If mastering the inner game is your thing, this 3 CD collection is a must… Gilligan knows more about _Other Than Conscious Communication_ than the entirety of the PUA community put together, on their best day, on the cleanest speed…😕

Gilligan isn’t about PUA… he is about learning how to experience superior unconscious communication and unconscious competence to get outstanding results with people in all circumstances… 😃

However, IF you think of yourself as directly or indirectly part of PUAness in any way, shape, or form… you MUST be working on your inner game, and to do that, you MUST have mentors who know what they’re talking about, for real… instead of a bunch of poorly educated gassbag gurus and coaches selling half baked opinions as life models… 🆒 🆒

You might as well start with the best material and develop a winning approach from that rather than trying to unlearn a bunch of cheezball mind contortions:

**Generative Hypnosis: The Fundamentals of the Ericksonian Approach (Audio CD)**
by [Ph.D. Stephen G. Gilligan](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/105-8265470-5342014?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Ph.D.%20Stephen%20G.%20Gilligan)

_“Through lecture, stories, demonstrations and exercises, Dr. Gilligan teaches and models the essential elements, states and skills that you need to be effective at hypnosis. He presents the key concepts of the Ericksonian approach including trance-logic, unity and complementarity, as well as utilizing and integrating complementary selves.”_

Neeee—yope… you have to remember the Ericksonians are mostly an older crowd now, come of age pre-internet when you had no choice but face to face… the Erickson Institute is so tight assed they won’t sell most of their products to non-degeed, non-mental health professions… which is even more wacked out because obviously their prime years were the 1970s-80s and much of the stuff may be fully relevant as learning material but they’re treating it like some great secret oooga-booga… so looking through their catalog of “sacred texts” I’m pondering if they haven’t given up the momentum to the PUA community by default, and the PUAs, being denied access to this deep database of human knowledge, are forced to invent the wheel all over again… 🆒 😕

I agree, of course. Obtaining women is just one aspect of a man’s life, so why not start out with correcting everything at once, instead of just focusing on that one area in particular? I never understood that approach in personal development. If you’re going to learn NLP, hypnosis, DHE, etc., you might as well learn from the best of the best as you’re pretty much wasting your time and money on amateurs who are banking on information they learned from the best of the best. Interesting product… never heard of Gilligan.

Sad to say, the politix of the consciousness community is about as fractured and neurotic as the politix of the PUA community… you have to give the PUAs major gold stars for being curious and willing to look into what the NLP, Ericksonian, and related crowds know and can teach… Gilligan has a summer intensive out in southern california every year, Trance Camp, if you want to hone your game to straight edge razor sharp… in Gilligan’s uniquely strange way… as for NLP… lucky thing too.. **John Grinder and Carmen Bostic** (they always teach together) are back in the mix with public seminars… you might have to go to London, Mexico, or Australia to sit in… he seems to have an aversion or a legality that keeps him out of the USA… when John Grinder is on his A game he can blow you into the weeds… for USA trainings probably **Jon Altfeld** runs about the tightest, results oriented, no woojie BS NLP training… which I’d suggest doing two or three times until you really get an _unconscious grasp_ on state chaining… he’s the only guy anywhere who explicitly reveals the secret ingredient of a lot of powerful communication, the state chain… which nobody internalized well until their third, forth, or fifth time around… then there a lot of cultish large group and NLP-ish doggie poop that is mostly sizzle and very little steak, often with a charismatic Elevated One whose ass must be kissed… I found myself out in the midwest with one such gentleman who had drunk from the well of egomania and nuttiness once too often… sat there in stunned disbelief… this loon has devoted followers ? Ohhhh heeess sooo magical ! Righto. Magical. Hows the Kool Aid by the way ?

Well, yeah… careful what you imbibe unless you know the long term effects… 😛

PS… Gilligan is quite satisfying on multiple listening… as one often goes into trance unexpectedly… there’s always something you think you missed first time, and he teaches mountains of technique while pretending to tell innocent stories… there’s this awesome one about Norman Cousins having dinner with Hellen Keller… my only complaint is why can they get the recording quality up to Glauberman’s standards ? For real, this IS the 21st century… one should sound like it.🙄 🙂

