> I watched the videos and feel they’re more voyeuristic than scientific. Personally, I don’t appreciate being photographed for any reason w/o my consent and/or knowledge of how those photos/videos will be displayed. If you’re not an institution such as government, police, bank, etc., that requires people to be surveilled/photographed for security/protection then it’s an invasion of privacy as far as I’m concerned and wrong on so many levels.
>
> Showing those videos on this forum, _of over 28,000 members and untold numbers of “guests”_, ensures no one’s privacy. It’s one thing to post videos of _your own mug_ and something else entirely when you involve others without their knowledge/consent.
>
> As to the “hits”… nah. Tisha read it right. 😉 I hate to break it to ya but none of those girls were interested in you. No matter what store you’re in/bus you’re on/club you’re in, women are going to look at you… just because you’re there or in their line of vision. No matter where you are, most people will make some kind of brief eye contact. I look at tons of people everyday and smile at them and I assure you that is not a hit. It’s just a matter of regular normal social discourse to do so. 🙂
>
> 1st girl, the brunette in the supermarket, was not a twitter _about you._ She was not trying to not look at you because she found you attractive. I’m sorry, she was just waiting and looked more impatient/bored than anything else. The hand on her hip is tell tale. In fact all eyes were on the cashier because he didn’t have his shit together. And the woman checking out in front of you was surveying her stuff and more concerned about what she was spending than aware of you.
>
> Just so you’re aware, L, alotta _people_ have nervous habits with their hair and that doesn’t mean it’s coming from sexual tension she’s feeling from you… it can also be boredom/frustration/absolutely mindless and habitual. Yes, girls will look at you, play with their hair, cock their head, swing their legs, pick their nose and it will have nothing to do with you except that you’re in the vicinity while it’s going on. I understand you want hits and are looking for them but you’re grasping at straws here. You’re trying to pull real hits outta your hat that just aren’t there.
>
> 2nd… girls on the bus… again _most_ people are gonna look at you regardless… blondie saw you and pulled the phone out not to use it to control her overwhelming impulse to devour you with her eyes but as a defense/a wall to block your attention and keep you from approaching her. Probably dialing 911 because _you were staring_ _at her_. 🙄 If she was that “interested” in you, as you say, the last thing she’d do is pick up the phone. She was actually tuning you out. The other girl, the brunette who was sitting, simply looked at you because you were there and I saw no real interest of any kind from her either. BTW, when riding on a bus/subway/elevator it’s not uncommon to look around and scope out your fellow passengers and/or acknowledge their presence by making eye contact and/or smiling. They also look at the walls, the floor and their shoes because there’s not whole lotta other things to look at _besides people_. It’s an everyday occurrence and not to be mistaken for a hit of sexual interest or even a hit of just plain interest.
>
> The peep videos you’ve posted show no viable interest in you that I can see.
>
> The bottom line, no matter _how_ you choose to categorize it, is it’s just plain creepy to video tape people like that, _for any reason_… and I have NP whatsoever telling you that. In fact, if I ever found out someone had done that to me they’d be wearing their “spycam” as a proctoscope.

I’m a bit late to the party on this but totally agree with Bella. I look at guys ALL the time ( like the “you tube” biceps cam), i would say a hit ( in my limited mone experience) is a direct contact with you, verbal or non verbal communication, engagement verbal and non verbal and not just someone glancing in your direction. As for your 2nd vid on the tube, i play with my fone when feel bored or if i feel i am being watched!

Keep up the vids though very interesting

> I can see both sides of the coin in this thread’s reason for being. On one hand you could say it’s a way to help confirm or correct any supposed hits, which I suppose could be useful. But, the fact that someone is being recorded and then their image posted on the internet, that is most un-ethical, in my opinion. Hell, someone here made a video about pheros, used a photo I posted in the trade thread. Granted it’s nothing really worthwhile but he used it without my permission and that did irk me for that reason.

