spent the past year working on my mental and sexual health. In addition to my thyroid medication (armour Thyroid) and the hormone cream (still at the same dosage) I also take 5-htp, Sam-e, L-tyrosine, MSM, DHEA and magnesium daily to lift mood. They work, I do indeed feel better than I have. Less anxious, less down. The sex-drive/libido part has not gotten any better and it SUCKS! I really really love my husband, we NEVER fight and even if I’m not the initiator our time together is always wonderful.

I WANT to WANT him! I miss my “Horney chocolate weekends” when I was about to “drop an egg” and couldn’t keep my clothes on or my hands off him! (And wanted chocolate) I don’t have the hormone surge anymore! BUMMER!

Side note: we have two female cats, one spayed and one not. They got into an uncharacteristic fight and thru searching for a solution I came across a cat [pheromone spray](https://a314.com/product-category/spray-pheromones/) and thought hummmm…maybe that’s what I need maybe my pheromones are off now that I no longer ovulate?

That leads me to being here now. I found this website searching “pheromones and menopause”.
Thru the help of this forum I am intrigued by the thought of pheromones working. It makes sense to me that I could wear it for myself instead of him wearing it to “attract me”.
I do not want to attract guys at a bar or have people at work open up and talk to me, I want to feel better MYSELF I’m only looking for “self-effects”. So on the recommendation of Lillian I have ordered TUTH and Instant Shine.
I’ll be back!

Wow we have a lot in common. I met my wife [POF.com](http://POF.com) and we knew each other for 6 months then got married to.

My wife has PCOS and has a very low energy level/sex drive. I mean we have lots of sex but I know the passion is not there for her like it is for me. A lot of the time we have sex because she knows I want to. I tell her we don’t have to if she doesn’t want to but she always says everything is ok, but I know there is something more that is wrong.

She is borderline on her thyroid as well. She is heavier also due to the PCOS. She can’t lose any weight to save her life no matter what kind of healthy food and how much she exercises. I know this id due to the hormone imbalance. She has been to numerous specialists and doctors with no luck at all.

She also does get random periods. Sometimes she will go 6 months without a period and then sometimes get it 3 weeks apart or so. Sometimes when we have sex she seems to get it the next day to.

So I can really understand what you are going through as I feel that reading from your story I am going through the same things.

She thought about just having the hysterectomy and just do the HRT. She gets a sharp pain on her right side a lot to. She gets cysts on her ovaries but don’t know much about how bad it is.

So any advice you have we are all ears and almost anything is worth a try at this point.

I did a lot of testing with my wife to see what worked best and I did a pretty big report with TUTH and other single molecules and it is post #77 in my journal.

I found with my wife TUTH and P96 is what seemed to turn her on the most.

TAC is another great molecule and seems to help my wife a lot with cramps.

Kimberly,
I’m glad you started a journal and thank you for sharing. My BF suffers from depression so I’ve been using some things on him as well as myself.

Because I love my job so much and we are often in survival mode with his children we get every other week…we are often too tired to get to us, which is a lazy answer but the truth. I can go without, but he can’t and I TUTH myself to ensure I can give him the attention he needs. I really hope TUTH works for you, but if it doesn’t please let us know, there may be a PH here or a combo that can get you going and the people at AD may be able to provide some advise as well.

IMO: I found after my week of TUTH testing we had a solid week of going like “rabbits”. It helped that we had done date stuff and carved out time for ourselves despite having the children that week.

At any rate, I posted more to subscribe to your thread and now I have…l wish you the very best and hope to read from you soon.

P.s. You’ll find a good bulk of the people here just want to be a bit happier or just want to change the slightest thing in their interactions with people, loved ones or just hope for better possibilities of being loved…and of course maybe a few very horny apples in the bunch. In large, there are great people here in forum and one of the reasons I’ve returned and stayed. I learn something daily about myself and being a better person.

Thanks so much for the support!

so here it goes: I’m going to try to update real time so I don’t have to make notes in two places, it may sound like I’m “talking to myself” so don’t mind if the posts are edited or I make more than one a day.
note: My Husband knows I got them and why but I’m not going to tell him if and when I’m wearing. ie: no expectations.