4 a young guy who wants to advance… you MUST have a sophisticated vocabulary… there’s nothing quite like knowing the exact word at the right moment to fully clarify what you’re talking about… I’m rather stunned at how limited the expressive range is of educated folk in their 20s… a man who speaks well and precisely will make a positive lasting impression on anyone… it says to the world, here is a guy who cares enough to know what he is talking about… there are many products available, none are perfect, all will help some, so you might need to own two or three programs to round out your skills… this is something you should take very seriously and bust your ass to master, because the way the rest of your life unfolds will depend on it…

I’d also clear my speech of too many regionalisms… growing up in the southwest, I learned many expressions that were well loved in specific areas, and I had mistakenly assumed that what we found intelligent would be equally admired in other parts of the country. How wrong I was. I sounded like a clueless hick. It took me years to get all the “clever trash” out of my daily conversation…

I’d also learn how to be a superior listener… that’s the most underrated skill in town, now corporate america is getting the message and insisting that executives have excellent listening skills.. there are several courses on listening abilities which I have not tried, they may be of value…

I’ve had a look at this book and like it very much:

**Wisdom of Listening (Paperback)**
by [Mark Brady](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/103-2792503-7673402?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Mark%20Brady) (Author)

Just having the ability to listen well and speak well puts you ahead of 95% of the competition…you will have to work hard at it,though.. you don’t get something for nothing, especially human abilities…

And finally, I’d watch as little television as possible. I stopped watching TV altogether about 2 months ago, at first I experienced withdrawal symptoms quite similar to valium or other benzodiazapenes, TV is a powerful hypnotic drug that sucks you in and locks your mind in a jello brain trance. You think I’m joking about it’s addicitve power ? Challenge anyone, especially someone on their high horse about drug addiction, to not watch television for 90 days. Cold turkey. Not turn it on once for any reason. Now, what you will find is identical behavior that you see in heroin addicts. They’ll do it later, they’ll do it tomorrow, they have ten million rationalizations why THEIR addicition is different from everybody else’s addiction. It’s actually good for their mental health you see, it’s the other people it messes up. Then don’t choose to watch stuff, they NEED to watch THEIR show or they will curl up and die, or explode into an oily fireball, or burst into tears, or suffer the most terrrible indigestion… but.. NO WAY are they addicts… only people who ingest drugs are addicts…

So say to them, alright, thats a nice lot of noise you’ve made, but I am throwing this thing out the window right now… and see what BEHAVIOR ensues… righto… exactly the same thing an addict does when you threaten to flush his stash… end of the world and all that… hideous gnashing and wailing…

Read more, get a bigger vocabulary and review it constantly, learn to be an expert listener, watch half as much TV as you do now, don’t chew gum, don’t use profanity unless it is genuinely called for…🙂

Terrible Truth about Collective Addiction dep’t:😛

(OK… compute this in terms of life success… the average boob watches 1650 hours of television per year… 1650 divided by 8 as in hours of a workday is **205 workdays** of 8 hours… now, imagine how much ahead of the pack you would be if you were reading significant books, improving your skills, taking classes and seminars… if you were not watching television… in only ONE YEAR of investment in your self you would be substantially ahead of your peers in everything but knowledge of useless trivia…)

[Turn OFF your TV for a happier, healthier life! | Trash Your TV!](http://www.trashyourtv.com/)

_THE AVERAGE AMERICAN WATCHES OVER 4½ HOURS OF TELEVISION EVERY SINGLE DAY 🙄 🆒 😮 ☹_
**TV’s got your attention**

Once your attention is glued to the screen due to the orientation response, some very strange, but subtle, things start to happen to your brain, when you watch TV. The effects can feel somewhat pleasant and relaxing, at least while the TV is on.
**Zombie eyes**

Look closely into the eyes of anyone who is watching TV. Most of the time they have a zombie-like, spaced-out, empty look to them. Unfortunately, there have been very few studies done to examine this phenomenon. The few published studies present a rather frightening picture of what the human brain looks like when it is hooked to a TV.
Watching TV may feel relaxing. TV has a remarkable ability to shut out the rest of our crazy world. All the world’s problems vanish as your TV program wraps you in a cozy Neverland; or so it seems.
**Brain goes into hypnotic state**

In fact, the brain goes into an alpha brainwave state. This state feels relaxing. Viewers become less alert and more passive. The state is comparable to hypnosis.
Surprisingly, the lowered alertness and feelings of passivity do not end after viewers turn the TV off. The culprit for this effect is most likely the cathode ray tubes in the TV monitors, which can produce a flicker that the conscious mind does not detect.
According to a Scientific American study, “survey participants commonly reflect that television has somehow absorbed or sucked out their energy, leaving them depleted. They say they have more difficulty concentrating after viewing than before.
**Early experiment showed children passive when watching favorite programs**

