I’m in marketing and whilst I typically dislike the “direct style” of web advertising as a consumer, I have to say, it works!

I’ve split-tested the “long copy” sites vs. short copy, and high graphics vs. low graphics, etc. Whilst it might seem “cheesy” to some of you long-term users (anyone long-term in ANYTHING is always skeptical of ad copy, especially hyped-up copy, because they’re way past being sold to - they just want the hard facts), to newbies and curious vistors, this type of excitement is often just what they need to push them to the purchase.

A VERY similar site (in terms of design and style) was [TrafficSecrets.com](http://TrafficSecrets.com). The style sucked. The copy was decent (a $10K writer was hired for the job, but still, this thing took up 169 letter-sized pages, ALL in one long scroll!!!).

The reason I mention it - that site made $1.8 million in 24 hours of its launch. I know, because I was there when it did it.

Of course, there were many factors in play here. He already had a decent sized e-mail list of past customers who were eagerly salivating its launch, and a lot of joint venturing going on with other publishers. But still. The design sucked. And the page scrolled to infinity.

I make oodles of cash with these kinds of websites. In a lot of cases, they simply sell better.

However - I must say, Andro have the perfect balance, IMO. The forum is a genius idea (without it, the site alone would barely get any action, I’m sure of it). The best marketing harmony between site and community I’ve seen in a while!

> At first I thought it was satire. However, when I clicked on “purchase” I realized it’s probably the worst commercial website I have seen–ever. And indeed terrible in every way: graphics, design, organization and ad copy. Sheesh, the page is almost 10 feet long too! He might as well make a matching late night infomercial complete with a pock faced guy in lab coat and twitching bimbos.

> If the product is good, it deserves a real writer and designer. The presentation is so bad it’s gonna be a hard sell.

Agreed. The website is an embarrassment and its association with Androtics hurts Androtics image.

I don’t know how well it’s selling, but look at the presentation of Primal Instinct, Alter Ego etc and they still are one of the top sellers.

I just wish Futurist could break the information into different sections with FAQ, product description etc instead of one long scrolling page.

However all the user testimonials on that website are from postings made by different forum users of the pherotalk website (in the MX101 thread link posted by Ail).

The reaction rate has been close to 80% for me as I mentioned to Futurist in a PM which is far better than I get from any high -none product like Primal Instinct, NPA, Alter Ego etc.

If you read the MX101 thread you will notice in one post he mentions that if AE or NPA or PI works for you, you are better off sticking with that product, i.e. experts or long time phero users who have understood how to get those products to work for them by adding softer pheros (like Instant Openness, Scent of Eros etc.).

PMX101/Pheroproof was designed to be a standalone like Ammunition. It has the same scent as Ammunition as well.

However it has a much higher dosage of androstenone. 3 sprays (the standard dose) delivers 18.75 mcg of -none according to the pheroproof website. Still the ratios of other friendly [social pheromones](https://a314.com/product-category/social-pheromones/) seem to give it a happy upbeat vibe.

Guys tend to respect me, and crowd around me, be friendly towards me (people may mistake that as them coming on to you but I think it’s just because they are looking up to you and want to be associated with you since you seem like such a cool guy). Sometimes my friends just want to share stories, buy me drinks, they do whatever to keep me around them as long as possible. I have found this is the time when women show the most interest in me as well although they won’t be as overt as guys.

Both are different in their effects. PMX101 is intense. It’s not for everyday use for sure. Once the friendly pheromones dissipate you are left with an intense -none signature. Very prone to buildup. Ammo is more user friendly. It’s milder so it’s easy to control the dosage and effects.

I agree, Carrie, it’s incongruent with how Androtics usually presents itself.

However: Anybody who has understood how long copy salesletters really work will confirm that this website must be successful (if targeted traffic is driven to it). The great people who are contributing to this forum are not exactly the kind of people who will buy Pheroproof because of the website.

But there are many, many people out there who will order a product because **good** (=working, not pretty) long copy in a sales letter has always worked and will always work, online or offline. What is “good” for the subconscious of the average prospect is very different from what is “good” or “serious” for the conscious mind of most contributors to this forum.

Just some thoughts from somebody who has studied those “long scrolling ugly looking sales pages” for quite some time.

> I wore the product called Pheroproof today and the guy who made it was right it certainly proves that pheromones work. However this product is dangerous, every gay guy in the gym tried to hit on me and many straight men were looking at me as if they wanted to make out or something. It was terrible. Then I saw my friend who I was trying to impress with this stuff and she promptly began to talk to me as if I were her gay shopping buddy!! When the creator of this product writes in his advertisement about how bouncers say whats up to him a certain way ,I think he doesn’t realize that they probly just wanted to screw him. The power of this product cannot be denied but I think this product would do better being marketed to women. If anyone else has any experience with this product I would like to hear how their results turned out. At least this product smelled good though.

Hi M3turbo,

The fact that every guy was looking at you doesn’t sound like a bad thing. Unless this was some gym for gay guys, clearly they were not romantically interested in your. Perhaps they thought you seemed like a great guy, or the alpha male. I don’t know what your natural [pheromone](https://a314.com/) profile is, but I suggest you try it in nightclub environments where women are looking to meet someone.

