Mark, I wanted to answer this thread from a womans perspective because I was so touched with your earnestness.. Ive just been a little scared about being unfairly insulted or avoided here, but at this point I dont care, I want to help shed light on our thoughts and motives as women.

Many times I myself have gone out and handed my number out to guys (in the days before I had my boyfriend).. only when asked… so here are a few real scenarios that I have been through as to why I havent called back few times, Id like to share with you (gulp)..

I once met a real NICE seemingly stable Irish gentleman that I really liked once at a bar, he asked for my number, was giving me lots of flattery and sweet attention that I love, I mean this was my kind of guy. Unfortunately, he just waited to long in calling me (5 days), I felt that maybe his attention may have been an act and I was at the bottom of his list. I became disinterested, and I did not pick up my phone..

Between boyfriends, I met a really cute younger guy at an 80s dance club last year. We danced.. my friends left, stupid Julia having some fun.. I stayed. He did like a 180 on me, went from cute, nice guy, tryed to hump me on the floor, I was terrified. At that point all I could think about was getting OUT of there. I ran out to grab a taxi and I could not get him off of me, I mean he was glued to my leg. He took my number earlier.. This cute, semi-cool guy at one end of the night became my worst nightmare at the other end.

Met a guy I thought maybe I liked once at a bar, I got drunk. He got drunk. He called me a few days later, and I honestly barely remembered who he was other than the fact he was drunk, the alcohol association was too much for me and so I didnt pick up my phone.

Now, on the flip side of the coin here there have been times, where my prospective interest has not called me (and this has happened to EVERY woman I know, who is interesting, sexy, and intelligent), and we have wondered why… So much so there are whole talk shows dedicated to this very subject, books written. You’re PUA is our “Hes just not that into you.”

The difference is pua is pro-active (male), whereas the later is more responsive (female), cultural references reflecting the biology of men and women.

You look like a very intelligent, charming and handsome gentleman who does not have a problem with women and is at the top of your game. Just take care of yourself now after this break from your woman.. you’re energy might be a little down now, and many women may pick up on that. At any rate 1 in 5 is still really high in your favor, absolutely nothing to frown on you always seem to have a cutie on your arm in many your photos, so you clearly are attractive to many women.

I feel for you mark… I really do…

But perhaps your approach is the matter here…

I approach with the intent of adding to my social circle and I tell them that, I am looking for X person who likes to go to the movies on say Friday nights to see action flicks or the occasional cartoon flick.

I am looking for a person who like to eat at ### place once a month and make a casual thing of it.

Perhaps the message you are sending is more of a sexual overtone than a I think you are attractive lets see if you have a good personality to back it up and can thereby join my circle.

It is from that point, the meetings which are really dates, (especially if you have mones) LOL can help you see multiple people during the week while they are friends , you get to play the field and have a chance of finding someone who you can really like…

There is nothing wrong with meeting new people and talking about doing fun stuff… just leave no doubt that you find them attractive and you are a confident and charming individual who is intune with who you are.

With this approach, which I have not had a wrong number this year. I have been having loads of fun… and every time I go out, I get some girl dragging me onto the dance floor after one does it… they just see that’s what it takes to dance with me and I do dance rather well. (did ballroom)

I hope this helps even a little.

Wrlprchnx… that depends on whether or not you are looking for something long term, as mark is.

the Apololypse opener works well… or the… “hey… you want to meet up later” opener…

if she likes you get her number like that and if she does not find anything she likes… bingo shaggtsatic

I was just joking eh

Who says you can’t have an LTR with a girl that you took home the first night?

(and don’t go on about the quality of a girl that would go home with a guy on the first night - my thought on that subject is that I have sufficient confidence in my own attractiveness to assume that I could convince even a quality girl to come home with me on the first night)

To be honest, regardless of how we try and pretend otherwise or how hollywood portrays how we should act, 99% of women need sufficient time to develop a physical attraction with men, even if you have the phero advantage. I have rarely been instantly physically attracted to someone to the point of wanting to sleep with them, it would feel odd and instinctively wrong to just sleep with them. SEX for me and most women wired correctly, is bonding. if I am repeatedly exposed to someone with a certain phero signature thats another story, sex may happen.

