I was angry about her hiding from me, so when she told me to back off and give her space, I didn’t hear it in time to stop myself from complaining. I should have just shut up and left right then. In my head what was going on was that she was being ridiculous, lost in some fantasy of miscommunication…

From what you are saying, I suspect – and I’m feeling kinda foolish this didn’t dawn on me before – that she was NOT reacting to your pheros… But that YOU, kSage, were reacting to your pheros and the self effects on your own attitude were what _she_ was primarily reacting to. Tater seems to think most pheromones work this way. It makes a lot sense considering the day you stayed the farthest from her (but then confronted her) was the day you got booted.

Definitely agreed. You have my sympathy.

I came late for a massage appointment. This was a massage therapist who works out of a yoga studio. I assumed she’d be happy to get an hour’s pay (plus the normal tip) for a half hour’s work. Traffic happens in the big city. It wasn’t her fault and I was happy to pay for the full hour, but this woman would never schedule me again! I’d been seeing her for years and I thought we got along fine. This incident had nothing to do with pheromones, but these people can be so sensitive!

After you’ve been wearing your A314 for a while, maybe your boss will give you a good raise. You’ll seem so much more inportant!

Oh and Tisha, when your husband and son are around, you stay away from me, okay…

Hope you’re right. Have only worn pheros 4 times now and I can’t really tell if I’m getting a reaction or not most of the time. But folks here seem to think it takes some time of wearing them before noticeable reactions happen.

Well, I haven’t read Tater’s posts on the subject, but I, too, feel that the primary effects of pheros are self-effects, though my improv class demonstrated unmistakable group effects so those are not to be discounted.

On the other hand, I was on my mat and truly focused on my workout. I have to believe this particular teacher was reacting to my phero cloud.

Consider that the day I got booted was the day I wore 2 sprays of instant honesty and the day she broke 2 months of refusing to admit anything was wrong to instead tell me she wanted me to back off. I mean, I couldn’t have been more physically backed off. She was talking about energetically backing off.

UPDATE
My convo with the husband never happened. He was out of town for a while before this event and it turns out he never came back; they got divorced instead. So I would guess that marital stress played a big role in this saga.

Anyway, I’ve come to terms with the whole situation and how I created it and thank you for all your support. I leave this thread as a cautionary tale: pheros can backfire on you in unexpected ways. But then again, so can any kind of power.

No. The most specific requests I got from here were to “back off” and “give [her] space.” The criticisms I got were that my “energy was all over the place” and I wasn’t respecting her personal boundaries (never mind that I never left the mat). So with all that, any kind of contact seems to be only adding fuel to the fire, even though I have all her contact info.

There’s no reason for her opinion of me to change until her overall attitude changes, so I’m waiting for some sign of that, and if that happens, I’d then contact the gym management to ask them to talk to her on my behalf.
