The fact of the matter is I do not know alot about colonge, and I am now faced with the fact that I need to find one. Most know that I absolutely love Game scent, and my unhappiness that it has been discontnued. I need to find a scent that fits the same criteria. I am not sure how to describe it, but I am looking for something that does not dry down heavy. Do you know what I mean? Like, does not dry down with a heavy base note if that makes sense. Game dries down light, as does neroli and grapefruit, but those 2 are not very mascaline. I like the fresh scents. I tried cool water, cool water game, and hugo, and they all seem to have a heavy base note dry down. I came across an Abercrombe & Fitch scent I liked called Fierce, but that is a very strong and common scent. Can you guys please recommend some options that fit this sort of description. ---

The thing that sucks about finding a new cologne is peoples tastes vary so much. I’m sure the guys here will tick off 100 different ones they prefer, and your nose will probably go ‘eww’ to the majority of them. Before the discovery of Game, (which I have ranted at the demise of more than once myself), I wore Very Sexy for Him 2 by Victoria’s Secret. I still do like the scent for the off days. Dude I don’t envy you the search you are about to begin. The only thing I was thinking of doing was taking a unlabeled to-go with me to Nordstrom’s, Macy’s, wherever, and asking the ladies at the cologne counter if know of anything close. If anyone is going to identify a scent, it’s them. ---

I prefer the heavier scents myself, however I do like L’eau d’Issey by Issey Miyake which is a good, light, lemony scent, I’ve also heard good things about Silver Mountain Water from Creed. I’d maybe try using a resource like Basenotes which should help you find different scents with similar characteristics. Then I’d look at getting some samples or decants. The perfumed court is a good site for that. ---

If you are looking for fresh colognes you could check out Versace Uomo, Givenchy Blue Label, Azzaro Chrome and Bulgari Aqua. ---

What kinda of scents do you prefer? Personally I like scents that somewhat sweet (not too sweet) and citrus-ty. Like Subverse, I have used Victoria secret for him 1 and 2, but I prefer the original… the #2 smells sweeter but its kinda weird after a while, and the diffusion isnt that great at all. I also love neroli, but like you said, it isn’t masculine enough, and i find that it doesn’t really lift off my skin that well (or maybe it just dies down after like half hour). I have been testing scents these days and like you, I am no expert at all. I found Imperial Creed to have a ‘green’ scent, and my friend even said it smelled like grass. To me, it’s better than GIT, I just dont know what the hype is about. Chrome Azzaro I found to be sweet, and probably even baby powder in a way. It’s the wrong kind of sweet for me. I do like Acqua Di Gio, now that is a decent scent. Sean John Unforgivable is good too. Black Code Armani is good, but I don’t think it’s suited for day time. You should really look into buying small samples, as everyone has different tastes in cologne. ---

Try some fresh scents like Hugo Element which is very light, fresh (aquatic,) and crisp. Even though it didn’t get that many great reviews on [basenotes.com](http://basenotes.com) it doesn’t mean that you won’t like it. It’s very light and doesn’t have a heavy smell to it as some say it doesn’t even last as long as they’d like it to. Another one you can try is Givenchy P I (had to separate P I because it comes out as “Primal Instinct”) and DKNY Men, maybe even some Aqua Di Gio but this one is a bit heavier but still light. Another Game like scent would be Polo Blue, it’s also fresh and clean smelling like Game. ---

I was never much into scents before I was born into the phero world. But the abundance of “sniff sniff” compliments I have received since then has me looking for a new one. I did like Very Sexy 1, but it stays so close to your skin so diffusion seemed to be a problem. I like fierce, but at one spray it is quite strong. Not to mention A&F stores spray it so much it knocks you over and its a very recognizable scent. I know I love Game. I guess I like sweet, fresh scents. Citrus maybe? Does that describe Game? FF21 would be fine if it was sweeter. I just cant seem to get past that overpowering sour citrus note. It really is quite overpowering. ---

I agree jesse, FF21 is good but initial sprays are too sharp and strong. But still good, just wish it was a tad bit lighter/sweeter. The closest thing I can describe Game is to it belonging to the aquatic and sweet family tree of perfumes. The ones I personally listed fall into that category, for example Polo Blue has notes of: **Top Notes** Melon de Cavaillon, Watery Melon, Fresh Cucumber, Tangerine. **Middle Notes** Basil, Clary Sage Absolute, Geranium. **Base Notes** Washed Suede, Velvety Moss, Amber Wood, Patchouli Coeur, Sheer Musk. Another one that resembles Game from memory and the last time I wore this was Crave by Calvin Klein, although it’s discontinued but with luck you can probably still find it. Notes are: **Top Notes** Hydrophonic Palm Leaf, Fluorescent Fresh Accord, Frozen Green Notes, Bergamot, Star Fruit . **Middle Notes** Crushed Basil Leaves, Coriander Leaf, Cardamom, White Sage, Pimento Berries . **Base Notes** Birchwood, Musk, Tonka, Sandal, Lichen, Nutmeg, Vetiver . > [@jessejester](#): > > Thank you all for you suggestions. Oh, and as far as Fierce goes it smells good yes, and it is quite strong with good diffusion but thing is that it is over played and very common nowadays even though girls still dig it I’m sure. I think a lot of gay men wear this too, but that doesn’t mean anything just saying. I’d buy it if I had the money just for kicks and to wear once in awhile, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it. ---

Ok, i was walking through the grocery store and caught a wiff of a cologne I think I like. And yes, I had to do the embarrassing “hey man what cologne are you wearing” to some produce stocker.:o He said it was **Issey** **Miyake.** Anyone heard of it? ---

I think Gegogi wears that, and is pretty famous from what I hear. Only problem is which one? I’ve been known to wear Leau d’Issey. It’s a very light, lemony scent which is very nice. Would be very good for warmer climes. ---

The Idea behind this scent search is to find something to mix with unscented phero’s. I went home with all the above scents sprayed on those card things, and my X liked Euphoria and Voyage the best.