11/9 I received my package and sprayed Shine on my wrist right away (4:30 pm) mostly curious about the scent. I got a slight headache (uggg!).Stayed up a bit later than usual have no idea if its related I’m just stating facts at this point.

11/10 One spray of each, Shine and TUTH while I got ready in the morning. (7:30 ish)I sprayed on one wrist swiped to the other and tapped a bit of each under my nose and chin. My cat went nuts sniffing the air in the bathroom, clearly there is “something” in this, good to know! I added my own jasmine oil perfume after about 30 min. I do not really care for the manly scent of TUTH and I get a bit of “cat pee” wafting ever so slight. Again good to know this is the real deal!

slight back-of-the-neck headache pretty much right away after spraying kind of a bummer but not splitting. Its also good to note that I have the nose of a bloodhound and get headaches from bleach, gas, hairspray and most perfumes so this is not unusual for me. However If this were “just a perfume” I would not wear it anymore and with this of course I want to so I’m hoping its temporary and not related.

Its 11:00 now and I’ve been almost Hyper focused this morning and got nearly all my work done before noon! cool! headache is better but lingering. I don’t feel “up” or extra happy per se but I DO NOT feel sad! that’s pretty huge in my book!

I work in a suite of offices behind a closed door, all by myself for the most part so I truly will not have much opportunity to see if others are affected at all, but again I’m only looking for the self effects so…

Later!

2:00pm update: head ache is gone I am definitely having a good day, mood is high and I’ve called my husband 4 times today, for this and that. I’m not feeling sexy or wanting necessarily but a bit upbeat and “lovey”. I don’t smell the man smell as strong which makes me wonder if I should apply twice a day? anyone?

Lillian,

On a side note with your BF and depression. I can not say enough how much 5-HTP and Sam-e have helped me! The 5-HTP alone made a huge difference within a week and adding Sam-e really helped with the “waking anxiety” (does he wake up anxious?)

Gotta love finding your spouse on line!😉

One thing I’d like to advise for your wife is to find an endocrinologist for the thyroid. A family doc or a gyno will usually not treat “borderline” and it NEEDS to be treated! Years ago mine was borderline (shut down completely now, years later) and once I found an endo that would treat symptoms and not blood work numbers it made a world of difference. have her check out the website \ ***stopthethyroidmadness**.com \*its almost information overload but a great place to start. We women are complicated creatures! The overies, thyroid, adrinals and pituitary are all linked and we have to treat them all!

I don’t know what either of those things are, are they a medicine or herb? I asked him, he has no idea. He stopped taking medicine months ago and has been just eating well and cut out a lot of processed food. We eat a lot of organic and grow our own herbs, it seems to have helped with his depression a lot as well as the his son’s ADD, though recently his son has been taking in a lot of sugar (Halloween).

He doesn’t wake up anxious but can get anxious during the day.

As for your headaches…start out slowly with the PHs. A lot of users, especially ones that do not often wear scents get headaches. I even get headaches sometimes when testing some mixes, which I have to make sure to note for other tests of similar types of products etc.

I would recommend start with less if you are getting a headache and go slowly. Maybe wait 30 minutes before smelling your wrist after you spray etc or spray only 1/2 spray and wait or apply to a location that will not give you such a direct contact. When I want others to get the affects, but not get a headache I usually spray the back of my neck.

This link will help you [Application points 101: chest, neck and ears, and taming -none products under a shirt](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/application-points-101/52170) these are some good spots and other users can provide assistance as well.

Animals are VERY susceptible to [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/). My dog loves it when the package arrives in the mail, her pupils dilate almost entirely and she clings to me so closely. She smells directly on the spot I apply, ie my wrist and she tries to lick it…I don’t let her, but she knows exactly the spot of application.

As for application, a lot of people reapply as these things don’t last forever. You will get varying answers on re-application times. I would recommend you get accustomed to the pheromones before dosing yourself again, at the same time, more frequent (low) dose may help you get past the headache…It really is your choice on approach. I would suggest 4-6 hours after first dose to reapply if you are going to, you can wait longer, but you may not want to reapply before then until you get more used to these.

