> The reason I ask is I really cant stand civit. Well most people cant LOL. I know this would be harder for you to notice because its your mix and you would recognize the scents in the mix but do you think the civit in it is noticable to someone who would recognize the scent or is it buried enough to go unnoticed?

I really doubt you’d recognise the civet, but then again I don’t have your nose so I don’t know.

Many eo’s are objectional to most people at high concentrations. I have some fine ouds that my daughter will run away from if I wear them straight.

I cannot tell a lie. I can definitely recognize the civet, in both the bottom and top notes. But I don’t know how many others can.

Moreover, I put quite a bit in, due to the powerful aphrodisiac and attractant function of it. It is one of the most powerful natural substances in its effects on people. It’s pure pheromones. The stuff is extremely expensive, but was important for the overall impact.

But there is an unbelievably huge difference betweeen disliking civet by itself, straight, which – you’re right – most everyone does; and disliking it in it’s role in a perfume. Many of the finest scents in the history of the planet contain civet. It truly works magic in a perfume.

It’s very much like the androstenone of natural musks. Most people think androstenone by itself stinks too. But few pheromone users would want to be without it.

Most people who _hate_ civet by itself _absolutely lov_e its effects in a perfume. They might not know it, and might not admit it, but they do. Civet is definitely one of the things that gives _Pheros_ that sort of “other worldly” quality.

I love civet very much, but would never spread a large dab of straight civet all over myself. That would be like an OD from hell. I’d smell like a mixture of cat pee (due in part to its -none content), dirty teeth, and ass.

Having said that, there are some few people with a true sensitivity or aversion to the stuff, even when concealed deep within a perfume. You might be one of those people. Or maybe not. Only you could know.

Hmmm I would probably recognize it then. Its the only scent I have come across that makes me gag and hug the porcelain god in the bathroom. I am sure not that bad for everyone it just dosnt go well for me.

I have read its a great aphrodisiac. Do they really kill the cats to get it?

Bet ya put Ambergris in there 😛 I know I know cant tell LOL

There’s not so much in there that the perfume would smell gross, as anyone who owns it could attest. That’s not to say you’d like the perfume.

I have more than ten years of experience working with musks, and know how to walk the line; to recognize the sweet spots with different substances.

Some people have a sensitivity to civet, almost like an allergy. That’s what I’m talking about moreso than the smell. There wouldn’t have to be a smell for those people to have a reaction. You could be one of those people. If so, I’d stay away from it.

But a little knowledge can be dangerous. For example a lot of people rave about how bad they hate patchouli, and yet the vast majority of those same people love perfumes that contain it, considering how many do. Patchouli is one of the most common fixatives. I think at one time most all perfumes contained civet as well, as a fixative. Even fake civet smells gross in raw form. The untrained nose usually can’t detect it. They extract it without killing the animal, BTW.

But very few people really accept that the most aversive smells, in their proper context, are typically the most attractive and alluring. It’s ironic, and just hard to wrap your head around, unless you’ve experienced the effect a number ot times, in different ways.

As a perfumer, the worse something stinks like ass or other bodily phenomena in its raw form, the more you will like it, as a general rule. You are going to use something at 1/1000 concentration, or something like that. Bodily smells are almost unfailingly rated as people’s favorites.

The irony goes even deeper; in that, not only do people like those scents the best, they also characterize those scents as “fresh smelling”! Light musk is the smell of fresh laundry, for example, or of your significant other just out of the shower. When you smell “fresh” air out in the country, part of what makes the air smell fresh are the faint smells of skunks and other animals. Those smells are also what make you inhale more deeply, which is of course good for you.

That so true, I dont care for Pachouli in its straight EO form but I do buy alot of products with it as part of the mix. I do enjoy it when its done right.

I guess this explain a little about cops. Not mone wise but scent wise. I wear them and they stink to high heaven but it dosnt really bother me anymore and people will always say “Oh you smell so good today” I am thinking Jeez Im wearing butt cheese LOL.

I may very well have some kind of allergy to civet. I am not sure. I have smelt some wicked wicked things but this is the only one I ever react to like that. Could have been that it was just to strong in the mix or just a bad mix. I have never smelt it straight.

This is a very valid point. Reminds me of a conversation I had regarding the taste of oral sex. I was asked if I actually enjoyed it, and my response was “Well, it’s not like I’d spread it on a sandwich or anything, but there, in the heat of the moment, when all synapses are firing and the blood is flowing through my body like lava, it’s the best tasting thing in the world.”