You don’t like the product, no problem, send me a private message and we will get you your money back, plus you get to keep the two bonus products.

To address the other comments on the cheesyness of the site, yes, it is cheesy, and ugly, but that’s what happens when you make your own websites.

Given the money I have put into creating this product, I’m not going to start spending more on creating websites. My investment has been in developing product not that site. I don’t do websites or marketing well, I just created a mix that I thought worked really well, and spent a long time testing combinations to arrive at the formula.

Down the road, I’d like to pay someone to make the site classier. In the meantime, I have to do what I can in this salesletter format
and try to sell what I can.

If at the end of the day, you care about having a good product, then Pheromone Proof might be of interest to you. I’m sorry, the marketing – I can’t do that right and it’s not my thing, and frankly, in the end it doesn’t matter.

I wrote a length reply to this under another forum account, but it doesn’t seem to have shown (set to moderation for some odd reason), so I’ll keep this one short -

I’m a marketer. I’ve used long-copy VERY successfully. Yes, sites can look cheesy, and I _always_ get people telling me that “scrolling and reading through all that text would bore them to tears”.

But you know what?

Testing it vs. highly graphical sites, the long-copy nearly always wins, hands down. And not by a small margin either. When I’ve chopped out all the graphics, sales can double - literally.

It may be cheesy to the people on this forum. After all, you guys here are “in the know”. You just want the cold, hard facts - which Androtics orchestrate brilliantly with their combination of community and shopping cart.

But there are plenty of people who head over to google and type “how to attract more women”, and are looking to be pitched on something in the long-copy line. And in those instances, it can work… very, very well.

I personally don’t care for image. What a company does with their marketing is entirely up to them. I don’t own any stock in them. I just want them to keep selling so they keep in business, and keep fulfilling my order.

It’s a capitalistic society we live in, and if Androtics or someone they are friends with have found a way to make more money whilst hopefully selling a great product in the process, then what the hell, more power to them.

Nice way to side against the guy who was sticking up for you, there!

Obviously you’ve gotta do it right. TrafficSecrets dot-com was 163 pages long and looked very similar in style to your own site (bare graphics, text formatting, etc). It sold $1.8M in a single day in 2004.

I’m not about to unleash an all-out marketing rant on this, but sales depends on many factors.

I can tell you from first-hand experience of spending $15,000 on a _beautiful_ site that never made more than a handful of sales and then switching the damn thing to a clean sales pitch that now sells hand over fist, that the marketing balance is a fine one.

Androtics do it beautifully with this forum. It’s a stroke of genius.

Still… had I landed on a page that bitched about other pheremone products, hooked me into a follow-up responder and allowed me to test drive products on a low-cost, bill-later rebill, I would have bitten all the same.

Keep at it… just test _everything_.

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to fail to appreciate you sticking up for the site. I just don’t want people getting the impression that a) I am cleaning up, because it’s been quite the contrary and b) this is yet another [pheromone product](https://a314.com/shop/) that is about marketing gimmicks and not about a product that works, because it’s quite the contrary.

I think if the common Joe who is looking for, or has some interest in an attraction product, actually has the chance to veiw the website, then it will trigger a very good response to buy, I am just your common joe, and if i had no prior experience with pheromones, i would not hesitate to give it a blast, as i really think that the page will work well, BUT BUT BUT, it all comes back to the common joe actually being aware of the word pheromone, and then as well having enough people to actually veiw the site, so many people just are not going to be aware of what is available and also what to look for, if you had enough male visitors i am sure your sales would do ok, i think it is just a matter of getting the the site veiwed by enough people. Good luck anyway, if my wallet was a bit heaver i sure would pick up on it, and i hope you can get the support from them that can spare a few dollars. and good on you for having a go.🙂

well for me, pherlure got me cuz it had a “study” proving it works and also had magazines and stuff recommending it… now im not sayin u need, can, or have 2 do this but it seems like a good strategy.

I wish u good luck with this because u seem like someone that has taken the time to create ure own product and market it, also being a member of the pherotalk forums i hope u have great success

yea, the fake study and the paid magazine ads. in any case, I actually have included a lot of real scientific evidence. the problem is, consumers don’t want to hear “increases lutenizing hormone” , they want to hear “the users reported an increase in sex by 59 percent; flirting by X percent, etc etc” If you look at the successful sites, that’s what they do. They are marketing machines.

Futurist You have a great product and thats the most important thing. Business may be slow now and the web site may not be just the way you want it but give it time and you will see results even with the cheesy website LOL (sorry). I think your website just may not appeal to the experienced mone user because we have tried alot of products from similar sites before finding smartmones. But there is a whole world of newbies out there so dont give up.

I dont know much about web advertising but remember that “word of mouth” can really bring in business. Once people use your product and see it works they will mention it to friends. It may take a little longer for that to happen with guys products because guys are more tight lipped about these things but it will happen. Hell I have already sent about 5 people over to smartmones that never even knew what a pheromone was. Just look at the posts from Ail about MMU and love potion they almost caused a stampied and alot of us ordered from them. In time the money will start coming in and then you can make the web site just the way you want it.

Best of luck

Tisha