I am unfamiliar with this “law”. Are you referring to the USA? There is no law against filming anyone in a public location (i.e. public park, street, library, etc), nor is there a law forbidding filming in a private location open to the public (i.e. grocery store, mall, bars, clubs, etc). However, private locations open to the public have the right to forbid it or demand a take-down of the photo or video in question of their location (i.e. you were photographed at a club and put on Facebook, so you don’t have the right, but you can request the club demand it be removed). I believe the matter here is called “ethics”, and that is something that you can’t force upon someone. What one person believes to be wrong does not make it wrong for another. While I’m not saying this is thread is acceptable to me, I cannot condone it either. Please let me know if I am wrong. I just wanted to clarify that for the few people saying it’s illegal to do this.

If a person does something humiliating in public, drunk or not, he or she should [needs to] accept responsibility for it.

I don’t know the official law or anything, but I think it’s only legal to record someone if you let them know you’re recording, or make it obvious (like a camcorder in your hand). If you have a hidden camera, then they do not know they’re being recorded.

Well, one angle on that is hidden cameras used by journalists. I don’t think that journalists operate under different laws in this regard than any other citizen.
Where I live (scandinavia) it is legal to record, photo and videotape clandestinely as long as the device is not installed, i.e. it has to be held by you, or at least on a tripod while handled by you. If you would leave your videocamera hidden in a room, leave the room and record someone else it would be illegal. If you are in the room yourself it is legal.
But when it comes to what you then do with the material it’s another matter. You are not allowed to publicize stuff that is demeaning to others, whatever that means. All those are the local laws where I live though.

Like I’m saying, it’s not illegal. I understand why many people would believe this to be illegal because of the ethics involve in it and it seems to follow common sense, but many would be surprised when they can’t do anything about it. Photographers for journalists and paparazzi are no different from regular people. None of the photos are used for commercially (i.e. your picture is in an ad without consent). Naturally, there are always special circumstances that make it illegal, like public restrooms.

The problem arises from audio recording as it is in violation of US wiretap laws and yes very illegal. Linda Tripp recorded her friend Monica talk about Bill and still was prosecuted.

From the article below it also says people have a right to privacy in expected areas there again making it illegal. If you are in a club (A private property) you are not expecting to be monitored or recorded. I certainly wouldn’t want to be the one to have my name blasted all over the press while proving my innocence. Morally wrong and quite possibly illegal. Of course anyone here is welcome to the challenge of the legal system to discover if it isn’t. After 10 years and $100K in legal fees they could put this to rest 🙂. Food for thought below.

You know, personally, I believe that people are entitled to their privacy.

For example, Paparazzi are basically exempt from stalker laws and can get away with anything except murder and trespassing. However, I don’t agree with that because of their, often, Herculean efforts to obtain salacious/sensational photographs.

Speaking of “prey”… it should be illegal to hunt/chase down a celebrity… who has vacated to their private island in the Pacific… to relax away from intrusion/prying eyes… to be dogged by paparazzi in helicopters…with long lenses… photographing them naked on their private beach. 🙄 It _is_ trespassing and a disgusting practice and as far as I’m concerned does not factor into “freedom of the press”. It’s an man-hunt! Freedom for whom?! More like “free for all”. If the paparazzi did the very same thing to anyone else they’d be arrested for stalking. Celebrity or not it’s unfair and should be illegal. Bella’s Law, lol. 😃

No, no one is expecting to be under surveillance unless it has to do with security/protection. And with the establishment owners consent. A bank, the entrance of a hotel, government buildings, traffic intersections in some cases, etc. Security/protection. Put yourself in your “subjects” shoes and think about how _you_ would feel if someone was spycamming _your_ ass.

If I owned a convenience store or a bar, I would be disturbed/angry to find out someone had been video-recording my patrons and would take whatever steps necessary to stop it. It’s not illegal, huh? Well, there are things that can be done to stop it that also aren’t illegal. 🙂 Although, I am not above using _illegal_ tactics to rid my premises of vermin, need be… _cough_… go ahead, tell my mom, lol.

If nothing else it’s testimony to the true character of the individual who does this to others, and for whatever reason they use to justify such action. Big time beta-behavior if ever there was. 🙄

There are plenty of “expert” videos/books on how to read/learn body language but they won’t really do you much good unless you saddle up and stop dicking around! Grow a pair and _get your ass in the game_ instead of “spying” from the sidelines! 🙂
