If I remember correctly, everything from Intimate Research is alpha-nol based, sometimes quite a bit of it, and Winifred Cutler is aware of maybe 9 or 10 pheromones that may be in her different products (likely in low concentration).
“My bad” for not remembering all the weird spellings out there. You have it right.
Dodd was supposed have used something like 20 pheromones in PF (which is far easier to remember the spelling of!), probably many of which were analogues of alpha-nol.
I suppose whether or not that’s actually true is up for debate, or some very expensive testing against a huge collection of pheromone related standards.
His complete isolated pallette was supposed to contain approximately 50 human pheromones.
It’s unfortunate you hardly ever used it, as if it contains what it’s supposed to, then it’s a masterpiece and a labor of love compared to the bulk of carelessly designed product out there.
I think very few people really gave it a good workout. I’ve got to wonder if it would’ve been used more and eventually liked better than it is now, if it was sold at a price more similar to something like Primal.
I suppose I should give it a fair shot. There’s just soooo many things out there to play with, even just the good ones. Never mind adding in all the “dubious” stuff. And blame yourself a bit too. With all these Androtics products I’m busy busy busy! (and hope to “get busy” one of these days… )
I thought of the scent as more “summer” than “winter” so I suppose the time is coming to give it a better workout.
And like you say, for what it is (or supposed to be, and with Dr. Dodd’s rep, should be) , it’s rather inexpensive. Reminds me of a story I heard from a software manufacturer years ago. They had a real nice product pegged at $99 that wasn’t selling worth a darn. So they jacked the price to $199 and it flew off the shelves. Same product, new price. “Hey it costs more! Must be better!” Oy! People…
I’m sure Dodd has enough experience that he could perhaps trample us all, but all designers have their own social proclivities. He probably prefers friendly, and that’s it. He does seem to be a bit of a hippy?
On the other hand, while Cutler no doubt has the knowledge and experience to create more effects, she actually seems anti-sex… almost afraid of masculinity?
I might even see anti-sex, too, but that’s not true… I’m just pro-accuracy. I like things to perform as claimed, and I probably understate a few things.
In fact, I should make more even more sex claims, considering that all positive social actions do tie in to sexuality in one way or another…
I’ve seen examples of this, too.
If your price is too low compared to market, you usually have a lot of explaining to do… you need lots of sales copy. You may need to use as much effort OR more than someone who charged too much.
Also, price is a fast trigger, a fast “cue”.
Life is short, and there’s opportunities aplenty. You spend too much time in a decision making process, and life passes you by. It’s actually good to use fast keypoints to make decisions for this reason.
We’ll be misled sometimes, sure, but as long as we get to lead a richer, fuller life overall, I guess it ends up being a plus sum game.
Back when Dr. Dodd sold Xcite Wipes and Lacroy sold nHance Wipes, I used to apply both wipes simultaneously. Pretty interesting results from that combo!
Kind of like when a decent but not beautiful looking couple with a few outstanding but completely different facial features combine to make a really good-looking kid!
Well from my online research Dodd has recently been involved in developing a patch for increasing women’s sex drives. The patch is called ‘Scentuelle’ and is designed to be worn on the women’s wrist and sniffed by the wearer throughout the day.
Apparently his formula is secret but he let slip that it does contain vetiver, an Oriental perfumed root, seaweed and basmati flower. Scentuelle contains ingredients which stimulate dopamine apparently.