Both the 5 htp and SAM-e are both natural supplements and can be found at the health food store. I have seen 5 http at Walmart. To sleep I use

Kava this is a natural sedative and helps to relax

Valerian this helps to fall asleep faster. Works by slowing your central nervous system down. So the body slows down like it does when it sleeps.

Whatever you do I wouldn’t combine these 2 or at least in high doses. It is not likely but could stop your heart if combined in high doses.

good to know thank you both

We’ve been to a Kava bar a few times…like going out drinking…made us both woopy and we slept great, minus hangover 🙂

Neither of us seem to have issue with falling asleep. I more find I can’t sleep on certain [pheromone](https://a314.com/shop/) mixes…and I already knew that was more excitement etc…like caffeine.

As I type I’m literally watching BF and the dog spooned up together ENTIRELY asleep tv on and all…I don’t know how they do it!!!

Oh geez! That reminds me of a scene from that Beethoven-the-Dog movie. Maybe he just doesn’t think he’s spooning a dog. Better watch out. Lol.

They are both amino acids, precursors to seritonin, which is what the ssri’s (Prozac etc) are boosting. Taking the amino acids helps your body create more, naturally with no side effects.

You can get them at most healthfood or drugstores. I usually order off amazon. Sam-e is not cheap. I felt a huge difference with just the 5-htp alone. He will know if it’s working, it will not take long, for sure within a month. I started with 200 mg in the morning. Now that I added the Sam-e I reduced it to 100 mg a day. I also have a chewable tab of 5-htp at work that I take mid day some days.

I totally understand about no more drugs and all natural. I’m the same way with my hormones, thyroid and mood(hence finding this place). Even my skin care!

I’ll also add that my 19 year old is full blown ADHD. When he was young and I was not as educated as I am now…I medicated him.☹ he has now learned to set reminders on his phone and stop and think before he acts. These ADD kids are the most intelegent and creative its us adults that can’t deal with it! 😉 fish oil and L-tyrosine help their little brains! (by the way I also take L-tyrosine, it’s the third amino in depression to boost emotional well being and brain fog, helps the Nero transmitters)

You are obviously a person to research and experiment. I encourage you to research amino acids for your boys! (we can talk about trace minerals too, super important)

I can’t thank you enough for your help here. I will check out that link and spray in a different place today…

last night:
one observation, hubby pushed up against me at the kitchen sink last night, my typical “non response” would have been to keep doing what I’m doing, give him an “I love you too” and a kiss. This time I very spontaneously pushed back and we did a bit of a kitchen dance (aka the booty bump and grind) while I washed dishes. Nothing earth shattering but a different response for me for sure. I slept soundly.

(I’ll note here that hubby hurt his back this weekend, so he’s less apt to want to get down and dirty, which is perfect timing as far as I’m concerned, gives me a chance to do my “tests”)

Day 2 11/11
With Lillian’s advise I sprayed not quite a full spray of each on my chest, and blotted my wrists over it just as it dried down. I put my own perfume on my wrists and dabbed some under my nose. This kept it the pheromones off my face and allowed me not to smell it so pungently. I really don’t like the smell but its not unbearable. No head ache today, so far. I think I would have had one by now.

so this is a strange one. Yesterday I thought I was starting to get a sore throat. I live in Florida and its finally starting to cool down and I do sometimes have a reaction to weather, so I thought nothing of it. I realize now that it had dissipated by the end of the day because it came back this morning after I sprayed. On my way to work I started to feel like the roof of my mouth/soft pallet/back of throat was sore/scratchy even a bit puffy? I googled it and found out that we have pheromone sensing glands near the tonsil and on the roof of the mouth and connected to the sinus’. So did this stuff “activate” that gland? again glad to feel a physical effect (I’m going to research more).

