Ok, so I’ve jumped around to various boards searching for the right recommendations on the aforementioned and more. There seem to be a few people on here who are familiar with the material _ahem_ Jasmin _ahem_, and while the other boards I’ve gone to are relatively dead with the topic, it seems that this forum goes into depth with certain topics of interest. Anyways, post ANYTHING related to the aforementioned. Don’t limit it to just one topic, unless you are only familiar with only one area. The reason why I want to know is because I’m a beginner, and I’m looking into educating myself on some of these concepts/therapies/etc. I’m not necessarily looking to be a therapist, but to further any self-help that I may need. I realize that getting a therapist in my area would be the best bet, but I’m just generally interested in this stuff, aswell. I’m thinking about buying some of Hypnotica’s stuff, though I’m unsure due to mixed reviews. I’m familiar with PUA material, but feel free to share anything you recommend. Also, while I’m not particularly interested in buying this product ([Underground Hypnosis](http://www.undergroundhypnosis.com)) it still seems intriguing to know what to look out for in the real world if somebody tries to use social engineering techniques on me, though, i’m doubtful that will ever occur. So to sum it up. Post anything related to psychology, self-help, or the aforementioned. I’m sure you get my drift. Thanks ---

That’s a good site tacitus. I’ve been interested in the idea of looking into NLP, but was previously unable to figure out what exactly it was, even with others attempting to explain it. This site has definitely cleared matters up a bit. It sounds very interesting. Mindset, the link you gave for the hypnosis underground is also fascinating, although I can’t help but think it sounds a little too good to be true. Although if anyone here has had any experience with it that can tell me otherwise I may be willing to rethink my position. Afterall who wouldn’t want to learn techniques with the results they were describing. 😃 When I have more time I intend to come back and contribute information to this thread. It deals with seduction, but from a feminine approach instead of the PUA. Also being a former Psychology major, I may be able to come up with ideas of interest under this category as well. 🙂 ---

By way of clarification, since there is a recurrent fascination with hypnosis, seems to run in long cycles, 60 years of favor/disfavor, like the dear old Kondratieff wave… Hypnosis as is being marketed, as a “instant powder, just add water and stir” solution to nagging difficulties, just add trance and stir… and voila ! New lover with ideal traits, perfect body mass index, the BMWs you wait list for, man on man the inflated junk you hear, at one training we were being demonstrated hypnotic facelifts, it was bordering on shameful, the need of this woman for attractiveness, her underlying need for love, the obvious exploitation of her fantasy life for “demonstation” purposes, I sort of wanted to vomit on the spot… So, bear in mind that an unscrupulous element is alive and kicking and knows a good scam when they smell one, and would be happy to sell you the answer to every complaint, real or imagined.. However, in the right hands, depending on years of deep experience, serious interest in the subject, the positive side is that hypnosis can be unbelievably powerful, too. Dutchess, I actually ventured into the forum that tacitus linked in this thread, and it said that the [undergroundhypnosis.com](http://undergroundhypnosis.com) website is indeed a scam. Basically it’s a compilation of NLP, Seduction, Persuasion, and Social Engineering, which is what I expected after reading through the content more thoroughly. For the asking price, it would be better off to venture out, and read the material on certain forums, and other books to get a better sense of what this is all about according to the reviewers. Of course, I’m completely new to this concept, afterall I had no idea what NLP stood for until I came across Androtics. Ever since I had been reading tidbits of what I can find on various sites, and asking questions on what the best material is to get familiar with the aforementioned. I definitely would appreciate your input and recommendations on the material you know would be beneficial supplemental reading. Of course, don’t just limit it to books, either. I’m interested in anything that can be of use under the categories mentioned in this thread. Tacitus, I do see what you mean about the exploitation of hypnosis in particular. It seems that a lot of the claims are over-hyped, which is why I want to venture out, and ask consumers what they felt is good material for those who are interested in this stuff. I only want to use hypnosis to help with certain phobias that I am struggling with. NLP sounds great to help perfect my overall package. Persuasion and Game is stated for the obvious. And I’ve always been a sucker for psychology. A lot of the manipulative material I could do without, but I suppose it’s good to know in case some shady individual tries to take advantage for personal gain. In any case, many kudos for the tips and input. ---

you’d be best served by dedicating yourself to a learning phase and make NLP part of your life for a while… in some cases it helps to repeat a training two or three times with a teacher that you have a good rapport with… one of the great skill truths is that **repetition is the key to mastery** … so often one is exposed to a skill, tries it once, and forms an opinion, based on almosr non-existent real world application… then reflect on a simple thing you once learned, say, how to ride a bicycle… if you can age regress yourself a little and go through the point of knowing about bicycles to the minute you could ride one… it was a rather demanding process, but every kid is motivated to do it to be with the other kids who can ride bicycles… ---

If you’re interested in the theory of NLP, the book to read is “Frogs To Princes” by Richard Bandler. It is out of print however, but can be found on EBay. ---

Yes, I’ve heard good things about that book. In fact, I heard it is ‘the’ introductory book to understanding NLP as you described above. I did not know that it is out of print, though. Thanks for your input, Thalion. Tacitus, I concur with your statement about one-on-one training being the best bet to learning NLP. NLP, Hypnosis, and PUA are all forms of applicable knowledge. It will do you no good if all you do is read about it. Have any of you bothered with familiarizing yourself with Tony Robbins’ work? I’ve heard mix reviews about him. More or less that his material is a commercialized watered-down version of NLP and Self-Help. I don’t know how well those claims hold up, though. Kevin Hogan looks like he has some good material aswell. _still waiting for Jasmins appearance_ ☹
