I don’t get how this works… sometimes posts requires approval, sometimes not… why ?

For the older (time here) posters, there is a bug in the Forum software that sometimes pops up, for the newer posters (less than about 50 posts) they get moderated a bit as an anti spam measure.

I think I have it figured out to a few words that’s triggering the mod filters. I’ve been stopping by regularly to approve them so you don’t have to report the same message 7 times like some users.

Try keeping your posts short…like 4-5 lines until you get to 50 posts. it was annoying for me too, but i noticed that my short posts got through. The long ones were blocked every time.

Also, creating a thread gets blocked much more, if not always, than regular posts.

I think one of the target words was “steveo” A sure indicator of flame or spam… He’s such a stinker. That’s why he was told to get BANned.

Yup I am banned and yet I have total control. Who would have figured on that one when I signed up back in January?

lol Steveo 😃 but you might wanna change that, it’s a bit confusing for a staff member to have BANNED as a title. I fisrt tought you did some bad things and got banned 😛

And I still understand nothing about this post approval system, it seems to pick out randomly some of my post for approval

It happens for me too. But that’s fine since we’re technically newcomers (few posts, recently joined).

This system is amazing and should be adopted my most of bulletin-boards/forums to prevent spamming as well as blocking specific phrases by the use of filters like linking websites and so forth until a particular post number is acquired (which almost always is due to advertising).

However, the only downside of this security feature is that it is time consuming especially for moderators/admins.

Yepp, I found it extremely annoying, too. Now that I’m a good way over 50 posts it only happens to me in the ‘Store Announcement and Feedback’ forum…

</div>

There are certain words that the system auto moderates. I know everyone keeps asking me what those are but I am not allowed to release them. They are moderated for a reason.

On the other hand users that are trusted with less than 50 posts I have been going in and manually bringing them up to fifty so they don’t get moderated.

It’s all about SPAM bots.

Oh yeah, who says I’m not banned and just a really good hacker, and very helpful?