Edit: I found this. guess my adenoids are working!
Olfaction (also accepted as olfactics; adjectival form: “olfactory”) is the faculty of smell. This faculty is advised by specialized acoustic beef of the nasal atrium of vertebrates, and, by analogy, acoustic beef of the antennae of invertebrates. Many vertebrates, including mammals and reptiles, accept two audible adenoids systems—the capital adenoids system, and the accent adenoids arrangement (used mainly to ascertain pheromones). For air-breathing animals, the capital adenoids arrangement detects airy chemicals, and the accent adenoids arrangement detects fluid-phase chemicals.1 For water-dwelling organisms, e.g., angle or crustaceans, the chemicals are present in the surrounding water. Olfaction, forth with taste, is a anatomy of chemoreception. The chemicals themselves that actuate the adenoids system, in accepted at actual low concentrations, are alleged odorants.

I am definitely more focused again today. Very strange. I guess I was not expecting such a clear response.

I think I will only use the shine tomorrow and only TUTH on Friday to see if I can tell which gives me which effects.

The throat feeling has dissipated. I never got a head ache but my head feels kind of "full"not painful, kind of feels like I had a headband on. I also feel tired, not sleepy but drained almost like a sugar crash. all in all I don’t feel bad or sad or anxious and that is all I care about right now!

Great journal so far. If I have questions about some natural products I hope you don’t mind but I would like to ask you for sure like a go to person.

I take a lot of supplements besides a multi vitamin especially for mood support.

I grew up in Ft.Lauderdale and really miss it. Florida is beautiful.

With the weather changing I found everyone here getting sore throats. Every year this happens and wife and I use Echinacea and zinc cough drops and it helps us get over this a lot faster.

> so this is a strange one.

The chemicals themselves that actuate the adenoids system, in accepted at actual low concentrations, are alleged odorants

This is really great information and just want to thank you for this. I think this should go in the Pheromone Theory as this is highly useful.

Great work!!!

Of course, ask away! If I don’t know the answer, I’ll find it. I’m a bit of a natura-path junkie.
Yes it is beautiful in Florida, I don’t take advantage of our weather like I should. I suppose I take it for granted .

Last night:
By the end of the day I was over smelling like a stinky boy. I jumped in the shower as soon as I got home, but still the scent was there. I ended up using alcohol and a make up wipe after my shower to get it off. The fullness in my head and weird throat feeling lingered in the background till bed. Annoying but not painful. I guess it proves that less is more, I don’t think I need so much.

I’m glad I went a bit heavy in the beginning, I can already see what people are talking about as far as a “sweet spot” both in location and amount. And I also see why you should only use one at a time until you know what’s what!

My mood over all yesterday was better, lighter. I felt like cuddling on the couch after dinner. This is a big one for me since it’s the “want” that I’m looking for. I slept soundly.

Day 3 11/12
Today I did not use any TUTH. Just shine, one spray, on the wrist. I think having it on my chest and face was too much too soon. I’m going to see how it is to have it on my wrist and sniff throughout the day rather than be inondated by it all day. I’ll be interested to see about my throat today, since I have a sneaking suspicion it’s the TUTH that I reacted to.

two hours after application: (one spray of Shine on my wrist as I put my makeup on, so my wrists were close to my face.) WOAH! HUGE difference! shine by itself is MUCH “softer” less harsh and completely mood lifting. My throat has just the slightest tingle, that I would not even notice if I wasn’t “looking for it”. NO headache.

I actually skanked to a little reggae in the car, on the way to work! WHAT?

I am pretty knowledgeable about “mind over matter” and “placebo”. This is not. I don’t want to jump the gun but I can see that when I’m in a slump a couple sprays of shine would pull me out. I truly feel uplifted, the dullness that I’ve been feeling for over a year is lifting. I can see that I could get back to myself with Shine alone. Maybe TUTH is just too harsh for my soft feminine self. Plus as I stated from the beginning, I don’t really feel like I need help _ **in** _ the bedroom. I just need to _want_ to get _ **to** _ the bedroom and shine would get me there. (hope hubbys back feels better by the weekend 😉 )

lunch time:
not as focused as I was the past two days. That must come from the “Manley-mones”.(TUTH)
I probably could have used two sprays of IS. I don’t feel a come down per se but I think it may have dissipated. I will spray again when I get home. Id like to test it in a home/family situation rather than here at work/alone, and see If I get that same initial boost I got right away this AM.