We are getting slightly off topic here but -

Julia, sex is not about bonding, it is about reproducing - Cuddling is for bonding.

Ladies and men alike are socialised to believe that reproducing is sex’s secondary role (the first being creating a bond or for harmonizing a pairing).

We simply have not evolved past the point where our bodies do not still react when our minds say no.

Not every girl who goes home with a guy on the first night is a nympho or broken (or drunk). When a guy and a girl connect in a strongly emotional way instantly it happens between two mentally healthy, uninebriated people all the time.

It just so happens that some guys have gotten really good at figuring out how to make those strongly emotional connections with a large number of people on a consistent basis. Some other guys have taken the time to break down the logic behind doing it and create systems to make it happen more consistently - The problem is that there are a bunch of guys out there who harbour resentment towards women and see PUA methodologies (the systems to create emotional connections) as ways to fake an emotional connection and trick women into sleeping with them.

Drunk hookups fit into faked emotional connections as well - alcohol over-consumed tends to make people overly emotional - therefore anything they feel they tend to feel more deeply.

In my opinion faked emotional connections are the reason why it is widely considered that first night hook-ups do not make for good LTR’s - and I agree that a first night hook-up based on a faked emotional connection will not tend to produce a LTR because SOMEBODY eventually realizes the connection was faked and feels resentment for being tricked. Even if the person being faked doesn’t realize it wasn’t real… the person who fakes an emotional connection to sleep with someone will resent them later because if they can fake the person into sleeping with them… then someone else can. I also think that people who fake emotional connections to get laid tend to have opposite sex resentment issues…

Hrmm… a little too stream of consciousness in my argument

As long as the emotional connection isn’t faked, a first night lay can easily turn into an LTR IMO

Possible, but would have to see viable statistical data to analyze.

I see your argument, intellectually very appealing and some points I do agree with and you win this discussion, hands down. However, Im not interested in proving right or wrong, only trying to explain female instinct and perspective.

Real emotional connections take time, if a woman is smart with her feelings and instincts she’ll know she is being played with any “techniques.”

That being said I dont have any judgement on PUA technique if it works for you great, I just wonder about genuine emotions here.

Could you really trust someone as your girlfriend if they fell into bed with you so fast over a fake emotional connection? I sure as hell wouldnt, because if they slept with you so fast, they will do it with someone else just as fast, possibly when they are with you.

As a woman, the feeling of passion and physical attaction take time to build, and is rarely instant.

If this is a deeper or possible “soulmate connection” whats wrong in waiting just to be sure he/she is not going anywhere, and its real.

Contrary to popular belief, PUA also work greatly for women. I know this one shy and kind of chubby girl who took some Female PUA program (yeah I was actually surprised such a thing existed) or something and after a couple of months she became very different. Its like every month she introduced a new pretty guy to us whom she probably picked up on the street on her way home or something. 😃

In fact my friend’s drastic transformation was what convinced me to believe that this thing worked. I mean if an unattractive chubby girl can get hot guys because of it I cant imagine what I can get with it as a male. 😛

Anyway, I feel bad for women with 15th century mind who say they they dont go after the guys they want because they dont wanna look desperate and bla, bla, bla as an excuse for not having ‘game’.

I totally agree with this after all women having been practicing it for centuries. Think about what PUA really is which is basically playing hard to get in a sense with some added info on social skills.

I think a lot of men think I am against PUA which is untrue its the attitude of some that practice it that I am against. Its a bit different for women though. You label what the males practice as PUA or filtering. Your filtering out which girls you have interest in and which ones you dont.
But men label women who practice PUA or filtering as sluts or social climbing bitches. Classic double standard.

I wouldnt feel bad or worry about that. Thats my point, most know what they want and are not afraid to go after it and filter out what they dont want.
