I’ve got a little problem and I need some advice.

I’m going to my boyfriends show on Oct. 1st. He plays bass in a Grindcore band. I can appreciate this type of music but it’s not something I listen to on a regular basis. Here’s my problem: In all of our 14 years of knowing eachother, I’ve never been to one of his shows. I have sensitive hearing and if you’ve ever been to a metal show… it is LOUD. I want to go and be his “biggest fan” but I know I’ll be cringing the whole time. That doesn’t exactly scream “I’m havin a great time” ya know? Are there -mones that downplay the senses… in this case, hearing? I know there are some that heighten, but what about opposite?

I know I can go get earplugs but that’s kind of an insult to a big group of metal heads… not tryina go there! Other advice, aside from mones, is welcome!

Thanks 😛

No generally they tend to stimulate not downplay.

Have your tried ear plugs. The good type that fit right inside the canal and block out like 75 to 85 % of the sound. This way you can still hear it but it wont be loud.

I was literally going through a long, long list of the products in my head , those I have tried and those I haven’t to see which one could work.

I definitely agree with Tish on this one. The best you can do is get those really small earplugs that no one can detect and at the same time just try enjoying the music and the atmosphere.

Personally, when I was younger I loved rock music, now I can’t stand any music too loud or that kind of crowd.

Have fun and tell us what happened. 😃