Erm… Was that too crude? BTW, Dr., where can I get Pheros? Sounds like a product I’d love to try.

lol Does it still exist ? I spent one and a half hour in a Pizza Hut in Scotland eating pizzas… the waiters started looking at me weirdly and they somewhat felt relief when I eventually told them I was French ! 😮
Eating pizzas after pizzas with people seeing you behind the shopwindow can be more powerful than some pheros to attract people ! The question is… are they the people you’re chasing ? I don’t think so… 😕

Anyway, as for depression… eat chocolate ! Do sports (especially if you eat a lot of chocolate) and remember that being single means… being able to play the Game and use pheros ! 🆒

Thanks for your interest! All I can tell you is to Google “pheros” and follow the first link you see to buy it. It wouldn’t be cool to hawk my product directly on a site that doesn’t sell it; a site that is technically supposed to be a “competitor.”

BTW: LOL! I love the “spread it on a sandwich” comment! At some point I’m going to quote you on that.

Haha… sweet! Hitting up Google now. Also, Androtics needn’t worry about me. They’ve got a solid customer, and from what I’ve read from others, Pheros works synergistically with their stuff, so it’s win-win. I can appreciate your professional courtesy. 🙂

Habib: just hang in there man. You are not alone on depression. I also feel the urge to just get drunk for no particular reason due to this. I haven’t lived very long compared to many on this planet, but I’ve lived long enough to actually start to see my own limitations and that’s always tough.

Depression is very very difficult to come by. Even though I most always come out of it with some kind of new strength and “hopes for a better future”, I seem to get stuck again at the wrongest of times.

I read a book called “touched with fire” (can’t remember author) which is a book about manic depression as a catalyst to great names up through history, particularily artists. Kinda a half-good read. It didn’t cure me from depression, just helped me get more info on the subject.

Note that MANIC depression (Actually today it’s called bipolar disease) is something else than being depressed. Only manic depressives go into a so-called MANIAC state after a period of depression where they’re really so happy and upbeat they can’t sit still. Then they go wham! down to a depression again. I guess the new name fits this “disease” better (you’re moving from one extreme to another).

But onto track again:

Trying to be objective, I’d say the most effective tools for curing depression (MY depressions at least) is (in prioritized order):

1. realizing life is what it is: get kids, get home, get normal job, get money, get happy
2. friends in un-competitive settings (video games, movies)
3. taking 1 whole week off without phone, without internet. bathe, drink and do nothing (stress relief in other words).
4. remembering that september, october, april and may (could differ) are “the evil months” - a transitional state (“oh no another year went by”).
5. FINISHING something. I work with video, so my projects are never “finished”. There’s always some shitty details that refuse to solve themselves (audio glitches, bad pixels, wrong lighting, camera shake blah blah) before I deliver the material. Stressy as hell. Therefore, I actually enjoy re-painting rooms or doing other “manly-man” jobs, since you actually can SEE and FEEL the progression up unto a finished project. I guess most artists and semi/pseudo-artists get really tense due to the fact that their work is never really “done”.

Hope this helps somewhat. Actually this post reminded me that alcohol is not a long-term solution (got kinda thirsty 🙂) and I would consider the “intoxicating” state you get from pheromones to be equally short-term.

I guess we all should find a girlfriend, just anyone, for a long-term relationship and dedicate ourselves to our family. Even I, at only 26, feel I’ve experienced all there is besides that. When we’re trying to trick life, we trick ourselves. Admitting all clichés are true is a good first step I guess 🙂

OK I’ll stop babbling. Jeez… Androtics should get something the OPPOSITE of instnant openness 🙂

Hey there Habib,

How’s it goin buddy? Well I read your post about the depression and I thought I would relate to you a little.

I have not been depressed on a regular basis, but this used to happen to me periodically.

I found out about an adaptogenic root from Peru called maca. I waited quite a while before ordering this stuff, but I have tell you guys, this stuff is awesome.

I bought some from a company called Navitas Naturals. Here’s the website.

[About Maca Power - Maca Power](http://www.navitasnaturals.com/product-info/maca-power/about-maca-power.html)

I’ll let you read about the stuff rather than making this a 2 mile long post.

Basically in a nutshell, since taking this stuff, I no longer have depression issues. In fact, my wife tells me that my mindset since taking this stuff has changed perceptively, (in a good way) and she likes that as it helps her stay positive as well.

On a side note, my wife and I both have been seeing very nice side effects of pheromones, mainly A314, Instant Shine and [Instant Honesty](https://a314.com/product/instant-honesty/). I even used the Spaceland product when I went to my dentist for a checkup and they were scary weird. I put 10 sprays on my head. I won’t do that again…or maybe? lol

If you want to know more, message me.

Take care.
