I am new to this…..So, I received my shipment of goodies and I could not wait to try them out…. I have been reading the post of others to determine what dose to start with so I could work my way up…. I started with IS/A (ToGo size) I put (1) spray on each side of my neck and another spray on my wrist. I went out about my business (no hits ☹ and I noticed that later on during the day I had a rash on the spot where I sprayed the IS/A 😮 … I took a shower and washed it off!! I thought that maybe it was a reaction to the lotion that I use so I tried it again today with IS/A with (1) spray to each side of my neck, (1) spray on my wrist and (1) spray to my chest…. Again, I broke out in a rash in all the places that I sprayed the product….. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so are there any suggestions to my dilemma 😕

Well Stormy, I think IS has a citrus based EO to add in dispersion. Perhaps you’re sensitive or allergic to it. A few times a year I develop ultra skin sensitivity and can’t apply most colognes, EOs, scented soap or [pheromone products](https://a314.com/shop/) to my skin. Well I can if I don’t mind an itching red rash and bleeding welts!

There is an easy solution–besides not using it. Apply to hair and/or clothing. Some claim clothing apps aren’t as effective. However I fine they work well and certainly are better than nothing or a bunch of friggen red blisters all over your lovely hide!

Also, certain medications such as antibiotics can increase skin sensitivity. A common herbal supplement, ST. John’s Wort makes many folks sensitive to both sun and plant extracts (EOs, perfumes, etc.). It also defeats oral contraceptives.

Excellent post Gegogi.

I agree, I never get a rash and have only recently spoken to one person who has this problem with one particular product. Its contact dermatitis basically. Something touching your skin irritates it. Is it just IS/A ?

Cloth application is better then nothing as Gegogi said although your dosage will be different and you will need to wash your cloths with a scoop of oxiclean. They have detergents with oxiclean in it now to.

Hair should be fine as well.

Are you normally sensitive to scents or lotions ? Certain EO’s will cause rashes but neroli usually isnt one of them but then again we are all different so it could be.

I have the same problem! It got so bad in the summer (because of the sweating and heat) that my skin felt like it was burning and it peeled along with having the rashes. It’s especially worse in the more sensitive areas such as the neck and chest, so definitely no applying pheros to those areas anymore. However, my wrist didn’t have such a bad reaction, so I can still apply there, but mostly I just spray them into my hair now. I think it’s the alcohol that is causing the problem. I get the same kind of reaction when I use other products that contain alcohol, such as body sprays and perfumes. This makes sense since alcohol dries out skin and hair, and especially because I personally have sensitive skin. It’s sad how I can’t apply to many areas that provide good diffusion ☹

Tomatoes, eggplant & cucumber leaves give me a red itching rash within a few minutes of contact (I’m into organic gardening). Touching a cucumber stem is almost as painful as a bee sting! Also ROC (wrinkle cream to keep from scaring my young GFs) burns my face and I had to stop using it lately. What’s extremely odd is I faze into and out of nothing bothering me to sensitivity to ultra sensitivity. Currently I can still wear [Ammo](https://a314.com/product/ammo/), A413 and most of my colognes without problems but it can change in a day or two. I assume this is an age thing as it never happened until my mid-40s…

Oh yep, I have that problem. My neck and chest are really super sensitive (towards anything lol, parfume/lotion…etc.) my skin would instantly turn red, and I get these weird goosebumps but after a few hours they go a way. It’s so weird!

So now a days, I use them on my wrists, lower arms, shoulder blades or near the ends on my shoulders, and hair. It works too 😉

I dont have that problem, maybe because I slather on lotion before I apply my mones. Maybe try that and see it it helps. Its worth a shot.

That’s a good idea, Tisha! I’m going to try that and see if it works. However, I’m just wondering if the lotion will slow down diffusion of the pheros? I don’t really want diffusion to slow down…

yeah i was just wondering the same thing about lotion..

i usually get a red spot wherever i put on eow also ☹ i think its because eow is extremely alcoholic and i have hyperactive IgEs, i think ☹

No only when I put the lotion on over the mones does it slow the diffusion.

After I shower I pick my scent combo for the day and slather on a ton of lotion. Then I diddle around putting on makeup and doing my hair and stuff. Then I apply my mones and get dressed so my lotion is pretty much worked in good by then. I havnt noticed a problem with diffusion unless I out the mone on when the lotion is not worked in good or when I apply over my mones.

Oh and I forgot if I am wearing copulins that day I always add a few drops to my lotion before I put it on. Then when I am applying my regular mones for the day I apply the rest of my dosage. I just like doing it that way especially during the hotter times of year. Seems to work better and last longer for me.

Hey Tisha,
I tried putting lotion on before applying my pheros today and it totally worked! 😃 First, I applied some body lotion on my neck (very sensitive area- I usually get red immediately after spraying on pheros) and let it dry for about 15 minutes while I do my makeup and stuff. Then, I applied the pheros and I didn’t even feel a sting! Thank you sooo much for the tip, Tisha! 🙂
Reps to you!

Wow, interesting.

I’m sorry to hear that happened for anybody here. Certainly send anything back that gives you a rash, and try something else. We all respond differently to different things.

A lot of people are allergic to EOs (plant essential oils), because plants contain poisons to discourage us from eating them, wearing them, etc. It’s their equivalent of fangs. I’ve heard that poisons make up to 40% of a plant’s weight.

However, our [Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/) doesn’t contain any the normal EOs that give people a lot of trouble. It has a lot of natural material, but everything is highly processed for perfumery. They keep just certain portions which smell nice and are fairly skin compatible, and get rid of the rest.

This is done outside of our labs to IFRA standards and regulations, by the world leader in perfume tech. (they make about 40% of the fragrances you see at the department stores) They still update their formulas all the time, to get rid of things that give too many people too many problems. This is why old perfumes don’t have the same formulas anymore. A bottle of Shalimar made today doesn’t have what a 10 year old bottle had, and it especially doesn’t have what a 50 year old bottle had.

A lot of citrus things in the planet world, in particular, don’t agree with a lot of people.

So there could definiteiy be something in there that some people do respond to. Thankfully we don’t hear about it much, but I’m sad to see it effect anybody.

We recently pro-actively pulled the fragrance used in Ammunition due to a new alert about a certain fragrance ingredient from IFRA. There was a chemical in there that may have caused a rashed on some people. That’s a male product, though, and it seems more women tend to rash up to certain fragrance chemicals than men by percentage.

I’ll give the perfumers a call this week and see if there’s anything in the Neroli that could be reworked to be friendlier to more people’s skin.

I tried the lotion and applied my pheros today on neck and chest…woah, I’m red all over for the first few hours lol, It looked like a hickey going away lol :o, but now it’s gone. Oh well, I’ll survive! I don’t get a rash, my skin turns tomato red (and I’m not a pale person at all) lol along with some goosebumps but it goes away, like I said my body is weird! not blaming it on the pheros though, cause not many people are having problems with it.

Yep I have a couple of them. I like them but there not great for diffusing mones really. The effect is just not the same as wearing them on my body for certain mixes. I don’t know if the mones need to mesh with me or its because the pendants don’t heat up enough to diffuse them.