Other studies have linked the passivity to the left side of the brain shutting down. The left brain is primarily responsible for logical analysis and thought. In the Mulholland experiment, 10 children watched their favorite television program, while the researchers monitored their brainwave patterns. The researchers expected that the children would show a preponderance of beta waves. This would indicate that they were involved and responding to their favorite programs. Instead, they stayed in alpha. “They just sat back. They stayed almost the whole time in alpha. That meant that while they were watching they were not reacting, not orienting, not focusing, just spaced out,” said Dr. Eric Peper.
Similarly, in the early 1980’s, researchers in Australia found that the left brain “sort of went to sleep” once TV was switched on but the right brain was busy “storing information in its memory bank”.
Scandalously, there has been virtually no follow up on these experiments. Researchers could not get funding. Aside from a few early experiments in the US and in the 1970’s and early 1980’s in Australia, the neurophysiology of watching television is relatively unexplored.
**Moods are the same or worse after turning TV off**

Furthermore, researchers found that after they turned off the TV, people’s moods were about the same or worse than before they turned the television on . Television may provide a quick fix for emotional problems, but it lasts only as long as the viewer is watching TV. If viewers are trying to avoid painful feelings, those feelings will return immediately when they turn off the TV.
**Critical brain functions shut down**

What these studies show is that the right side of the brain may be dutifully absorbing all the images from your television screen, but the left side, which does critical analysis, is lulled into a stupor by the television’s flicker. This makes analysis of the images difficult. It also makes it difficult to remember exactly what you have been watching. Furthermore, the research suggests that the left side of the brain may remain in a stupor even after the viewer turns the TV off.
This has profound implications for watching news and other forms of educational TV. In some ways, it is a form of learning. At best, however, TV learning is comparable to sleep teaching. That may have some use, especially for producers of commercials. However, for subjects that require analysis and careful thought, the TV is virtually useless. It is more effective to read newspapers to learn about world events, than to watch it on a screen.

Ahhh… the interview game:

1. Go to Barnes and Noble or any large bookstore and buy two or three, at least one book on how to conduct an interview, what questions to ask… in other words, read the same books that the interviewers read in order to become competent interviewers… some of these books are great because they are long lists of questions to ask… better yet if you can get a book of questions specific to the industry you’re thinking about. Make sure you can answer those questions… so sit down, and think through an answer to each question, or better, have someone you know “interview” you out of the book and you have your answers thought out… don’t wing it.. ever.. they’ll nail you with something you didn’t consider…

2. If the company is large, get all the information you can digest about the company, annual reports, etc… even if you’re going in for an entry level job, you’ll rock their socks if you know what the company made in profit for the last five years… like, they might ask you, so sir, what do you know about our company ?, and you say, you did 1.2 billion in sales last year out of which you got a profit of… and you have 250 million in long term debt… your comapny is composed of three divisions, the president of each one is… when you come in that prepared, their jaw hits the floor…

3. Oh yeah.. the industry in general… read a book or two about the industry as a whole… serious book, such as they assign in business school… if you’re considering the publishing business, KNOW the publishing business, what challenges they face, how the industry is changing, what the markets are… same applies to any business… even if you’re going for a job in a smaller operation that Step 2 wouldn’t apply to, KNOW the business as best as you can…

4. The interviewer (if he/she is worth his pay) will want to know if you have any questions… so have a short list of intelligent questions thought through well ahead of time… ask a couple of good, serious questions about the way the company works that indicate a measure of ambition on your part… such as, “at Blowhard Enterprises are entry level employees encouraged to participate and give their honest opinions at meetings, or are we expected to let the managers do the talking while we take notes”?

The interviewer’s response will tell you a lot. If he says nothing, it means, welcome to the machine kid. If he hems and haws, its a power structure place. If he is enthusiastic about the “give and take culture”… you want to ask questions that make the interviewer enthusiastic about his company.

Ask him this. “What makes you proud to work for this company” ?.. if you get a funky response… don’t work there. ONLY work for places, as much as circumstances permit, where the interviewer is comfortable saying why he IS proud to be part of it, because this tells you the place is more than a paycheck, it is a viable culture…
